Myself and another user literally just posted about this, it's the new Extention letter, they must have sent it out by accident not knowing we've already got our cards, typical USCIS

    OMG!!!

I got the message from informed delivery today as well, and I'm out of the country...and  I WAS FREAKING OUT!!! until I read your post just now....and I'm like OH EMMMM GEEEE.......but still,  I'm trying to get in touch with one of my neighbors, and ask her to please find that very personal-extremely-sensitive document to CONFIRM me that it is just what you said...a "new extension letter"...I don't think I will be able to sleep if I don't find out...I mean we are out of the country, just left this past weekend...and what if in my case is something different?? aaghhh!!! LOL

I'm a Dec 2016 filer. Noa 12.22. Currently still no updates on my case. All the cases around mine have been updated but nothing with mine. Btw I'm using the app to track as i see real time updates

I didn't  have the track app, I just installed to check it out and apparently it's connected to the USCIS website....I'm Dec filer, 12.28 and I just got approved, my card is in the mail. I didn't see any of these updates in the USCIS website, until a few weeks ago I registered at the DHS website, and that's where I'm getting all my updates, no updates at the USCIS website.

Have you tried the DHS website?

Congratulations! Did you recieved any notifications thru uscis website before you got that approval notice in the mail? Or you just recieve it right now, without any changes in your status online?? Thank

I got the approval via the DHS website on jun 13,  and jun 12 card is in production and today got the notice in the mail.... But no updates yet in the USCIS website.

  5. OK so FINALLY I got my approval notice in the mail, I was concerned it was a glitch since there is no update in the USCIS website.
No RFE, no interview, no N400, stamp in passport.

I was wondering for those who got the green card, how long did it take between approval and receiving it  by mail? I would like a time frame, I need  to travel with the gc even when I have the stamp in my passport.

Good luck to the rest of the dec/16 filers with their upcoming approvals!

    Hello all...

June 12, 2018 "We are producing your card and will mail it to you"

June 13 " We approved your case"

My receipt number is WAC17091 ... date 12/28/2016

So, the update was in the DHS website, nothing yet in USCIS/check status....no email...no txt msg.....and I got the Feb/2018 glitch (local office etc)

Now I have to wait for the notice in the mail or the card so I can finally say its the real thing and not a glitch, lol..

Thank you! I actually ended up installing web browser extensions on Chrome and an app on my phone that auto-refreshed the appointments web page; at about 3.30pm Friday I got an alert that the page had changed and a slot had come up for Monday at 8.30am, so I jumped on it and got it. You're right, there was no kiosk; if I had gone without an appointment, I would've had to somehow convince security on that floor to let me through so I could talk to the lady at the desk. Not sure how that would have gone. It was pretty painless once I was inside; I got the stamp I needed in my passport and am set for another year.

FYI - the reason I needed an appointment was that I couldn't find my physical green card and panicked. It expired last July and I had received an extension letter, and the agent I met with made it sound like I would have been ok without the green card since I had the letter, but this was not the advice I'd received from the person at USCIS that I had previously spoken with on the phone. Anyhow, I'm relieved that I got it sorted. Phew!

    Thanks for the help!

I'm glad you got all sorted out! I would've panicked as well in your case. I  learned here in visajourney that calling uscis and talking to tier 1 or 2 it is kinda a waste of time...no one is on the same page nor have the proper/information.

I got a slot once in the morning for a 11am appointment, and I missed it when I was filling out the request for the infopass, until I started to check the website around 2am, I got a slot 2 days later, and plenty of time to fill out the request.

And no problem, fer sure ! :P

  8. I went to the Minneapolis office with an infopass back in december...but I do not remember seeing a kiosk in the building. My main reason for the stamp in my passport because I was going to back home for xmas, but eventually I couldn't  travel. I was not asked for any evidence.

I kept checking the uscis website for the infopass, I admit that it took me about 2 weeks to get it. I found several available slots between 2 and 3am.

If you have a valid extension letter, you should be able to travel like I did,...unless your extension letter is about to expire.

  9. Capital (arriving and departure)

And the dominican inmigration....hmm...honestly I don't remember if I showed them the letter voluntarily or was it requested, but  I may have done so because the extension letter and expired green card were in the passport.  I guess that part of the process was uneventful otherwise I would remember it with all the details. I guess, if they ask you, just show them the letter :)

  10. Hey

I traveled to the DR july last year for a week, with the extension letter, no problems.

I presented the extension letter and the expired green card (just in case) to Delta personnel at the AILA counter, the girl was new so she asked a supervisor what to do with the letter, the supervisor  explained her what it was and told her to get a copy of it. The only thing that annoyed me was that the new girl started to question me where I was going, and the name of the airport, she wanted me to say the actual code of the airport and I told her not everyone knows the airports' codes (like...duh? lol) I really don't know if that was normal or just the new girl acting up.

I had a layover in Atlanta, and again, presented the expired green card and the extension letter to the CBP, again, no issues...just the usual questions, how long was I there, reason of my trip, etc. same questions I had the couple of times I traveled to the DR before with the conditional green card.

    Hope this helps. Safe travel!

    Hi All,

Quick question.. my wife is a December filer and we just went to Los Angeles USCIS office by infopass to get her I-551 stamp (Her extension letter extends her residency until 02/05/2018, so we went about a month before expiration date).

She did get her I-551 stamp on her Passport (Extending it to Jan 1st 2019) but they made a hole in her expired 2 yr conditional physical card and took it away. I re-asked if they are suppose to take the card and the officer said yes.

Is this normal? Just double checking..

Also the officer informed that they are expecting I751 cases to be approved within 1yr 3 months to 1yr 6months.

    Thanks all

I got the I-551 stamp on my passport at the Minneapolis office, and the officer took my green card as well. She said the stamp in my passport is enough and I do not need an expired green card if I have a valid I-551 stamp on the passport  it is also proof that I did visit the office for the stamp, and  . Also, when I asked when was the correct time to stamp the passport, I guess she heard "why I was getting the stamp" because she told me "we are giving the stamps because the processing time is taking up to two years" .....

......I like better the information that the officer gave you :P

Hi abby12, may I ask  what is your nationality? You mentioned you used expired GC, extension letter and passport with your trip to DR with no issues. I'm going to travel in Punta Cana this coming Saturday with the same papers like yours, but I'm a Filipino. You think, Immigration officers in Punta Cana would let me in? I've read some stories that some people hold expired GC and extension letter (with passport) experience that Immigration officer in DR didn't let them in. So I'm so nervous, please clear it out for me!

    I'm Dominican.

About your question...technically, the expired green card and extension letter is used to return to the US, so is the immigration in the US that would allow entry or not, and the airlines just make sure the letter is valid etc. When I went to the DR, I only showed my passport and when I returned, I presented the passport, green card and extension letter to the airline and then to the CBP in the US. I don't see why a dominican immigration officer would not allow entry to the Dominican Republic with the expired green card, extension letter and passport because those documents are not for dominican immigration laws concerns, is for the US.

Now, the only issue I would see that would make sense is if the passport is about to expire, or if the country of origin of the person  is one of those few countries that need to apply for a dominican visa and  do not qualify for a tourist card that can be filled at the airport and pay a fee. For more info check this website  http://www.domrep.org/visa.html#Tarjeta

    Hope if this helps :)

I WANNA KNOW DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TRUE IT IS THAT YOU CAN PAY TO EXPEDITE THE PASSPORT AT THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC TO GET IT RIGHT AWAY OR THE NEXT DAY OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT?

If you are talking about getting a new passport at Direccion Nacional De Pasaportes, yes you can expedite it, its called VIP, paying extra fee, if you do everything before noon you get it the same day, after noon then you get it the next day.

  14. I went to Santo Domingo last July, spent a week there with my spouse. I used the extension letter, expired green card and passport, and had no issues. The Delta employees took a photocopy of the letter and I boarded the plane, I should mention that one of the Delta employees did not know about the letter but she asked her supervisor, and everything was fine..actually, I overheard that this employee was new and did not have experience with the extension letter. I had a layover in Atlanta, no issues there either.

    Safe travels!

  15. I traveled to my home country in july 2017 with the extension letter, I had no problems leaving the US nor returning, just the airline's employee asked a supervisor in front of me about the expiration date, and she supervisor said "the one on the letter", they used the issue date of the letter as the expiration date of the extension, not the date of the green card.

When I arrived in Atlanta, I tried to use the kiosk, but I got the X on the printout, so when I went to the booth, couple of questions, and that was it.

The receipt number on my biometrics letter is not working, I don't know what to do. How do I track my case online? Please help!

In your NOA, you get a receipt number, WAC#, correct? in the biometric appointment there should be another WAC# (CRI89), so your bio appt has two WAC# with two bar codes. The new WAC# is the one that works while checking your case on line at the uscis website...at least that works for me.

    Good luck!

  17. But check which countries he can travel with the resident card vs visa. We can go to Canada and Mexico with the green card, but we need to get a visa for other countries like UK.

I know that some islands in the caribbean accept the green card only, others need the passport as well (passport and green card), and return ticket.

    Good luck!

  18. Can you elaborate more? What area in the form did you miss out?

I wrote the date of my marriage in the box for the divorce date...I know I know...so they sent the whole package back with a letter with the checked box : You filed an incomplete I-751, Please complete Part 1#11 of the petition. ..and the box for the "correct fee"

But the original form, has a printed code on the left side of the front page, so I don't know if I should return it or not. I filled out a new form, with the correction (and actually, the new version 12/23/2016, the website said no previous version would be accepted, I sent my petition before the 23rd), so...sort of confused now.

  19. Hey all, so I got my I-751 returned to me because an "incomplete" part of the petition. Anyway I filled out a new form, and because they returned my application before the 23rd, now I have to pay the new fee, almost 100 dollars more...anyway the question...I know I have to put on top of the application the notice they sent with the reasons etc, but what about the incomplete I-751 form that they returned? do I have to send it back with the new one or not? I'm asking because it has a number stamped on it.

    Thank you for the help!

  20. I read the guides and example forms....It may be a stupid question, I apologize, just need confirmation about a couple of things:

The friends affidavit, I have to include it in my own package that I will send to USCIS or it should be mailed by friends?

The affidavit, should it have my A#? and should it be "to whom may concern" or "to California Service Center"?

Somewhere I read about passport photos and I can't find it, should I send passport photos?

I apologize if this was answered before, I tried to look in the website but I can't find it.

    Thank you!
