That's awesome! My local office is as slow as for ROC, so I might as well wait. 😀

How did the interview go? You had your i-751 first and then N-400 I'm assuming?

Thank you. They only interviewed me for the N-400 and it was super easy. They went over the file verifying some of my answers. Then I had to read a short basic sentence and write another basic sentence. Then the 10 questions from the test which they stopped after 6 right ones. And that was it, maybe 10-15 min long.

  2. Hi,

i havent been very active here but wanted to give an update on my case. I filed for the removal of my conditions early May 2017. My case hasn’t updated since biometrics. However in May 2018 I filed my N400 and I had my interview yesterday and I passed. They said they will close out my I-751 first in the next 2 days and then approve my citizenship. Now I just have to wait on my oath ceremony.

Good luck everyone! Also my suggestion is to go and file your N400 as this is mainly dependent on local USCIS office leadtime not the central offices. Which in my case was a lot quicker.

Had the same issue.  Went to USCIS office on may 1st and they told me tht  extention ltter is valid from 1yr of GC expired.  Mine expired july 2017 so the letter is valid until july 2018. He didnt  stamp the passport. He said your letter is valid until july 2018. Hope we will get the  10yr GC soon

So what did you do with your employer? Is there something legal online that I can use to show my employer? I just accepted for a new job at work and I think this is why it came up.

  4. Hi, So my interview was on the 20th and it went really good however it turned out the doctor did not fill out the vaccination form completely. I had it fixed and send out the next day. Anybody knows how long it takes to hear anything after that?

Will I get notified they received it (besides the signing from he post office) ?

Or do I just wait to receive a approval letter or green card?

    Thank you!

  5. Our interview went good. they separated us from the beginning - but asked very basic questions - how did we meet when did we start dating - where my husband lived when we met - when and where we got married....

She did not approve us on the spot though, cause apparently the doctor who did my medical did not fill out my vaccine form properly. So I have to send it back in fully filled out. Already went to the doctor and he filled it out completely.

I don't think there is an issue though as she was very friendly.

Question though cause my husband got the paperwork from her for the vaccines and he did not ask where we had to send the evidence too. Do we send to the local office where we got interviewed at?

Do I send it with a cover letter?

Oh also appointment was at 8am and we were out by 8.45am

  6. We're not taking our kids - just because it would be a hassle (they are 1.5 and 3) would not be able to focus on the interview but chasing after them. I don't think they need to see the kids fysically exist as long as you are both mentioned on their birth certificates and you bring the originals. At least thats how we will do it.

Our interview is Monday july 20th. Little nervous but at the same time I know there is no way they can think this is not a real marriage - with 2 kids + 1 on the way.

  7. hmmm She did not really ask for more documents actually.

We basically jus talked and walked her thru our love story. She was very interested in how we made everything work because it was the same sex marriage between two asians.

And then we talked about our hobbies and what we are going to do after we graduate since both of us are grad students.

at the end, she approved our case.

I believe u will do jus fine as long as ur marriage is genuine.

But it is always smart and advised that bring some pics and more evidence that proves ur marriage is bonafide. like financially and physically.

oh and one more thing, I noticed that some people dressed very casually (like tees and jeans), but I think it is a good idea that u dress up a little bit for the interview. First impression is very important. LOL

good luck with ur interview, u will do great! :goofy:

Thanks - thats very helpfull information!

    Hi nesta37 :)

Goodluck on the interview. Don't worry much on the interview, you'll do just fine. We're actually the same situation before I got my GC just this June. I'm also a March 2015 AOS filer. My husband (US citizen) and I also known each other for 6 years before we got married too and yes we just did a civil wedding here first then probably 2016 too for our wedding ceremony back in my country.

The Officer did not ask about the marriage if it's by paper only that is alright as long as you bring your certificate with you. Just a tip, only answer what the Officer is asking and don't give too much information unless she will ask about it to avoid any mistakes :) You can also check my timeline for my AOS interview as your reference.

    You can do it :)

Thank you for your reply - makes me feel a little better. I kinda know that with all our history it would be silly if they don't approve me (if this wasn't legit we kinda went far to get a greencard - having 2kids and one on the way, haha), but the whole process makes me nervous and doubt things :-)

  8. Ok one more question I still have plenty of time for my interview (july 20th) though.

But me and my husband got married just on paper - at a friend wedding. So he could go on my medical benefits and to start the green card proces. However we are doing the weddingparty in june 2016 in Belgium (Already fixed a date).

My husband (he's the US citizen) is a bit worried if we tell this during the interview (when they ask).

However we've been together for 6 years (met in the US, while I was on a legal L1visa) - moved together to Canada for 3 years (for my job) - then back to US (again me on a legal L1 visa) and we have 2 kids and a 3rd one on the way.

You think it would bring up a question that we married on paper only?

    Thanks.

  9. It was really easy, cos our interviewer was really nice. U jus wait in the lobby and then they will call ur name. and bring u to their office room.

They will start with a question like how and where you guys met. followed by serial other questions.

Mine went very well and last about 30 mins. She told me I will receive my card in 3-4weeks at the end. That is about it.

If you have any specific question, jus let me know. LOL

    U will do great.

    Thats awesome congrats!

Which documents did you bring? Cause the interview letter mentions a long list but also mentions "if not yet submitted"
