My situation is this:
Filed I-751 in 11-1-2008
I Received I-797C, NOA on 11/20/2008 reads that check was cashed, wait for appointment letter for biometrics.
Up to now 4/23/2009 still no biometrics appointment, so I called the 1-800 number and was told that an inquiry would be done and should receive letter within 45 days. The lady I talked to was very polite.
Thanks,
Bruce

Something similar happened to me also. We sent in our I-175 last November 2008. We received our NOA I-797C stating that conditional residence is extended for 1 year and it shows that the check was received and cashed. Then it reads: In order to further process your petition, you will be receiving an application support center(ACS) appointment notice with A specific time, date and location for your biometrics processing.
Up to now I never received that appointment letter. So I called the 18003755283123. The lady I spoke with said she will submit an inquiry as to why the appointment letter was never sent. She said that I should receive a letter in 45 days and if not then I need to call them back. My problem is that we submitted all of our evidence along with photos and everything else. We do have copies of what we sent in but I hate to do things twice. Has anyone else had this experience?
Best regards,
Bruce

I agree with you, I would not want to be bothered while having lunch either. But here is another approach to this idea, I believe the owner is an American guy. You could ask him if he knows of any Co's that have helped people outside the office. I guess you can call this networking. It can't hurt to ask.
-
If you do go back to vietnam I think alot of the American CO's eat lunch at that Texas BBQ joint in Saigon. You may be able to have a chat with one if you can point them out.
Good luck.

I would take lots of photos of the incomplete work for evidence purpose. I would also get your homeowners insurance involved. With a deductable they may replace the damaged door. You may also be able to turn the heat up on this guy if you contact your local action news fraud unit. Just a thought.

From Vietnam to sunny California to FARGO, North Dakota. Thats the journey my wife has taken. I had a good job opportunity with my employer to transfer to our Fargo division. My wife and I drove across this great land seeing all the wonderful things. Once we arrived in Fargo two things suprised me the most, #1. My wifes love for the winter and extreme cold and #2 the rather large Vietnamese community here in Fargo. She has the choice of two good sized Asian markets to shop for our favorite veggies and fish, don't forget the noodles.
So, here are some facts about North Dakota, I call it the Frontier. The population of the entire state is approx. 700,000. there are only 3 cities with a population of over 20,000. I have yet to see a traffic jam. This is a good place for my wife to learn to drive snow or ice.
We are having the time of our lives, fishing in the Red river is great too.
I want to pass on to everyone else going through your visa journey, keep your chin up, be patient, read read and read some more. Get the facts and in the end you will come out on top.
God bless all of you!!!

I don't buy it. What month did you arrive? Maybe her version of extreme cold is not the same as North Dakota.
Yes, We caught the tail end of the last winter, so we didnt get the full effect, This year will be different.

Hi everybody.
When Han and I went through out interview process we knew there were going to be challenges. I did go and visit her in VN twice and that was great for the interview, but we had no real Dam hoi, just a hand full of people there, we have 11 years age difference and I was previously married before. Well in the end at the interview everything worked out. Those of you on AR, just be patient as you have been and our prayers are with you. Those of you that are ready to interview, make sure all your ducks are in a row and tell your fiance to have complete confidence in what she says to the CO.
About some American cities being boring, We have you all beat. My wife and I have moved to the one place that global warming has had no affect on as of yet. That place being Fargo, North Dakota. The high temp today is 1° above zero. You ask, how does my wife from Vietnam handle this? She says, it's not were you live thats important, it's the love of each other and the bond that you have. We love it here, cozy up to the fireplace, while the snow quietly falls outside. Believe it or not, there is a VN resturant here in town. We are happy with our lives.

Guys
im little bit scare bout that, but if i can ask to get a female doctor then it would be so good but wonder why male wanted to do this job?????????????????????
Hope_and_praying,
My wife told me that she had a female doctor and she she said there was also a female nurse with her too at the same time. I cant say why a man would choose to do this kind of work, but that he should be professional in their line of work. Be strong and you will get through this quickly. Just stay focus on the interview.
Please let me know if you have any other questions and I will try to help you.
Sincerely,
Bruce and Han
-
Bruce and Han,
is that true all the things you said?Uh Oh its sound like be n..ked
Yes,
This is the truth. just be calm and you will get through it ok. When you first get there, ask if you can get a female doctor.

My Vo would like to know exactly what do they do during the medical examination in HCMC. Thanks in advanced. Maybe a list of procedures would be good.
Make sure she has her vaccin shots.
1. Make sure she eats and drinks before she goes! Tell her to drink some fresh cocnut.
2. Bring the letter from packet 4 and her passport and ID card. make sure she makes a photo copy of the appointment letter, they will need two copies.
3. Bring the fee money for the examination.
4. After waiting abit, she will be called to have her chest x-ray taken. She will go to a small room to remove her clothes down to her underwear, she will be given a hospital gown and thewn will proceed to the x-ray.
5. After the x-ray, she will get dressed and then told to go to the second floor, they will tell her wear to go.
6. After she waits for some time again, she will go to a small room and again asked to strip down to her underwear.
7. The doctor will begin the examination, listen to the heart, they will look closely at her skin, blood samples and they will also look at her ####### up close. It is best if she gets a female doctor.
8. My wife says that if she wears glasses not to wear then to the examination due to the fact that they may require more test and complicate the examination.
9. They will ask her about family illnesses and if she was ever ill or had some kind a sickness.
10. They may also ask what kind a visa she is applying for and if she has family here in America.
11. After the exam is completed they will give her an appointment letter on when to return to the hospital to pick up the x-ray and approval letter or rejection letter whichever one it is.
I hope this helps.

STL_HCMC,
I want to wish you and your fiancee all the happyness in the world.
Being from Missoura myself, St. Louie that is, Is that your final destination with your fiancee? The reason I ask is because the summer in Missouri is not much different than the winter in HCMC and the tornadoes are a bonus.
Just for the other folks reading this post, We Missourians have a little saying, Show me!, Show me the pink

STL_HCMC,
Good luck!

Well as some of you know, we filed our petition and Received our NOA2 on March 25, 2006. Our file was then sent to the Consulate in HCMC. Huong Received her packet three in the mail, and returned it. During this same time the Consulate returned our file back to USCIS due to the new IMBRA law. The consulate told me that the DS-230 and Applicant Readiness papers that she sent were received after they returned our file, and therefore cannot be used. Finally we are getting some movement, and have already returned the RFE due to IMBRA, and are awaiting the Reafirrmed Approval. Once we receive this and they send our file back to the consulate she will have to wait for them to send her packet 3 again. So basically we are on the same timeframe we were when we first started in March. Before returning her Packet 3 I had her make copies of the original documents before filling them out. Is it possible that she can fill these out and send them to the consulate once we know they have received our file? Or she can fill out the ones online and return them? Would they accept either of these? If IMBRA never affected us she would be having her interview at the end of this month, but now we are looking at another 3 or 4 months. Any advice for us would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike and Huong
Hi Mike,
Keep the faith,
Just make sure that your I-134 notorization and all otheres are documents are going to be within the expiration period. As for the packet 3, try to contact the consulate and see what they say, otherwise you may need to wait. Lets hope it will not be an additional 3-4 months.
Are prayers are with you and Huong.

If you dont have the medical exam in time for the interview, have a letter prepared from the hospital that explains your fiancee situation with the date for each visit that she made there. Get as much detail from the hospital as you can. This can only help and is better than not having anything. I dont mean to sound negative but I am almost sure you will still get a blue slip for not having the required medical documents. You can always ask your fiancee to light up a smoke before she goes into the clinic, she may not stop coughing after that. Another thought, tell her to blow as much air out of her lungs as she can, this may trigger a good deep cough.
Good luck!

When I was in the waiting game, I bought the entire Twilight zone collection and watched evey episode. It really helped take my mind off in a different direction. Just keep strong and believe!

You know,
Alot of people think Elvis Presley is still alive, Now I ponder the thought who Yodrak really is?
Yodrak,
Was your last address in Memphis Tennesee?
-
Yodrak,
I have alot of respect for your post, and I value the information that you supply to everyone on this forum. I have just one curious thought, I have never seen a smilely on your post. So now comes the question, Do you or will you ever use one? This is really an insignificant question, but if you were to use a smiley in your post, I can assure you others will smile back. Try it for fun.
-
Yes,
I did the same as Yodrak, "I answer the question with 'yes, will provide housing, clothing, food, and all incidental living expenses"

If there is anything i can do for you on the Left coast please feel free to ask.
One more thing, Your writing career, maybe some of your best work can be achieved when emotions run high. open up your mind and let the pen flow.

My finacee asked me how she should send back the DS230 and readiness form to the consulate. She asked if she should put our case number on the outside of the envelope and also list the contents on the envelope? I wasnt sure what to say
If she lives near by she can hand deliver it to the consulate. I think putting all the relevant information on the evelope is also a good idea.
Word of caution, you should conact the consulate to see if they will accept your Packet 3. remember, Mike 1972e said they would not keep his Packet because of the IMBRA law. and that he may need to re submit all the information for packet 3. Call the consulate and see what they say, or maybe someone else here can add to this.
Good luck!

My wife and I moved to Fargo, North Dakota then went ice fishing for Walleye. No traffic jams up here although it was a real shock for her the first winter in 2008. She adjusted very well and we have a beautiful home with two beautiful daughters. She still needs the practice of driving a car on polished ice roads. We just planted a 400 sq.ft. garden. I am interested as to how her Vietnamese vegetables will grow this year. We bought a lot of plants in the twin cities at the farmers market. The Basil and Mint are growing like crazy. There is nothing like growing your own vegetables.
