  1. Cooeeee!! thought I'd better type a few lines. Still drop in to read some just slack now I'm here and got this old computer to contend with.

Big congrates David A and lovely Stephanie (L)

And so cool seeing the new addition to your family so soon Matt.

Sorry Kath, just ain't the footy kind, no Rah Rah's from me.

Doing the AOS thingy now too, and so good of Kath to send me some of her always helpful info etc.

Wish I had that littlle mouse picture of Wenchies to put up here sometimes. So appreciative you guys are keeping the "'down under" alive. Getting pretty home sick, I can tell ya. Dreaming of local beaches and the smell of eucalyptus leaves, barbi's in the bush. Crazy nights out in Sydney. Had to ring a government office in Aussy the other day, so yeah the accent made me feel the guy was a great mate, so yeah know what ya mean. T'is a beautiful sound that Aussie accent.

Ranting now. Crying heaps watching the Steve Erwin special on TV, not just cause it was so sad but 'cause I was feeling so home sick.

Anyways besides all that, all's well here and hope it is with you all too,

    Stella.

  2. Yipppeeee!!! I'm a Mrs.........Never thought I'd get married. Can't get used to this wearing a ring thing all the time. Not much of a one for wearing jewelry. Andrew keeps chasing after me with it in his hand with a grumpy look on his face, ha ha ha. God I love him.

    Taake care all

    Stella.

  3. Yes very sad about Steve Erwin. An annoying larrikan but a good man. He did so much for our wild life and he and his family seemed to share so much love. Maybe a case of you don't know what you got till he's gone. Very sad news.

Yeah sorry, I am guilty of not checking in so much. This computer of Andrews is so slow and the keyboard so broken I can hardly bare to get on here and use it. Very busy and still sewing his shirt. Have been unwell mostly since I got here.

Well getting "Handfasted" this Saturday. $10 rings and now no Wedding dress. Had to spend that money on Vet bills for a cat. Oh well we have lots of love to go around so all's well. Kathh have a new Hotmail address now so will write soon so can finally get those pickies off yah.

Take care all and promise to check in more after the wedding.

    Stella.

  4. Hi All,

Haven't been very well, bad flu ffor nearly 4 weeks. On penicillan now, should be better soon.

Big congrates to you Matt  baby and a job :D(F)

I applied for my Social Security number a week and a half ago and got it in less than 5 working days. There is a job going in the local supermarket but just need to check up on this having to stop working after we are married etc. Andrew reckons that sounds too ridiculous to be true. Will phone as soon as my nose stops dripping long enough to speak. Been treated a little like I'm from outa-space 'round here, want to sound as normal as I can. We have been having a lot of unexpected expenses etc so any money extra will help.

Anyways, happy but neither of us have been well.

    Stella.

  5. Thanks all, well we have just bought a new/old house so no getting bored around here. Too much to do and I won't go into detail but it suits us better having me at home for now. We are having a celtic style handfasting and I think Andrew was worrying the guy doing it may not get his end of things done in time. But no worries and Thanks again. We are both natural born worriers I think.

    Take care,

    Stella.

  6. Thanks Matt and Karo. Well we're in a funny little city called Webb City, Joplin. South West Missouri. Funny really cause I have been a singer all my life and people have often told me I am like a modern day Aussie Janis Joplin. Andrews Dad came from Ohio and I really do like the look of it around there. Wedo have plans of heading back to Oz though in 3 or 4 years time. And Matt I think I can remember or guess what that job is but I ain't saying either. Best of luck but I am sure you wont need it.

Now the wedding, this will be my first and Andrews second but he seems a little more concerned about it all being just right than me. (God I love my man) but we'll see as the time gets closer. Don't even have a dress yet (supposed to be making it & Andrews shirt) and don't have the money for a sewing machine yet. MMmmm.

And Lunamel and Meauxna still glad for any food info but there is so much more here now available for me even in the super markets than when I was here last year.

    Take care all,

    Stella.

  7. We were planning on tieing the knot just 2 weeks before the 90 days of my visa is up but Andrew is a little worried it will not leave much time to get the paper work etc done in time. Any ideas if that is cutting it a bit fine, or if it is just strictly to be married before the 90 days is up?

Thanks all of us too here at VJ.

    Stella.

  8. Hi all downunders. Just checking in to say got here safe, everything is wonderfull and we are both so happy.

Gonna post a question on the K1 thread about timing and getting married. We were thinking of tieing the knot 2 weeks before the 90 days is up, but now we worry a little cause in case we need that paper work done a bit sooner. I guess it just says be married by 90 days, not to have the paper work done by then. Any thoughts here???

Cheers all and lifes great ain't it!!!!

    Stella.

  9. Gee thanks, well it is lucky I got one of those letters but now I think about it doesn't have them all on it just the ones she gave me on the day. My Doc had tried to give me some sample anit-anxiety pills for the flight, after I requested and I said ooohh you better give me a scrpit cause i know they can be funny. So she printed me up a letter as an after thought. Phew, didn't have one last time. Thanks so every one here and especially Angela. Vey thoughtful of you to send that email. Where would we all be with out each other. And thanks too Meauxna.

Well next time I write here I will be there. Wooo hoo.

Oh Kath would have been funny if we was on the same plane, I beat ya by one day. I would have known you too but you would have wondered who I was.

    Stella.

  10. Gee thanks Meauxna, yeah a couple of cartons just for the trip. (They forgot my special meal on the flight over last time and I was sure glad of that soya milk and gluten free/lactose free chocolate bars I had packed). I did find some stuff there and Andrew has some in the cupboard already but I must say I didn't like it much. Have you got the dreaded "silly yacks" disease too?? Couldn't find a tomato sauce in the supermarket and the health food shop one was horrible. I will join the Coeliac Association there as soon as I am able. But yeah will be very glad of any advice. Thanks again.

    Stella

  11. Yippee on the greencard Angela.

    Yippee on the greencard Angela.

Now I've got my bottle of fountain tomato sauce, gluten free worsteshire sauce, gluten free cookies, soya milk, six months of medication, my yummy gluten free mayonaise, mmm, now where am I gonna put my clothes. :o

    Stella

  12. Congratualtions again Kath &Rob.

Yeah the photo's of the place is a fabulous idea for those coming behind us. I already knew the building etc but still felt totally unsure I had it right on the day hurrying.

I fly out on Saturday. Pretty bloody excited, still got some organising and packing to do and I'm afraid my back has given up on me. But lifes good.

    Stella.

  13. Hey Jodie, my cousin used to work as a teacher for the distance learning mob. I got a feeling you have to be an actual resident of Oz to do it. I am leaving here in a week but if ya want some info let me know soon and I will try my best. Stella.

PS Actually I think you can from overseas at a heft price, but I'm often wrong. Seems you can study there anyhow.

  14. (F):dancing: Rob & Kath :dancing:(F) Yeah

:unsure: 5 emails on top of the, what was it 3 emails, phew they sure like to keep us wondering, what the....

And JC I know it don't help much but we've all been there, I wish you peace and strength in your waiting. (F)

  15. Goodness, I feel pretty silly now. Didn't get that at all. :jest: Mmmm, think I got a bit to learn. Mum says I got a sense of humour like wet dish-rag. Thanks Jodee, my imagination got the better of me.

Oh and the scary off-topics (I made it all worse I think with that) well I might keep that to myself, just read a few that started to make me a little worried about the mentality of a few. Just my opinion, and as we know what Matt says.

And sorry smushtag, I know nothing but someone else here may.

  16. Was gonna ask the same myself. Did a little investigating and they are all over this site. Sometimes with little bits of info and always with this little saying attached or just this. Got a feeling it's just someone with not much else to do and maybe with not even a real visa journey going on. I had a look cause when I got their "topic reply" my Outlook Express died and I thought I remembered that happening before. Was thinking maybe should tell Captain Ewok or something.

  17. WOW Angela, we just all full of the good news 'round here. Fabulous.

Well Matt you sound like my favourite kind a man (right after my Andrew and his boy Matt), your wife is a very, very lucky woman.

Thanks Karo too, and where's that man of yours, talk him into saying Hi so our token male, Scotty dosen't feel so alone.

And flossifus, well the visa would look prettier if it had Claudia Fisher or Angelina Jolies picture on it, but yeah, YYYYIIIIIIPPPPPEEEEE it will do.

Booked my flight for Saturday 24th. Flying to Tulsa where Andrew will then pick me up for the 2 hour drive from there, and I will be singing all the way "Only, 24 hours to Tulsaaaa....Only, 21 hours and 32 minutes to Tulsaaaa.......Only, 20 hours and 14 minutes to Tulsaaaa....Only..."

    Just love those Koala girls.

And where is that KaffyKat? She must be VERY, VERY BUSY

  18. As always Wenchie, you full of the good ideas. Might just start burning that speciality of mine I been cooking for 20 years. ;) Funny how us girls get all emotional when our cooking skills ain't up to scratch. And Matt a man who knows his way around the kitchen is almost as good in my eyes as a man wearing a tool belt, with hammers and real spanners :thumbs:

And just a couple extra for Kath , mojo, mojo, mojo. (ya got it sewn up though girl, just going through the motions really)

And guess what I got my passport back with my visa today :dancing: so Andrew said to get on a plane tomorrow, well I can get a flight Saturday, see what happens.

Question??? Do you have to have that x-ray for the immigration people at POE or can you just have it in your other luggage.

    Stella.

  19. Oooohh, that all happens with me and Andrew too, type the same at the same time "snap" and so many spooky things when we first met on the net. We have the same taste in most things too which is very unusal for both of us. Fairytale stuff. And although Andrew and I are mungrels as far as heritage, we both feel very stongly for our celtic heritage. I also have some gypsy and Andrew is part cherokee so we pretty well have nature based spiritualty. We are having a traditional celtic handfasting. Maybe the gods gotta do all this convincing cause one of us has to pick up and pack up their lives as they know it, to be with the ones we love. Yes we both feel blessed too, to find such a connection.

I'm sure you got it all sorted Kath. I made a wonderful file with all the added stuff, evidence of ongoing relationship, all the documents he sent copies of with the petition, his divorce papers etc etc didn't even get to unzip that folder with all those organised tabs etc. Had bought an A4 sized plastic box to hand in all the stuff at the first counter in order. That was a brilliant idea I had, no pulling things out of sleaves etc. But guess what I forgot, that dang envelope. Well I guess I thought I was going there to not even have an interview. Well lucky I didn't need it on the day. Really Kath I think you will only have to hand in that bunch of documents from the packet 3 instructions and you got the best evidence, Robbie there in person. Just don't forget they keep any original documents if you don't also have a photocopy of it. Then after sighting the original they just hand it back and keep the copy.

Ooohhh was that a moan I'm hearing all the way from Melbourne (F)

  20. Oh that screen is lovely.

Kath, do you mean what we call the "checklist" form, which isn't really called a checklist form, that you sign and send back, (I forgot to make a copy of that actually) or the front page of the pack that tells ya what to bring, that we get with packet 3 to say what documents we need?? there is stuff on here in the "guides" section too about what we should have with us and in what order. Sorry if I am missing exactly what you mean. Can't remember a form you actually tick off.

    Stella.

  21. Wow Kath!!! I will send you an email to chat some more on this another day, very interesting to me your Robbies a Druid. Oh you will be busy with him soon, weeeeee!!!!! Two more sleeps.

Been all over the country side the last couple of days, bit tired & busy today. And what is that in your little av. picture, can't quite make it out, nice blue colour on the walls.

Hey has anyone tried that lastminute.com to buy their flight tickets??

  22. Hee hee, yeah better book a room Kath. I don't mind the moaning stories one bit. Funny cause Andrew has dragon tattoos's. Can't believe I fell in love with a man with tattoo's (yikes) but they are part of him so I guess I like them now. That is great Robbie can go with you to the interview, excellent news. 4 more sleeps. Wonder if I'll hear it from here. Hee hee!!!

Mmm... may not worry about that insurance (just worry about luggage going missing really) but I just found a good one after all and covers me for a month. Was going to buy health insurance too as Andrew has none as yet. We were going to wait till we were married which could be a couple of months after I arrive now. I am a little accident prone ya see.

Yeah Mum asked me to save everything about mine and Andrews internet affair to turn it into a fairy story book. As if I'd let her or anyone else read that stuff. Amazing the things you find yourself typing when your madly in love and pining so, and you girl been pining longer than most.
