  1. Just to add to the "Administrative Processing" explanation...

After you have your interview, the CO has to enter the fact that you have been "approved" into the Embassy/Consulate system. This "approval" entry on the system generates an instruction to print visa foil (the page that is pasted into your passport). In some Embassies/Consulates, it appears that the visa foil is generated almost immediately after the CO gives you good news.

In other Embassies/Consulates, there appears to be a lag between the "you're approved" and when that critical visa foil is printed and applied.

This lag could be for many reasons. Perhaps they only print the foils once a day, or once every three days. Perhaps there is a double-check system where a supervisor has to look over all the approvals. Each Embassy/Consulate may have a different way to do it.

Last year there was a MAJOR glitch in the software that prints the visa foils, and it took nearly a week before the software was back online. Talk about people flipping out!!!!

So sometimes the "Administrative Processing" only means that you are in a print queue!!!

    Thank you

  2. If the interviewer said "The case seems to be fine" or anywhere along the same line, it means your visa will be issued but it takes a little bit of time for them to update it online. Thats what happened to my husband. The interviewer told him that the case looked fine after a few questions and told him he'll receive a text to say when and where to get the visa. And the status changed to issued in about 9 hours after the interview.

Thank you for your response. Yes, the interviewer told my husband his case looked fine.

That was on tuesday, April 7. I guess its just taking them some time to update it.

  3. This is a situation where they wee approved at interview. After interview your status changes to Administrative Processing.

Dependig on the embassy it can last a day to a few days then it changes to Issued.

The AP you refer to is the one when the CO didn't approve and you get usually a 221g form stating what is up (sometimes) more documents to turn in or they need more time to render a decision or investigation.

For Jamaica it usually 2 to 3 days it should change to Issued any day now. Nothing was asked of you to submit right. It was a straight approval at interview.

Correct, the iNterviewer told my husband everything looks fine. that was on tuesday.

  4. Mrs. M, my prayers are with you. Im sure everything well go well.

Neilsqueen, you are also in my prayers. My husband goes for his medical tomorrow. His interview scheduled for 4/7. Issue we have right now is he went to doctor today to find out he has Shingles. The doctor said it shouldn't affect his medical. He gave him an antibiotic yo take. Does anyone know if this will affect his medical?

  5. Hi, I am trying to sign into the Visa Appointment Service website to confirm our interview date at the Colombian embassy. They require the DS-260 number but the one that I am using from the DS-260 page is saying 'already been used'. Is there somewhere else I can look for the DS-260

i found this # on the paperwork i print from signing up as agent when i completed ds261 online. Its the confirmation number that is on the right of the case number
