an update...in case interested. i am now using earplugs...the foam ones. at first it was so uncomfortable but i've gotten use to it. i can still hear him snore...but it's muffled (no i did not put a pillow over his face. ) he's going to the doctor this March. i do hope it can be "cured" somehow. it's still better to sleep without earplugs.

did you have an employment letter when you filed the I-134 for the I-129F? are you currently still at the same employer?
what i did was use the my old employment letter and submitted it with the AOS...along with paystubs from the last 6 months. for the interview though...i got an updated employment letter...just in case they ask.

i would find it hard to end everything through YM with someone i wanted to marry. with a relationship as serious as this...it deserves at least a face to face discussion or break-up. well, just your luck...you're on your way to the Philippines soon...should have a chance to do that face to face talk...oh wait...that's not what you're going to do when you get there.
anyways...those two new girls are so lucky to have found you just when you are free. good luck!

^i used the Adobe Acrobat at work and try to do that with the G-325A. it worked...but i had to do it to all four pages! (there goes my lunch hour) apparently...it does not copy to the other pages. if you don't want the hassle of editing the G-325A fields...u might as well abbreviate as much as you can so that the + won't appear.

sorry to hear of your situation YnaYeBa0808...at least from your timeline...it looks like he will be receiving his EAD anytime soon.
i know that lots of people going to their interviews get approved right then and there...but that could have something to do with them getting their interview appts. 6 months after their NOA1...well...the ones i've read so far.
there are a couple of people here with March interviews at Los Angeles DO...we'll find out soon enough.
-
so i guess we're going to assume the worst. my husband might end up on FBI name check too.
i read that after the interview...the officer will ask for your EAD, AP card (if you have them)..will they still ask for the EAD card if your GC cannot be approved due to namecheck?

my husband took advantage of the down time to just chill...ps2, tv, dvd's etc...he also learned to cook and do household things (which he never had to do because he was "fortunate" enough to grow up in the Philippines ). he just received his EAD and we're going to the DMV on Monday to apply and take the written test. job hunting is his job at this time.
-
Check out timeline! My husband received his EAD today.
-
congrats to the newly approved and good luck to those with upcoming interviews!
steven...i know how it feels...minus the crying part though...
my husband just got approved for his EAD. one down...one more to go...
-
just got an email today re: EAD card production ordered! it says it will be sent within 30 days...how long does it usually take?
-
sure glad to hear others have the same "problems" too. i don't want to wear ear plugs but i should try it before i knock it. allergies and gaining weight are possible factors. he's seeing a dr. next week for a check-up. we'll get to the bottom of this soon.
i hope we can resolve it somehow...or at least lessen the volume. it can get so loud even he wakes up!
sorry i'm just cranky today. did not get any sleep.
-
my husband snores...really loudly at times. he says he wasn't like that back in the philippines. could it be the dry cold air? he gets congested easily...so we keep the windows open (even when it's cold outside...LA cold i mean...)...he uses prescription nasal spray and sleeps on his side. unfortunately, i don't think they work. could a humidifier help?
sleeping with ear plugs...sleeping in another room...or not sleeping at all are not acceptable options. (they could however be last resorts.)

the AOS interview letter listed the USC's birth certificate as one of the documents to bring...along with the Naturalization Certificate and US passport. i have the last two items but i don't have my birth certificate. i didn't submit one during the K1 process and the current AOS application. i may need to ask someone to get a certified copy in the NSO office in the Philippines and have it mailed to me.
for Naturalized US citizens...where you asked for it? just curious.

ninamyers Posted Jan 25 2007, 04:17 PM
Congrats and good luck My interview is 6th March in Los Angeles, so I'll let you know how painful it is once I've been...
thanks everyone! i did hope to be transferred without interview but this is just as good. can't complain.
ninamyers, i would really appreciate it if you can give us feedbacks re: your interview!
-
congrats to you both! i'm optimistic about getting my husband's EAD soon.

my husband just called me and said we received our interview date notice letter (Notice Date is January 19, 2007 Inteview Date is March 13, 2007.)
btw, last touch was on January 3, 2007. i just checked the website and my status date is still 01/03/07 for both AOS and EAD.
-
it depends on what is comfortable for both. my husband does not like see any of it (me on the other hand, i don't mind looking at his old pics...even if there are other girls in there...) but he does not care if i throw them out or burn them either.
i don't like throwing out old pictures and some letters. they are part of my life...no matter what...so i like to keep them. i kept all the old pictures and letters in one box and kept it in my mom's garage.
my husband knows it exist but all he asked is not to flaunt it in front of him.
if keeping old pics/letters was a huge problem and the only reason why we would fight...then i would definitely throw them out. however, it's not the case...so i get to keep them.

Ah, but you have a US passport. I think the Japanese are rather strict, and a traveler with a Philippine passport and US K1 VISA could have a little more trouble. Being turned back at Nagoya would be somewhat of a problem. It's funny NWA customer service couldn't answer my question, but like I said, it's not their problem if you can get through the security checks or not. The burden of making sure you have the requirements for a particular country is on the traveler, not the airline.
Anyway I booked Continental through Guam and Honolulu to LAX. NWA lost my business this time. All their customer service people could tell was to call international reservations number. Do you think the reservation people know anything about getting through Nagoya with a K1 VISA?
i went through Nagoya-Narita when i flew NorthWest when i first moved to the US. you get off the plane from Manila...walk a little bit to another terminal to board the plane going to the US (LAX). yeah, you go through a security check one more time but all you have to do is show your boarding pass (maybe ID/passport on this day and age of maximum security checks). heck i was 16 then...all by myself and i was fine. yes, it was only 55 minutes in between.

^it is not necessary to send originals for those things. copies will be great. besides...they probably won't ask for it anyways. at the interview, they will usually look at pictures and snail mail cards. well, that's what happened in my then-fiance's case.
-
i'm guessing that we will be interviewed...since almost everyone who recently went through the LA District Office had been. if the timeline here on VJ is accurate for our District Office, then i'm hoping for a mid- to late Feb interview. (also...hopefully my husband's EAD will be approved soon. he needs to drive...and work of course.)

well..A synonym for routine is procedure.
As I said in a previous post the extension of approval is routine but it is not automatic....the extension of approval is PROCEDURE...
I didn't say you shouldn't do it.
-
neither have i. please see timeline.
-
As long as the conditions (i.e. eligible to marry...etc.) for which the K1 visa was approved under (the time when you got your NOA2), then you should not worry about extending the NOA2. It is not the couple's fault that they did not get an interview within six months of the issuance of the NOA2. A lot of us here on this thread had gone through the process without having to send that letter asking for an NOA2 extension.
I'm sure if it was something that is (or was) a very important step in the completion of getting the K1 visa, trust me...it will be brought up here ASAP.

yes and check the receipt numbers...in case you miss a number or two. i hope you did not forget to include the first 3 letters for the receipt number.

^i resized way more than 4 fields per page...but it was worth it...it looked really good and clean.
it helps that i work in an office...and had all the supplies (bottom tabs with customize labels...etc...) i needed for an organized, polished application packet. my husband told me before that it looks too organized that they might think it was done professionally.
