I believe you have to file under your married name and definitely do a name change in all of other documents that will be pertinent to your petition. It avoids confusion.

I hope more visa experts are able to give you some advice but it looks like your sister is going to age out or cutting it close before a visa is even issued. Looking back at the visa bulletin for October 2015, NVC was processing April 2014 filers which means around this time you'll be expecting an interview letter. Good Luck in your journey, kabayan!

Good day. I would like to ask if a case number will be different from f2a and CR1. I filed for my spouse when I was an LPR I130 got approved. This feb I am scheduled for Oath taking. Today I got a mail from NVC (NVC Welcome Letter) about the petition of my husband. Should I proceed in filling out the DS231 or should I upgrade my petition once I became a Naturalized citizen?

I believe you can upgrade your petition from F2A to CR1. Also, they will need a copy of your naturalization certificate. Best to call USCIS.

You'll have to call USCIS. It seems like your NOA2 got lost in the mail. And it looks like it has been over a year that they received correspondence from you which there's a possibility that USCIS thinks that you abandoned your case. I'm sorry

I had my interview today, 08th of January 2016; 6:15 am schedule at US Embassy Manila. Flew all the way from Davao, I stayed at Bayview Park Hotel Manila, its located just across the street of USEM Manila

To start with, these are the things I brought with me in preparation with the interview:

1. ??Passport (valid in 6 months)

I went to USEM Manila at 5:00am, the line was already long, there are separate lines for SEAMAN/IMMIGRANTS/NON IMMIGRANTS. Then at 6:00am, they started checking and allowing applicants to go inside. The things that first checked before you get inside were: DS260, INTERVIEW LETTER and PASSPORT. Then, you will be instructed to go inside and pass through the scanner. Remember, electronic gadgets are not allowed (Flash drive, cellphone, tab, laptop, etc.) and also food and drinks are not allowed (but you can bring candies).

Step 1: Proceed at window 2 for priority number. You will be asked who's your petitioner and the petitioner's DOB.

Step 2: Before proceeding with the second step at the main building where the whole process takes, you will pass through a scanner again and bags will be checked by a guard this time. Proceed at pre-screening/Finger scanning area. Finger scanning first, then I was asked with few questions (Petitioner's name/DOB/ How did the petitioner get into the USA). And also asked if did I applied for a visa before, my answer was yes, I applied for a tourist visa before and yet it was denied. Then he collected few of my requirements (Cenomar/ NBI Clearance/ Marriage Certificate/ SLEC Sealed Medical Result).

Step 3: Then, I was instructed to proceed with Oath taking. It was an American lady. Then another set of finger scanning.

Step 4: Then, the most awaited interview with the American consul. I was luckily assigned to a male, smiling, kind and handsome consul. Questions asked to me were:

CO: State your name and your birthdate

ME: <stated>

CO: Who's your petitioner?

ME: My husband. <stated name>

CO: DOB of petitioner

ME: <stated>

CO: How did he get into the US?

ME: He was petitioned by his American step dad under IR2 category.

CO: Husband's job?

ME: <stated>

CO: Your address in the US?

ME: <stated>

CO: Do you have a child?

ME: None

CO: Have you ever been outside the Philippines?

ME: Yes! But just for vacation.

CO: What country?

ME: Been to HK, Macau, SG, Malaysia

He then handed me a pamphlet about domestic violence and instructed me to read and understand it. And finally he says the magic word, "everything is good, you're APPROVED!!!".

Step 5: Proceed for step 5 for the mailing address. The lady just gave me a piece of paper which explains how to register your mailing address online at ustraveldocs.com.

Yes! Was exactly done and out of the US Embassy Manila by 9:30am. Went back to my hotel, availed my free breakfast buffet and by 11:30am I checked my CEAC status and I was happy seeing it already updated to ISSUED.

What is Step 5 for?

Hi everyone! Im done with my interview. It was approved and I already checked CEAC 2hours after my interview and it says visa is already ISSUED.. Thank God! I'll be sharing my experience as soon as I got time.

Yes your case completed. About the interview scheduling refer to your priority date and visa bulletin then call NVC. And below is the list of the requirements you must bring on medical examination;

SLEC Medical Examination Requirements

1. Passport

2. Photocopy of passport biographic page (1copy only)

3. Online Registration form (if you registered online. 1 copy only). For those who havent registered online, you will be given and fill up forms in SLEC.

4. Interview Letter (2 copies)

5. 4pcs. 2x2 pictures (no earrings, ears must be visible, white background, with collar) write your full name at back of every picture.

6. Ballpen

I recently emailed NVC regarding any case updates regarding my petition for my wife. This is what they emailed me back..

"Dear Sir/Madam,

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been schedules, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview.

Also, is it possible for me to schedule an advanced medical for my wife and daughters? If yes, what document should I have them shown to get access? With the scheduling for interview, am I the one who's going to call NVC or them contacting me?

Count me in! My PD is 10/17/14. Paid the AOS and IV fees a month ago and gathering papers for AOS. What do I write under current individual annual income?

Hi all! This question is probably asked a million times here already but I can't seem to find a direct answer to my question. I'm currently petitioning my wife and 2 minor daughters. AOS and IV fees are already paid and I'm gathering the necessary information to submit to NVC.

I am stuck with I-864 and I-864a forms. I hope you guys can help me out.

On part 5 about sponsor's household size, do I include my son-in-law that I currently live with? Him and my daughter will be my co-sponsors. They filed jointly in their taxes.

On part 6 sponsors income and employment, what do I write under 6.c for current income for my daughter? Also, do I add my son-in-law as well because I'm going to use their income since they filed taxes jointly?

On part 13a.1 what do I write as total income? And where can I find that in the form 1040?

On i-864a, do I have my son-in-law fill out the same form because my daughter and him filed jointly in their taxes?

Lastly, on I-864a #10 regarding current annual income, where can I find the answer to that?
