  1. I am a US citizen and plan to petition my father. Though, I have questions about my situation.

    1. I acquired my US citizenship through my mom. She did the oath taking before I turned 18 which made me a US citizen automatically. I only have my US passport as a proof. I don't have a certificate of Naturalization. Will the NVC, USCIS or interviewer ask for the certificate? Or my passport will be enough? I know there is also an affidavit I can acquire explaining how i got my citizenship but cost like $1k something, it would not be worth it since it would make sense to just do the actual process  and only pay $500.

    2. My parents are divorced in the philippines. My mom remarried. Do I still need to submit their marriage certificate or divorce paper and/or my mom's marriage cert with her new spouse?

    3. On the I-130 form, it asks for my parents' given, middle and family name. Do I put my mom's maiden name or her current remarried last name?

    4. Also, if I the question does not apply to me, can I put N/A or leave it blank?

I appreciate any help and information.

    Thanks!

  2. DId you pay the $165 immigrant fee for the green card?

To apply for a SS#, go to the nearest SSA office and bring your original NSO birth certificate and your passport.

Yes, we already paid it before i went here to the U.S. but still accepted and no progress :/ It's been 5 weeks

    And 1 more thing, what's i-94?

  3. http://www.ssa.gov/ssnumber/

Open that link above and your questions will be answered. Yes you may apply for a new ssn card even without a green card. The stamp in your passport serves as your temporary greencard. Been there done that. I received my GC recently and it took 71 days for them to deliver it. Good luck! :)

Thanks for the very helpful information :) We're gonna go to the SS tomorrow to apply.

  4. Hello everyone,

So I've been here in the U.S. for 1 month and still waiting for the Green Card, and while waiting can we apply for the SSN? What docs. will be needed? Is there any forms to be filled up? What are the process? And can I apply even if i haven't receive my green card?

  5. In chicago you will just transfer the plane going to new jersey right?but chicago is the first state you will landed. .anyway..everything will be fine..for sure there's a lot prople who will ready to assist you..just relax?

So which one will be my POE? I just want to be prepared :D

  6. Toyko - For normal layovers you don't have to do anything with your luggage it will be transferred to the next flight, you just need to walk to the correct gate for that flight.

    Chicago will be your POE.

Uhmm, If Chicago will be my POE then in my next flight which is in Newark I don't have to go and fall in line in the customs again?

  7. You don't pay for an escort. Per airline policy/procedure with unaccompanied minors, you are automatically taken care of by airline employees. And as I said, Both United and Delta Airlines allowed parents to go through security to the boarding gate. When you check in at the ticket counter, the parent is given a one time special security pass.

    Really? Thank you :)

  8. What airline are you flying? Virtually all airlines have standard policies regarding "unaccompanied minors". When my daughter flew as a child alone with either United or Delta, both airlines allowed parents to proceed through security to the boarding gate. There the minor was met by a flight attendant and escorted on board the aircraft. During the flight, attendants check with the child. And same upon landing. Child is escorted by flight attendant off the plane and handed off to an airline employee assigned to them.

    Japan Airline and American Airline.

I'm 15 but my mom didn't pay for an escort so i'm a bit worried.

So my dad can go with me all the way to the boarding gate?

  9. Toyko - For normal layovers you don't have to do anything with your luggage it will be transferred to the next flight, you just need to walk to the correct gate for that flight.

    Chicago will be your POE.

Even if I'll change plane, matratransfer pa rin agad? Di ko na talaga kukunin? Kase hassle pa saken pag ganun diba

  10. I don't know if they will allow them inside to assist you, but no harm in trying.

At NAIA. As you approach the entry door on the right there are usually many Overseas Workers gathered, you need to walk around or through them to get to the entry doors (they use a different door so don't worry about "cutting in line" ) for the terminal, once inside there is usually a line for scanning the luggage, after completing that process if your EXIT FEE was not included with your airfare (normally is not unless ticket was purchased within the Philippines or through PAL) you will need to go to the counter that is between the two luggage scanners and pay that P1620 (normally, not sure of your age). Once your EXIT FEE has been paid you will go to the counter for the airlines that you are flying to check-in, once that is completed you will move toward the GATES, you will have one more process where you will present your passport and pay a TERMINAL FEE of P550 before walking to the gate for your airplane.

    Have a safe flight ~

Thank you for the information. And the flight my Mom bought me has two layovers and two change of planes. I'm worried because It's my first time to travel and i dont know what to do in layovers and change of planes too. it's much better if dire-diretso na lalo na wala akong experience internationally and im alone pa :/

  11. Hello, so my flight is on Monday morning and I'll be travelling alone (I'm a minor). I want to know if my father or family can go with me inside Naia Terminal 1 so they can accompany me and it's my first time to travel and i'm alone so i dont know what are the steps before departing :/

  12. Hi :goofy:

There is two office available for CFO Seminar Manila and Cebu. In manila you have to get an online appointment and here's the link for that

    http://gcp-appointment.cfo.gov.ph/

While in Cebu its a walk-in process first come first serve check the link for the address and other details

    http://www.cfo.gov.ph/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1345&Itemid=843

I'm just not sure if it is allowed to have companion during the seminar. You can get your certificate and sticker right after the seminar.

Hope this will help you. :)

I think the appointment thing is for the fiance visa. And the Peer Counseling Seminar is for the minors

  13. Age 12 and under do not attend, just need to be registered to get sticker. Which location is closer Cebu or Manila? Manila has the online appointment system, Cebu is still first come first served with very limited seating (12)

I'm 15 btw. And Is it true that first you have to go to PRISM or St. Mary's for seminar then cfo manila for sticker?'Coz I read some forums and i confuses me

  14. I just got my visa and I heard that a minor should attend a seminar at cfo and get a sticker before leaving the Philippines.

My question is, where is the best office to attend the seminar and get a sticker right away? And can my father come with me? Will he be with me on the actual seminar too?

    thanks in advance
