  1. Yeah, I got my NOA1 on Jan19 which was on a friday, and when I checked the USCIS website, they said it was already approved on Jan26 which is the following Wednesday. That's only 3 business days. I already checked and double checked last night 3 or 4 times and again this morning because I didn't believe it. But I'm already registered now with that site for updates and it still says the same thing. I was shocked because they said they were still working on petitions from December.

I don't know why this happened so fast. I know I'm extremely fortunate that I live in an area that processes very quickly . While I'm very happy about this, my heart truly goes out to people that have to go thru CSC and must wait that long period of time in between notices. I hope things will get better for you guys soon...

    Sincerely,

    Rick

  2. I posted this topic in the K-1 forum, but now I realize this forum is probably more appropriate....

I just called my fiancee in Indonesia and told her that our NOA2 was approved already. I think we're both still in shock it happened so quickly. I was just telling her this morning it would probably be at least 3 weeks before we got our NOA2 approved.

Anyway, I had a couple of questions about Jakarta Embassy. We would like to get the Police Report and Medical Exam finished ASAP.

    1. Can she go to the embassy now and pick up package 3 or do I have to get a case # from NVC first?

    2. When she goes for the interview, do her and her son's birth certificate have to be translated? I thought I read on the embassy website that she could bring Indonesian documents. But I think she will still need translated documents for entering the USA, right?

    3. I read she needs 2 photos for the medical exam and 2 for the interview. Is this correct...4 total? Also, will her son need photos?

As always, your advice and opinions are greatly appreciated...

  3. Thanks again everyone! Yes it is vsc.

I wish I could take credit for how fast this was approved, but I have to say in all fairness I pretty much owe everything to this website. I especially want to take time out to thank the senior members who helped me and everyone else in here. Specifically, people like Yodrak, Kaydee, and Aussiewench. There's no doubt the advice I was given here was a major factor to my expedient approval.

When I was ready to send my package, I had included every document that I had because that's what I thought you were supposed to do. At that time my package was almost 2 inches thick. I remember being in a serious thread here about what to send and specifically whether sending too much information could actually hurt you. After some intense discussion and specifically the recommendations from Kaydee, I made the decision to remove all references to "proof of relationship" and just give them exactly what they asked for. I believe this was a major factor in my petition being processed so quickly.

Thanks again to everyone here for helping me...and the Journey continues!!

  5. Hi All,

Glad to be back. I didn't realize how much I relied on this site and I think I was going through some withdrawl the last couple of days :P

Anyway, I just got my NOA1 in the mail Wednesday and just for curiosity I went to check my status at the USCIS website. This is what is says:

    Current Status:

This case has been approved. On January 25, 2006, an approval notice was mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.

Is it possible I already got my NOA2?

    Rick
