  1. Hi All,

Fiancee is Here  We tried to register her son at school, but they won't admit him without the physical and vaccination records. The only problem is my fiancee didn't get any copies from the embassy. My question is how do we get a copy of her son's medical record and vaccination so he can start school? After she turned the package into immigration at JFK, do they forward it back to the VSC? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Rick

  2. Hello everyone,

My fiancee will arrive here next week and I'm trying to start putting the documents together for the 2nd leg of our journey :) . Our visa was approved very quickly as you can see. Do I basically have to submit the same documents over again so soon? I'm not complaining but it's only been 2 months and nothing has changed since the end of february when I sent the package to her. :P I filed I-134 so I guess I still have to do the I-864 because I notice it says you need 3 years of tax returns and I only sent them 1. Anyway, I took a couple weeks off from this site to recuperate, and now I'm ready to dive back in again. I look forward to learning from your experiences and I appreciate any input and/or help...

  3. Hi All,

Just wanted to let you know that my fiancee picked up her visa from the embassy today. The interview went very well except for a problem with one of her documents. When she initially turned in the documents before her interview, she was told she needed to bring a document proving she has custody of her son to the interview. We discussed whether we should have that document translated, but according to the instructions they sent her, it said "All documents must be translated into English except if in Indonesian language". Since this document was over 20 pages long, I advised her it should be ok as it is. Obviously, it was not, even though their instructions said that it was. So, I guess every embassy is different but my advice would be to get ALL orginal documents translated to English, even if the instructions tell you different.

Anyway, that being said, my fiancee should be arriving at JFK the end of March  Thanks for everyone's help in here. We couldn't have done this without you  Now, I'll be moving to the AOS section.

  4. Hi All,

Well, my fiancee finally got the package 3 finished :D , but when she went to the embassy she had some confusion about a couple of the documents. According to her checklist she was supposed to submit the following documents:

    1. DS-230

    2. 2 copies of DS-156 for her, and 1 copy for her son

    3. DS-156K

    4. Checklist signed and dated.

When she went to window 4 to turn in the documents, the woman told her she needed another DS-230 for her son and she gave back the copy of DS-156. Also, she said my fiancee needed a certified copy of her custody report. I have a couple questions...

    1. Does she need to fill out a seperate DS-230 for her son?

    2. Does the custody document need to be certified? (she has a photocopy, but gave her original to her ex)

    3. She has to pay $200 for the visa fee. Does this have to be in US dollars or native currency?

I ask these questions because I have called and emailed the embassy on several occasions and got conflicting information from them. Any help would be appreciated.

  5. My bank has giving me an account verification letter also notary’s by an officer of the bank. In addtion, I Have a statement with current balance; date account was open and average balance for the past one year. They did not give me a detail statement for each month

my question is does this sound like is good ??

Second, question please I don’t want to open a new topic

Pay stubs should I be giving them copies for the past year or like maybe the last five or six. I do have all this copies for the past year I think that may be too much paper work

    Thank you

I have read many threads about this before here I just want another opinion

    Thanks

When I got my bank letter, they put the total deposits in the last year. I didn't get an "average balance". I also sent my last 3 pay stubs. It should tell you what you need on the I-134 instructions. Don't forget the employer letter.

    Good luck

  6. Could you people be so lazy as to provide all you can as soon as possible without having to be told to do so?

I find your comments insulting and your arrogance annoying.

I too was ready to send a 2 inch thick package but after discussions in this site, I decided to send exactly what they asked for and NO relationship evidence. It was 3 business days between my NOA1 and NOA2. As you will see from my timeline, I was approved blazingly fast in the middle of January when they were "officially" still working on packages from the middle of December. I'm sure a lot of people including myself are wondering why I got approved so fast. I can only surmise it was the organization of my package and the fact that they didn't have to review 100 pages of evidence that wasn't required at this point in time.

Whether this affects my fiancees chances at her interview remains to be seen but we have plenty of evidence and when my fiancee shows this at her interview, I don't believe it will make a difference whether they already had it before she got there. I guess we'll find out huh.. ;)

  7. Rick,

If Indonesia will issue passports to 10 year-olds, it may make things easier all around if he has his own.

Be careful to understand what 'N/A' really means - if you say to yourself, 'don't have', the proper answer is 'none' not 'N/A', even if the reason he 'don't have' is that he's only 10 years old. You should assume that every question is applicable - if it wasn't, it wouldn't be on the form in the first place.

    Hi all,

I'm helping my fiancee fill out the embassy forms this week and I noticed they said:

If your children will apply with you, one copy of form DS-156 for each child must be completed in full

She has a 10 year old son who doesn't have a passport. It looks like the form will contain a lot of "N/A" and "None". Also, on question #40, should she list herself as the person preparing the document?

As usual, your advice is greatly appreciated.

    Rick

Thanks. I will be very careful to use the correct response.

  9. You might want to check with her embassy on that. My fiancee is from Indonesia and when she received her document preparation instructions from the embassy it said the following:

All documents should be accompanied by English translation except if they are in Indonesian language.

Maybe each embassy is different, but they may accept documents like birth/divorce certificates in her native language. I'm still having my fiancee translate those documents for when she comes here and we have to fill out more paperwork for the AOS, etc. But you shouldn't have any problem here with spanish translation :P

    Good luck on your interview!
