I think K3 is a valid option. I'm going that route (K3 route). Already have a case # for K3 and it is about to be sent to the embassy for visa processing.
The embassy WILL process the K3 if not just to get the money for the filling fee and I've seen recent example of K3 visas from the US consulate in Casablanca Morocco.
My wife already has all the paperwork ready for the interview. Just waiting for the file to get to the consulate before paying the fees. getting the medical and scheduling the interview.
DS-160 will become available as soon as the file is shipped to the embassy.
OP, unless you are OK re-applying DCF (DCF available and paying the fees again is not a problem), go ahead and file the I-129F for K3. It is free, so you have nothing to lose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
