Hi VJ folks,
I'm somewhat confused here. Been reading some post regarding AOS but I haven't got the clarification that I need.
My husband's income doesn't meet the guideline so he needs a joint sponsor for the affidavit of support. He's brother volunteered to be his joint sponsor, however he will not be living in the same house with them next month. My question is, will he (brother) be filling up i184 or just the 184a form?

Sorry for the mess. I'm not sure why it posted that way.

I'm honestly not sure about getting a Checklist, but I am sure that you have to fill out parents detail on the DS-260. Perhaps there's a way you can get some kind of notarized/official document or statement from the government, or even a photocopy of your fathers passport with a written explanation as to the spelling differences. Maybe the best thing it to call the NVC and see what advice they can offer?
Thank you so much for the quick response! I have in hand an affidavit stating that those different names are one and the same person. But I will try to call nvc to verify it with them.

Hi All,
I have a question. I am the beneficiary and in my birth certificate, there's a clerical error with my father's name. Correct name is Michael but it was typed as Michel. Is there a high possibility that I could get a checklist for this? I already have this changed but It will take another 2-3 months before my birth cert will be corrected.
NVC received our case last May 2 and we are still waiting for our case number. We just want to make sure that we have all the documents ready for nvc.
Hoping for someone here to shred some light regarding my concern. Thanks in advance! ♡

@Icee14: that's great news! Hope there will be an update with regard to your petition the soonest.
@RobbieG: Thank you so much and God bless with your journey

Congrats. If I were awarded an I130 from the Philippines though after mere weeks of "waiting", I think I might celebrate in private instead of "happy dancing" in front of the rest of us who may have to wait a year....
Just a thought.
Well, it's just an emoticon which shows that I'm happy with the result. I didn't thought that this would be interpreted in a different way.

Congrats!
We dont received email notification also.
Yay thanks! I received the mail just this morning. Happy me!
Hoping that the rest of the folks here will have the approval soonest. Good luck guys!

I can't believe it. We just checked uscis website and our case was approved! But I don't see any email notification though. Is this really the confirmation? Or do we have to wait for the snail mail?
-
My wife is from the Philippines as well but we are not the lucky one i guess. Pressure builds up whenever I see that most of them were approved in less than a month but the thought that there are other folks who waited for their noa2 for almost a year just gave me patience to just wait.
-
The way I see it, there are march filers who were already approved. I guess it really differs. More waiting for us then.

just got our NOA2 today. I was literally crying when I received the email. God truly hears our prayers. Now the journey in NVC will begin. Praying for a smooth and fast process for everyone. Believe in the power of prayers
Wow! That is one great news! Congratulations! Good luck on your journey ahead.

It was routed to Nebraska and I am now able to check the status of our case through USCIS website just a few minutes ago.

Hi All,
I'm glad to see this thread.
My husband filed our I130 thread on Feb 28. Received noa1 through email on March 5 and through snail mail on March 10.
I know that it will still be a long wait for us to get our noa2 but at least we are getting there. Good luck to all of us and may we be with our loved ones sooner.
