  1. Hi VJ folks,

I'm somewhat confused here. Been reading some post regarding AOS but I haven't got the clarification that I need.

My husband's income doesn't meet the guideline so he needs a joint sponsor for the affidavit of support. He's brother volunteered to be his joint sponsor, however he will not be living in the same house with them next month. My question is, will he (brother) be filling up i184 or just the 184a form?

Sorry for the mess. I'm not sure why it posted that way.

  2. I'm honestly not sure about getting a Checklist, but I am sure that you have to fill out parents detail on the DS-260. Perhaps there's a way you can get some kind of notarized/official document or statement from the government, or even a photocopy of your fathers passport with a written explanation as to the spelling differences. Maybe the best thing it to call the NVC and see what advice they can offer?

Thank you so much for the quick response! I have in hand an affidavit stating that those different names are one and the same person. But I will try to call nvc to verify it with them.

  3. Hi All,

I have a question. I am the beneficiary and in my birth certificate, there's a clerical error with my father's name. Correct name is Michael but it was typed as Michel. Is there a high possibility that I could get a checklist for this? I already have this changed but It will take another 2-3 months before my birth cert will be corrected.

NVC received our case last May 2 and we are still waiting for our case number. We just want to make sure that we have all the documents ready for nvc.

Hoping for someone here to shred some light regarding my concern. Thanks in advance! ♡
