  1. Parenting 101: Redirect... Redirect. Keep in your bag "new" toys that he has never played with as it's new and different to him. For boys, I recommend things to put together or build. The best thing I found were Legos. Boys love to make things and Legos are so simple and you don't need a 1000 pc kit to keep him happy. Buy something that is simple for his age to put together. They love to make monsters and things that go as in vehicles. Reading to your child with picture books works also. Be interactive and ask questions of the character or theme of the book.

A tablet with lots of games on it will certainly entertain him. Don't over feed your child as this might possibly give him indigestion and now you have a whole new problem on your hands.

You will be fine Mom. Now relax and worry about the steps you need to complete to get to that day when you have this "new challenge" as you fly your way to America. Happy Trails.

Thank you so much for your tips and advises Greenbaum Hmm the legos sounds like a good idea. I will look him one. I already got him new toys that he hasn't seen yet, and I'll grab a few story and coloring books that would be great too. He doesn't have a tablet right now, I got one but I have to leave it to my brother because it's part of the Globe plan together with my cellphone :( But I will just prepare little stuffs for him and will keep him entertained when he is awake. Hopefully he will do fine and not get rowdy because I was worried that he might disturb other passengers :bonk:

    .

. Thank you again and may you have a wonderful day there. Take care and God bless :)

  2. I flew from the u.s. to the Philippines with my 2 year old son on delta some advice, bring plenty of snacks, if he has a tablet bring that as well, but if not no worries he will have plenty of children movies to watch.

My son played with his tablet and watch movies, when he was not sleeping of course. Keep him entertained and he will be fine.

Delta gives you lot of food to eat so eat up and enjoy your flight!!

I thought my son was going to be terrible because he can't sit still for more than 2 minutes. I was really surprised he was awesome. 11 1/2 hours one flight, then 5 1/2 from Japan to Manila and not one problem from him.

I wish you a safe and peaceful flight. I am sure your son will be fine!!

Thank you so much for your reply and advises derrickmichille. That's really awesome that your son did well with the long flight. I am preparing toys now that he did not see yet and just give it to him when he starts to get fussy but hopefully he will just be fine. I was just worried because he even complains and ask me when we will arrive even it's just an almost 2 hours flight from Mindanao to Manila, how much more the 5 hours to Japan, 12 hours to Detroit and another 2 hours to Charlotte. But I will try my best to keep him entertained when he's awake. Thanks again. Take care:)

  3. luvcjan: It's good that you are being proactive. As a rule of thumb, you should check a few days (or a week) before any flight to make sure nothing has changed and NEVER depend on what's printed on your ticket. This is even more important for a ticket booked months in advanced, a lot could change like dep time, arrival time, terminals, operating carrier. HTH

Thanks so much yannix.. I agree with you because that could really add delays if we have to transfer from T1 to T3 plus carrying our luggages and my son with me :girlwerewolf2xn:

  4. But hey the paranoid in me will call delta or tweet them to "make sure". My poe was seattle and other than the long line, everything went smoothly,i love delta! You can also dead poe reviews on visajourney labeled reviews:embassy/uscis&poe (upper right)

Yea, I will tell my fiance to call Delta just to be sure. Thanks again bookworm. My POE is Detroit so hopefully everything will be smooth. I have 3 and a half hours layover in Detroit so hopefully that would be enough time with the immigration line and security checks plus connecting flight to our final destination. God bless:)

  5. came to the US last june 28 on delta airlines, it was still on terminal 1 and my POE was detroit which was easy.officer asked me what i will do in US, told him im on k1 visa and asked for the packet from US embassy.and thats it.got my checked in luggages for 2nd security check at POE and checked in it again for my next flight to atlanta. happy trip to u..

Thanks so much for sharing your experience einah. My POE is also Detroit. Did they opened and checked what's inside in your luggage?

  6. Oh alright, Thank you so much bookworm. Just read the link. So Delta should also start editing their tickets to Terminal 3.

Octavio Lina, NAIA Terminal 3 manager, said the transfer of Delta Air went on smoothly, except for two dozens of US-bound passengers who did not get the announcement right and went to the Terminal 1 to board their flights.

“But we expected it to happen. So we had stationed buses at the Terminal 1 to ferry passengers to Terminal 3,” he said.

  7. Our flight with my fiancee will be on aug. 28 :) Based on our tickets (Terminal 1)

Thanks for your reply mcr. Our's will be on the 31st. I also checked our tickets and it says NAIA International so that would be Terminal 1. I heard that they would be moving this year to terminal 3 but not sure when it's official. I checked wikipedia just now and Delta is on Terminal 3..http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ninoy_Aquino_International_Airport

I flew Delta in Feb. it was that Terminal 1, The old POS terminal...

Thanks Vol..so its still Terminal 1 then

  8. Hello everyone, Is it true that Delta airlines will be at NAIA Terminal 3 ?? Our flight will be at the end of this month. Just want to make sure that we don't get lost by arriving in a wrong terminal. And also would love someone to share their experiences from NAIA to POE. It's our first time to travel international and your guides and advise's are greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot guys.. :D

  9. Congratulations! I have one question though if u dont mind. My interview is on Aug 11 (nextweek) & I have my CENOMAR in hand dated June 2014. Do you think thats enough or should i get a more recent one? Does it ever expire? Ur response is greatly appreciated Thanks! =)

Thank you erryen, I got mine I think in May or June and no problem with my CENOMAR at the interview. Like sweet cakes said it's good for 6 months so you're good to go. Good luck to your interview and God bless :)

  10. As part of the journey (K1 visa) is coming to a closure, many more journeys are ahead of you (AOS, ROC, USC, etc.)

and of course the biggest journey will be your marriage.

Hope ya have a great marriage.

Thank you and likewise to you as well. Yea there's still a lot of journeys and processing ahead of us, I am just happy that the first step to be with my love one is done. Praying and hoping that everything goes well too in the future. Thank you and God bless:)

Yay! Happy birthday and congrats! Safe travels soon! :dancing:

Thank you so much sweet cakes :)

  11. Yayyy I'm so happy :dancing: I can't believe how fast 2go is even I choose the home delivery and live here in Mindanao. I was expecting 7 days. They picked up my Visa packet yesterday August 6, 3pm from the embassy and they delivered it to my door 3pm this afternoon Aug. 7th which is also my birthday. The best birthday gift ever. Thank you so much Heavenly Father, US Embassy Manila and Visa Journey. Now, we have to start packing and fiance looking for tickets :) I wish the best and Good luck to those with upcoming interviews and to those waiting for their visas. God bless us all :)

  12. Oh no I really hope that you will be lucky and that you will receive it on time. My fiance sent the documents supposed to be for my interview last May in Priority Mail and until now I still did not receive it. I'm already done with my interview in July and those documents is nowhere to be found. We called both USPS and PhilPost and they don't know where the package is. We checked the tracking number and It left the US like in 2 days and somehow got lost in the Philippines somewhere grrrr..probably somebody at philpost opened it to see if there's check or money and just discard it. Lesson learned, never again we will send important documents or even presents and packages in Philpost. So just like the above poster's advice , just send it again through FedEx to make sure everything is ready before the interview. Goodluck!!

  13. Your asking questions that there are no concrete answers to. No one can predict when a date will open. There was a thread on this topic about a week ago with some good ideas to use to snag a date when one becomes available. Maybe it will work for you. 1943.gif

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/500549-stuck-in-5th-gear-need-help-with-mnl-consular-interview-k-1-scheduling/

Hello Greenbaum, thank you so much for this link. I will also do what they did to get a schedule..hopefully i'll be lucky to snag one since most of us waiting are using the add on. Take care and God bless:)

  14. If you think in terms of others, there might be a person who does not have all of their papers ready, has an appointment, and decides to cancel their appointment at the last moment to wait until their papers are ready. Cancellations are important right now when the schedule is so full with no open dates. So, one strategy (I've done this and others have as well) is to have your fiancée take the medical and wait in Manila. Perhaps stay with a friend or find an inexpensive apartment short term. Then, when you see an open date, get it, and you are in. Others will tell you to wait for the medical until an appointment is scheduled, but right now that strategy does not seem feasible when others are looking for a cancellation from someone else. These are my thoughts. Good luck, and keep refreshing--F5, F5.

Hello, thank you for the reply. I'm already done with my medical 12 days ago. Thanks for the tips. God bless:)

  15. Hey guys, I am aware that it's so hard to get an appointment date right now at the USEM. I just want to know any ideas to those who were able to grab an appointment, like What time did you see the available schedule popped up? Was it during the day or evening? or Was it during the weekends? Been trying for many days now but no success :( . Your response is greatly appreciated :) Thanks!!!

  16. Applications from the Philippines are expedited, you got approved in 43 days when the rest of us have to wait around 5 months. Not exactly relevant you posting in this thread really. Not trying to offend you but I'm sure this thread was started because us at TSC who aren't being expedited don't want to become more depressed seeing how fast you got approved. Perhaps just the regular March 2014 thread for you?!

I know I sound mean but that post angered me slightly.

OMG  I didn't mean to angered any of you at all. I just seen the OP post titled March TSC so I just also added my comment since I'm a march filer and from TSC. I seen members in here from other countries got approved fast also. And yea that's very rude of you to attack me like that. I'm so sorry that you're so bitter of me just because you did not receive your NOA2 yet. I wish the best for you and that you will receive yours very soon. It doesn't mean that I got my NOA2 that I will also be processed fast at NVC. I seen people in here got stuck in NVC for so long or might have problems that delays the processing. We just started in this journey and still got a long way to go to be able to be with our love ones. If you and the OP are that mad of my post then message the administrators then to remove my post in this thread. I do not want to argue any of you to the post I did not intend to cause craziness and OA reactions in here. Good luck to all of us in this journey to be with our love ones.
