CASE COMPLETED OR NOT YET ???

Immigrant visa petition ________ is currently on a list of completed cases awaiting the availability of visa numbers. This petition will be eligible for an immigrant visa interview when a visa number is available per the Department of State's Visa Bulletin. The current edition of the visa bulletin is available on the following website:

    http://nvc.state.gov

The visa bulletin contains a list of cut-off dates divided by foreign state chargeability and preference category. Only petitions with a priority date earlier than the cut-off date are eligible for a visa and consular processing. This petition's priority date, foreign state of chargeability, and preference category are given below:

Please note that the applicant(s) on this case should not make commitments such as disposing of property, resigning employment, or confirming travel arrangements at this time.

We are unable to expedite the processing of your petition, as there is no visa number currently available.

The petition's priority date determines when a visa number is available for the principal applicant. The priority date is the date when the petition was filed at a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) office or submitted to a U.S. Embassy or Consulate General abroad. In employment immigration the priority date may be the date the labor certification application was received by the Department of Labor (DOL). For further information on which priority dates are current and ready for visa processing, you may call the Department of State's pre-recorded cut-off date announcement at (202) 485-7699, or visit the Department of State's online Visa Bulletin at the following website:

    http://nvc.state.gov

Please note that the applicant should not make any firm plans, such as disposing of property, giving up jobs, or making travel arrangements at this time.
