  1. Hi ddss,

you don´t need to send anything, just bring everything to the interview. If you previously sent the originals to the USCIS or NVC, than bring a copy of every document. If you only submitted copies, then bring all originals plus one photocopy of each.

AND of course the passport, confirmation page of the DS-260 and interview letter (all pages) :)

  2. Hi Avandongen,

i know, so shortly before the interview this last step, the nerves are wrecking. You really gotta read the instructions carefully. Behind every line there is a letter in Caps and the explanation to each is on one of the other sheets.

These letters are standards, and only those letters vary according to different cases. So "F", for example, stands for: NVC didn´t request a certain document for your case, so it´s not needed for the interview either. Just read what those letters stand for :) .

I hope that this is an answer you were looking for to ease your mind. Try to calm down and read through the instructions again.

Everything will be fine in the end

    :goofy:

Whatever document you´ve ever sent to the NVC, just bring it again in copy plus the originals of course if you only submitted copies. :star:

  3. Woohooo, congrats to all for your interviews. It is so thrilling that we will all be hanging around in the embassies in May. Sooo many peeps that were hoping and praying for this long road to finally end, and here we are!!!:dance::dance:

All the the best to everybody and good luck with your upcoming interviews.

For all still waiting, your interviews will be there very soon, and we will all be celebrating together. Gooood luck!!!! :goofy:

  4. I think you are right. The status change was crazy today. I just logged in to see how it looks now. LOL

Thank you so much and I wish you good luck too for your interview. :goofy: :goofy:

Haha, yeah, i know what you mean. I did the same exact thing, just out of curiosity i logged in, even though i kind of knew what it would look like. It´s just sometimes seems all so surreal, after more than 16 month in this freakin process.

  5. So the CEAC Visa status changed from "NVC" last night to "ready" this afternoon.

I thought "Ready" means the file arrived at the consulate. I doubt that it will be from scheduling interview (04/20) to "ready" within a day.

I hope it won´t be just an update by consulate to re-schedule interview!

Jamy, i really do think that they had our interview dates already set, but we didn´t know. So they probably mailed off the files earlier than we knew it. The CEAC also says that current processing site is Frankfurt.

That is exactly the reason why i never called them again, cause of so many different infos from the reps. Never helped me in any way

I wish you good luck for the interview :goofy:

  6. Guys,

a thought just popped into my mind again (too much thinking about why are no interviews scheduled).

What is if they going from the 60 days timeframe? The March CCs got reviewed way under 60 days. So what if the interviews now get scheduled 2 weeks after the 60 days would be over although CCs were sooner?

You won´t believe it, but i asked myself the same question. Maybe that´s the deal, but i´m also wondering, if it wouldn´t be easier to just get rid of all these files by scheduling interviews and just mail them out to the embassies. Why would they wanna sit on those files for so long?

I was also thinking, if they only wanted the tax due date to be over, so everybody would have to bring their new taxes, without any ifs or buts. Who the heck knows.

  7. Just got off with NVC. Nice rep gave me some background info (not sure if it is correct but I share it anyways).

NVC interview departement has to release the interview information into their system, then the phone rep can see the info. That happens when an interview is scheduled.

Rep also said that they are still scheduling for May. Unfortunately I was so shocked not to here the same story that I forgot to ask if that applies just for Frankfurt / Germany or in general. :(

Listening to her the thought popped into my mind that the delay of interview scheduling might be because of the guys from interview departement are working on CCs to get off the workload and so nobody is there for scheduling? Just a thought....since there isn´t any interview scheduled no matter what embassy or consulate.

    Thanks for sharing Jamy2014.

Ughhh, this is sooooo.. .well, don´t wanna loose my temper on here, i just do this here :ranting: I would have rather waited on my CC til now but getting an interview right after, instead of waiting this long for a damn interview date. Well, nothing we can do about it but wait and sit it out. Wishing everybody a huge load of patience. :girlwerewolf2xn:

  9. Received both official Case complete emails for my son and me today. Now waiting for an interview date. Hopefully it will be real soon. Hoping for May interview. :dancing:

SD: Dec 11th 2014 CC: Feb 5th 2015 (my case with checklist)

    SD: Feb 18th 2015 CC: Mar 26th 2015 (son´s case with 2 checklists)

Good luck to everybody still waiting on CC´s. We will all eventually get there. :goofy:

  10. Ok, I have another question/issue- and others may want to be aware of this before filing your taxes that includes a non-resident alien spouse.

So it looks like the IRS is requiring me to file for a W-7 for my non resident alien spouse (he is Swedish and is NOT in the US) in order for him to get an ITIN- even though I am filing (and have filed in 2013/2014 as Married Filing Separately). I have seen on this forum that people who are Married Filing Separately are puttin NRA (non resident alien) in the part of tax form that asks for spouse SSN. Well, I did that and received a notice from the IRS 6 months later that they can not accept this. We already filed everything with NVC and have received our first checklist...but this issue was not part of the checklist. However, I was not able to provide my amended 2013 tax transcript because the IRS will not process it without an ITIN # for my spouse (and the w-7 form takes up to 8 weeks to process).

I am now crossing my fingers that NVC will accept my printed copy of 2013 1040X (and not the official transcript) since I cant get it without filing for W-7 and getting ITIN # for my spouse. I am not sure if this is a new change with IRS, or what. Just wanted everyone to have a heads up that this may be another hurdle...and to file for the w-7 as soon as possible so you can file your taxes with properly and not get messed up as I have.

My question, has anyone run into this? Are you all aware of the w-7 needing to be filed for non-resident alien spouse so you can put an ITIN number on taxes even if filing separately? This may need to go into wiki if so...

    http://www.irs.gov/publications/p501/ar02.html#en_US_2014_publink1000220762

So this is what i found on the IRS homepage just now, and it´s still stating, that you should "NRA" if your spouse doesn´t have a SSN or ITIN or isn´t required to have one.

I really think it is a grey zone and it depends on who is working on your file. Or it simply hasn´t been updated yet

  11. Congrats! Let´s hope that Frankfurt is fast with the interview! :)

Thnx Jamy2014. Btw, my eldest son´s name is Jamie :D Ohhh yeah, i can´t wait. What do you think? Early, mid or late May? I would like a date after the 21st, cause then i´ll have a 2 week vacation ;) but of course after this long process, i don´t dare to being picky, lol.

Crossing fingers for a soon date though :goofy:

  12. hey!

yes, im immigrating with my daughter, she is 14 years old. we had our problems at uscis, like i said i was approved half year befor she was. that was very frustrating for me cuz i couldnt even be happy about my approval, i was worried out of my mind. but finally her case arrived at nvc last week, my husband called them right away but they said to wait for 42!! days just for the case number to be assigned, this is driving me crazy.

do i understand right, u sent 2 aos? i thought one would be enough?! but u pay only one time, right?

im gathering all the documents for the packages, did u send ur "führungszeugniss" without a translation too?

im in the process of selling my house right now and i have ppl who are willing to buy it, but im not able to tell them any timeframe, its frustrating. in the whole process i got so stressed out that i literally got sick and have to see so many doctors now. i wish i knew how to take it easy but i feel like its been too long and the feeling of being helpless is just making me sick. hopefully it will change at nvc, cuz here i can atleast participate to a certain degree.

Yeah, we only paid AOS once, but every intending immigrant needs their own AOS file. I had my "Führungszeugnis" translated and i already got a new one since they are only valid for 6 months.

Well, i had our case# i guess after 3 weeks but it´s taking a lot longer these days. Telling a time frame is really hard, i was originally going for April. Now it seems to be more July/August, which i´, hoping for, cause in September my son would have his first day of school.

Sorry that you got sick cause of all the stress and hopefully everything will be processing alot smoother for you at NVC.

  13. Thx for the quick answer :)

I have translations for all of my documents except for the police certificate, cuz i needed them for uscis anyway. I ordered international birth certificate for my daughter but i was born is udssr so i had to translate mine .

may i ask what the checklist was for?

i got approved at uscis almost a half year ago but my daughter just got her approval last month so we're waiting for her case number to be assigned, this is so upsetting :(

    Hi iri,

so you´re immigrating with your child as well? I´m in the same boat as you are, and so far i couldn´t find any other member from Germany being in the same situation. I have my son immigrating with me and we have been at the NVC stage for almost ever. It´s the 8th month already :clock: Our petitions got approved at the same time at USCIS, but NVC lost his AOS package when we first sent it. Unfortunately they didn´t mention it correctly in the checklist we got for his case. They only said that they would miss the AOS form, which lead me to only mail in the form itself, ugghh. So after 60 days we got a second checklist, that they need a written statement, why my husband didn´t file taxes for 2013 and that the return is missing :wow: . Obviously there was a 2013 tax return since we sent one with my AOS and i got my Case complete already, but now we gotta wait again 60 days. I thought the cases would be linked and they could see, if docs were already sent :bonk: I do think they want to give us an interview at the same date, so i have to wait til my son´s case is gonna be complete :ranting: I tell you, this is soooo very frustrating and i really do hope and wish for y'all, that you´re gonna be through this stage real quick.

May i ask you how old your daughter is?

    Best of luck! :goofy:

  14. Good morning all :-)

Could anybody tell me if i really have to send a new AOS form with my checklist response, even there was nothing wrong with it? They only requested the 2013 tax return again for my son´s case.

It would make things sooo much easier. I could just send it right away, without having to wait for my husband to sign a new one and have it mailed to me. :clock:

Thanks in advance and have a great day :goofy:

  15. Congrats to all the recent CC! :)

Unfortunately we did get a checklist yesterday, Feb. 5th for AOS (somehow the box of total number of immigrants wasn´t checked - stupid mistake I know).

I searched VJ up and down, googled but couldn´t find a correct answer.

The cover letter says it takes 60 BUSINESS days to review the checklist. What is if the police certificate expires before they review the corrected AOS?

Do we get a second checklist then for expired PCC or is it better to send them a new one with the corrected AOS without them asking for it? Or do we bring a new PCC to the interview?

Can someone confirm that or is there a slight chance it will be 60 CALENDAR days for checklist review?

    Thank you so much!

    Hi Jamy2014,

we got a checklist in early December 2014 and only yesterday i got a case complete, though my clearance expired at the end of January. So i guess you´re good, but make sure you take a recent one to the interview. But i do think you could just send a recent one with your checklist response.

    Good luck :goofy:

  16. No they wont forward your case to the embassy until you and your son have both your case completed. That is the same thing with my husband and daughter. I am waiting for a case complete for my husband. His scan date was 1/2. My daugther got her case completed. Like i said, they wont send her papers to the consulate til my husband's case is complete. I am getting impatient here bcoz i had been waitng since november and they keep asking me for a checklist. They would have been done last February but bcoz of a freaking checklist, i am still waiting til now. I am doing my best not get deppressed. I am so sad everyday, i mi my husband and my daughter. I havent seen them in 1 year and 3 months already.

Grrrr, what a mess... .I mean if they would just forward it, it would be really time saving for us. After i already had my interview and were approved, i could already give the 3 month notice to my employer and landlord, while waiting on my sons case complete and interview. We couldn´t leave any time earlier anyways but everything would have been taking care of.

I just hope there is no other checklist  Well, but i always see my case complete and this is kind of a roller coaster feeling. One moment happy, the other one sad. But staying positive is the solution, like with everything in this slow process... Good luck for a soon cc for your daughter!

Y'all have a great day and weekend :goofy:
