  1. I don't really go in weekly, I only make sure I check in with the recruiter sometimes through phone. More so, I was told I need to do the 1-1-1 PT assessment to know where I'm at. I did that and I passed it the first time so I was told It's not mandatory to be joining them for PT. I do PT personally every week and I've done the whole 2-2-2 a couple of times with other future soldiers that are shipping out in a a couple of days. And sometimes, the soldiers at the recruiting invite me to join them for PT. So your recruiter will tell you how often you need to be checking in, whether in person or via phone and when you need to show up for PT.

Kool. So you can run the 2 miles in 17mins or less... right?

I'm having serious issues with the 2mile run stuff.

  2. Not really a big deal but involves lots of waiting. Involves hearing and vision test, your vitals, they'll draw blood and you'll pee. Then you'll see the meps medical officer for an interview, he'll ask you to cough while observing your genital. Then you'll be in a room with other applicants strip down to your underwear and you'll do some physical activities while the doctor observe. If you complete the medical, and doesn't have any issue, the doctor will recommend you for military service and you'll be done with medical. That's when will see your liason and be enlisted and be sworn in. Good luck

Kool... I'll update you how it goes tomorrow.

What do you think about changing MOS. Really want Information Technologist... But couldn't get it cos if the secret clearance thats for only citizens.

I got 15Y though which is Aircraft Avionics Systems Repairer.... It's also Kool though. But I prefer the Information Technologist....

So plz... Do you have an idea of CHANGING MOS?

  3. Nice one bro, you got your temporary reservation before physical that's good.

The 6 months they say is for government to be able to do a thorough background check on non-citzens, green card or through mavni. I was initially scheduled to ship by June but was pushed back to august.

    Good luck bro

Thanks Bro. So what's the physicals going to be like?

  4. Hey guys...Nice to be here at VJ again.

Got 19Y starting from E3 cos I did an evaluation of my OND from Naija and the equivalent is Associate Degree.

Going to MEPS Tuesday/Wednesday this week for my physicals and if everything goes well... I'll be going to basic training by September.

What's up with this new waiting 6months before going to basic training for green cards holders?

  5. Hi everyone, so this is just another update on my journey as a new LPR. I arrived on October 9th to Boston and was told that my green card would arrive in the mail in the next 3 to 6 months. From reading online, I figured it wouldnt take so long, however after 6 weeks still hasnt shown up and I started getting a bit anxious. So for those of you that are in the same waiting process, I wanted to share a tip that maybe you all already knew but dumb me, just figured it out yesterday. So there IS a way to track your green card after POE. For those of you who paid for the new immigrant fee of $165 before your arrival, or even after. The receipt you get from USCIS which says your payment has been received has a Receipt ID on the top right hand corner which I never thought would work as a USCIS case number. Yesterday it dawned on me that this was the case number so I went on USCIS´s Check My Status which I had not used since the tracking of my initial I-130 and used the Receipt ID that I just mentioned and VOILA!!! First, it said that on Nov 18th my new card was being produced. Today, I checked again and this is the latest update

    Card Was Mailed To Me

On November 23, 2015, we mailed your new card for Receipt Number IOE60xxxxxxxx, to the address you gave us. If you do not receive your card by December 23, 2015, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we send your new card to you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

    Thanks Dave

But I still don't get it

    What I have is

    Pay.gov Tracking ID

    Agency Tracking ID

I received both of them via email as soon as I paid the $165.

The other one I have is the i-130 confirmation USCIS sent me early last year at the start of the entire process

How do I know my receipt ID you're referring to ?

Is it a hard copy receipt from USCIS.

  6. We had our interview this morning in Jerusalem, and have been approved!

Surprisingly I was allowed to go in my husband and took the oath and did interview with him. Questions were very straightforward, obvious the CO had read all of our papers and knew our case well. Glad to know that someone read the substantial file we had prepared with such thought and effort. They didn't even ask for a paper we got in a checklist back in August (though of course we had it), they only asked for the original civil docs, passport and photos mentioned in the interview letter. The thick file we had with copies of everything we ever sent to NVC remained unopened. The CO was very nice, at some point I felt like I was doing too much talking (she started glancing over to my husband) so I just stayed quiet and let him take over.

At the end she said "you qualify for a visa, you're approved, congratulations!" :)

His visa is now being printed in his passport, they didn't say how long it will take, but it sounds like we'll get it back within a week or 10 days.

A big thanks to everyone on VJ and a special shout out dhwheels for sharing advice & experiences - what a great community here!

dhwheels please update our status! :)

    Congrats

  7. Hello everyone by God's grace I completed my interview today at Mumbai... I am happy that my visa is approved...

15 months of sleepless nights and worries comes to an end...

Last night was so terrible that I cannot breathe properly because of mixed reviews about visa approval.

My interview time slot is 7.30 I reached at 6am and waited till seven until consular officer called us.

Stepped in and got all the fields scanned.

Note:no phones and electronic items allowed

Post security clearance got inside embassy and they gave us token according to our language preferences.

Tip:select native language coz I sawhim getting called immediately for language preferences. (i waited almost an hour as I chose English)

Then my number flashed on screen and I moved to the counter. She was a beautiful lady asked all my documents in order below

    Passport

    Ds260- given at ofc(biometric)

    Photo pinned to Ds260

    Pcc

    Medical sealed packet

    Marriage certificate original and xerox

    Birth certificate original and xerox.

The officer collected all doc and asked me general questions as who applied and where I am going.

She then gave me domestic violence pamphlet and asked me to go through it as visa consular might ask

I waited for my turn again and read those information carefully

Number flashed and I stepped to the counter again.

    Took oath

Very few basic questions and he took my left finger impressions again

He explained about domestic violence and harassment policies and told.me those magical words YOUR VISA IS APPROVED and gave me white sheet for the same.

I carried all documents to support but CO did not review.

    Pfb documents required

    Financial evidence

    All my educational certificate

    Work experience certificate

    Resume

    Chat logs

Emails and travel itenary for the placed we travelled

Be calm and confident and we will succeed.

Mumbai has been so pleasant for me.

    Thank you

    Congrats

  8. Hello everyone, i did not post allot in the forum but have been following every thread that has helped me answer all of my questions and go through the final stages of this process feeling more relaxed and able to see progress and similar experiences like mine. Yesterday was our interview at the embassy at the Dominican Republic at 8:00am. We got to the embassy at around 6:00am and it was already packed. We brought our 1 year old son with us and got sent to a line for people with kids and got a chance to enter the embassy much sooner than expected. we got number 29 and waited for about 20 minutes for our number to be called. The first time they called us the person only requested my wifes paperwork (police cert, marriage cert and medical exam), baby's birth certificate and naturalization certificate and gave me back a packet that was label additional documents, and told me those were everything i had sent NVC that was not needed. He then advised us to sit down and wait to be called again. After about 40 minutes of wait after that, we were called again, this time it was the official. She was a very nice lady and smiled all the way. She looked at the papers and everything was in order, didnt ask a single question eiher to me or to my wife and joked that we were about 1 out of 2 couples that were migrating to florida as everyone here in the DR usually go to new york, after writing something in the computer she then looked at the AOS and asked me if i had another sponsor besides me because my income wasnt enough i told her i did and that i had sent the sponsors i864 packet to nvc as well. It turns out they never got it and they were only showing me. She asked if i had a copy with me and out of all the information that i did have, that i didnt. it was frustrating, she gave my wife a white papre for her to mail in the packet and that she would hear from them as soon as they recieved the i864 from my sponsor. I asked if i could bring it myself to the embassy instead of mailing it and she told me i could. She gave me a embassy access pass to come back anytime until the 15th and to go to a specific window to hand everything in. I left very frustrated and when i got to my car and checked my phone (no phones allowed in embassy) i had recieved the full packet by carrier and was waiting for me to go pick it up... we were able to get it from the postal office and drive back to the embassy in about an hour. We went back to the embassy and once we entered i was able to go to the nice lady again, she looked at everything and said ok your vsa will be issued today and it will be delivered to the locaton you preselected. Checked ceac status yesterday and said administrative processing. Today i checked again and now it says issued!!!! i am so happy to have finally finished this process after starting it back in december of 2012. Just wanted to share my experience with al of you as this forum has been of incredible help to me once i decided to join as one of its members back in july. I appreciate all the help i found and how he spreadsheet allowed me to stay at ease while waiting for my interview.@@ Good luck to everyone waiting for there interview day to come and to everyone in this dreaded process...!!! WOOHOOOOO SO HAPPYYYY :joy::joy::joy::secret::secret:

    Congrats

  9. Well they asked

    Why did u married her

    When did u meet her

How many times did u had sex

    When did ur parents died

    Who was there in wedding

She didn't saw.anything.. Entire time typed and typed

    Sex life.... Unbelievable!!!!

I think you didn't give enough convincing response and the VO suspected some issues with the marriage been genuine....

Is your spouse from India? I mean an Indian like you?

If your spouse is not... And perhaps someone from another race... Say being white for example.... It may be a red flag...

Also... If you met your spouse on the Internet... That may also be another red flag...

Have you ever been convicted of a serious crime or perhaps been deported from the US..

These a issues that I think makes the VO suspicious...

    I may be wrong though.

    So sorry about your case..

Perhaps with USCIS... They may be hope

    How did you

  10. i hv completed choice of agent & paid aos fee bt i'm unable to pay iv fee...now can i submit aos&civil documents before paying iv fee & before submitting ds260 or should i wait to pay iv fee???any information would be apreciated...thnx in advance...

Don't worry... It's the usual process. As soon as your DS261 has been reviewed.. You'll have access to pay for IV FEES.

Can't remember how long it will take to be reviewed though... I think it's two weeks... Check my timeline or better still.. Call NVC to tell them to review it.

People sometimes send down civil docs before filling DS260 but I won't advice you to follow that path cos you may end up messing up your application as many here on VJ are currently facing...

Don't worry.. No need to rush cos you'll get a lot of time to complete every stage of your application before getting current...

In the main time start getting all other docs like police clearance ready.... Good luck

  11. Guys i just checked my CeAC login...now i see affidavit of support fee becomes N/a...its already 3 n/a...did they stop scheduling for oct IL? When will they start scheduling for nov?

Guys i just checked my CeAC login...now i see affidavit of support fee becomes N/a...its already 3 n/a...did they stop scheduling for oct IL? When will they start scheduling for nov?

Anything can happen for October.... But they'll start scheduling for november interviews by this month's end

  12. Just go through the letter thoroughly...

Each documents is assigned to a letter... I mean those F, J, K stuffs.

For example, You submitted the photocopy of your police certificate, marriage certificate and birth certificate..... Now during your wife's interview, she has to provide originals of these credentials...

With regards to the text return.... I'm not sure what the extension means but I know you have to submit tax return and W2 of the previous years.... These are also to be submitted in originals as you submitted the photocopies to nvc

  13. Administrative Processing... No one knows how long it would take as each case is unique.

The simple truth is that the rate at which you divorced and got married asap put some suspicion of immigration fraud in your case...

Don't get me wrong please. I'm not saying your marriage is not genuine.

Now what the embassy is doing right now is verifying your case and credentials involved to see if anything fraudulent is involved... You being in the military is a good reason the embassy trust you to an extent.

As soon as they are done with whatever verification they are doing... They'll call your wife to come pick up her visa.

Mind you...Ghana is also likely a high visa fraud country...

Regardless as long as your marriage is genuine and all credentials you submitted are genuine... You have no reason to fear...

By the way, we're you the one that won the visa lottery or your previous wife...

If it was your previous wife that won.... Then it puts you in a very hot spot my brother
