  1. Ugh.

My (former) attorney submitted our I-129f (which has been approved 8/10/07)) with incorrect contact information for my fiancee (street address is an old address and telephone number is also out of date) and my address and phone number is also out of date. She basically put old information in and not the current information. :(

Since the paperwork is probably still have NVC, I'm not sure what to do...

Try and fix it there or ride it out until it gets to Brasil? If so, how would I go about fixing it???

This attorney has screwed up so many things, I'm amazed we got approved at all!

(On a funny side note, I'm divorced, on her cover letter she listed the contents of the packet and listed "1 - Divorce Degree". Ummm I have a degree in Computer Science, not divorces....)

  2. How do you tell if your status at the NVC? is there a website to visit like the USCIS?

    here you are .

    Maybe I dont understand something...

Why would the NVC be using a web site based in the Philippines

    ??

    Checking that web address returns the following;

  3. Hi all!

Can anybody give any some updated info on K1 Visa processing at the RJ counsel?

After NVC sends the K1 package down, how long before you were notified about Package 3?

How long did processing take after the interview until you were able to pick up your passport?

I ask because I am trying to plan my PTO (personal time off) at work so that we have enough time when the interview hits. I've heard it usually is 2 days, but the emabassy web site is now saying 5 days. That could really screw up my time off from work dependign on how long I am down there for the interview with my girl :(

"All Other Nonimmigrant Visas: 58 Days"

"Typical Wait Time (Workdays**) for a Nonimmigrant Visa To Be Processed****: 5 Days"

  4. Ok, I've searched and read but haven't found what I'm looking for. Maybe I did but I am too blurry eyed to see it....

We received our NOA2. Is it possible to go ahead and prepare all of the Packet 3 paperwork and once the Counsel in Brasil receives the I-129f package, have my fiancee go to the counsel and drop off the already completed Packet 3 without waiting for them to send it out? This seems that it would cut out about a month of waiting time...

    Thanks!

    Eric

  5. Well, I got rid of her today. It turned into a big argument and I proved her wrong on every point so it was kind of fun actually...

NOW, Im nervous about everything that we need to do before the interview, but Im sure with the help from VJ we'll be ok.

(Silly lady was telling me I still have many months to wait because they are only processing applictions from Jan 13th. When I said, thats funny because I was notified this morning of my approval. There was dead silence on the phone until she found something else to complain about!)

Anyways, thanks for the input guys!

  6. Here is a link for the checklist of information that you need to submit:

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1guide

thanks, for the link.it doesnt say that i need to send in her birth certificate,so i take it, it is not necessary for her to mail it to me?i dont need her birth certificate, just my mine?

Only the USC birth certificate is required (yours). Your fiancee will take her birth certificate (not copy) to the interveiw.

thanks for your info.so what else does my fiance need to send me to complete the first requirements?

Interestingly, my attorney asked me to include my fiancee's birth certificate with my I129f. When I questioned her and asked why and who and how it needed to be translated it resulted in her saying "We generally include it to precent a RFE". When I pushed further saying that it is not even required at this point in the process I was told "We have filed hundreds of these, it's best if you include it".

Well, I didnt provide it. And, as of yet, I haven't been RFE'd. Then again, I dont have my NOA2 yet either, so the jury is still out.

  7. I just called and spoke to someone at CSC. He was a very cool person and we even chit chatted about some non-business stuff. Anyways, he said "my case was assigned and was physically on an officers desk" and that I should hear something this week or so.

That gave me a tidbit of hope!

One thing I forgot to mention... When he was checking my status, he mentioned that they are currently processing cases BEFORE April 13th. I don't know how that applies to some people but maybe it provides some insight....

er1c I SURE HOPE YOU ARE 100000% CORRECT ABOUT THEIR ARE PROCESSING BEFORE APRIL 13TH.. PLS PLS.. I REALLY WANT OUR NOA2 BADLY..

I wouldn't lie to ya! But don't shoot the messenger! hehehe Seriously though, that is what he said. He may have just made that date up because he was looking at my info and picked a date a few days after mine.

One thing I am learning from reading all the posts here and doing things on my own trying to get info and speed the process up... They have the case, they are working on it, they'll get it done when they get it done. :( But cheer up, things will happen soon!!
