  1. Thank you everyone for your comments. After I asked my question in the forum we were just about to call the embassy at pay the 14euro, but we checked the mail and the documents came in the mail that day. Since we were prepared and have everything on the check list all ready we were able to send in the checklist to the embassy the same day, which was a nice thing to be able to do.

We are now waiting for packet 4....lol

    Thanks again!

  2. My fiancé and I are confused at the moment. We received our NOA2 notice of acceptance on January 29th. I , the petitioner, received a letter on February 18th stating that my fiancé can now fill our the DS160 online. From all of the forums and information that we read here on visa journey that he will receive a list of documents, including a checklist, and information that he can fill-out the DS160. For us it seems to not have worked that way as written on the site. Have things changed at the US embassy in Paris? He filled out the DS160 form online, but he has still not yet received the checklist to send back. Does anyone have any info on this?

    Thank you in advance!

  3. Please excuse me in advance if this is already on a forum.

I was reading the instuctions for I-485 adjust of status (we will eventualyl have the K-1 visa "fingers crossed") and it mentioned that is is best to file the I-131 and I-745 with the I -485 to avoid paying extra fees. So, this is what we plan to do.

However, we do not have the particular travel dates yet. We know that this year we wish to go to Canada (visit my grandparents) and we want to go to France in 2015 to visa his family and introduce my mother to his family.

From your experience, is it possible to receive approval of a I-131 with multiple enteries without yet knowing the dates of travel yet?

If yes, what do we put on the appication when it requires travel dates?

Please correct me if I am wrong, but the I-131 is used for him to travel once his AoS is approved and he is on the 2 year probation?

Thanks for your help i n advance as I am confused...

  4. The lawyer iI had said the process is longer applying for a I-130 Visa. Don`t know why...

I also have friends that were advised wrong (did nto do fiancé visa) and wanted to be in teh USA. They got married in the USA and she (from Canada) had to leave wbecause they would have to apply for a I- 130 VISA. It has now been 4 years going through their I-130 Visa and it still has not been granted, and the country is right next door.

However, ever case is different. There is not one that is the same.

Good luck on whatever decision you choose!

  5. Yeah, the thing is that each case is different. Not everyone one case is the same. You see, I might not have provided information of my passport, but I provided a copy of my birth certificate.

We used to have an immigration lawyer, who is very good, and one thing he did recommend to has is to never give them more information than they require. If they think you are missing documents they will ask you.

  6. The only issue is every tiem I try to call there is a busy signal.....I found the information below in a post, but I still get a busy signal. Does anyone haev a different phone number for the NVC?

    "For the NVC:

K1's are not tracked through the AVR, EVER. They are processed like an immigrant visa, but they are NOT immigrant visas, so they fall into a completely different class of their own. Therefore you need an operator. To get there:

    1-603-334-0700

Press 2 for Non-Haiti-Related issue (Please note that this will probably change after some time)
    Press 1 for English
    Press 5 for an operator"

NOTE: The red info above was from another post!

  7. Hello,

I have been reading posts recently that stated (depending on your embassy) you will not receive an interview without a medical exam. We are still waiting for the documents to be sent to my fiancé after approval notification of the NOA2. Once these documents are received will it also include a list of doctors to see? Where does the information come from?

We just want to be prepared and one step a head of the game.

    Thank you!!!! Merci!!!!

  8. Hello jm123,

So, this morning I just started filing my taxes. This past year I was working in another country just like you. I am still filing my US tax return and the taxes for Canada, but my accountant recommened to me making copies of everything once it is filed and giving it to my fiancé with the affidavit of support as it will show that I have been working and although currently "unemployed" in the US (looking for work), it will help show my intention, I do work, and I do file taxes. I am also going to have a co-sponsor (my mother) who was living and working the whole year in the USA, so I am hoping all this will work. Unfortunately, I don't have stocks... :(

Keep me updated on your process. Did your fiancée receive her documents yet?
