  1. No activity in the thread for days now?? I have no hope. I was finally able to put in an e-request today, said I should have a reply by August 29th. More waiting. I feel like they have moved on so far ahead of January dates and the few of us that are still waiting are just seem to be forgotten......the feb. thread seems to be having a lot of approvals which doesn't help me feel any better about not receiving an approval yet. Although I'm happy for everyone, I just wish it would come through for me already!!

I'm in the same boat PD jan 28 and nothing.. Yes it is very frustrating, I was able to submit a request today but that doesnt gaurantee anything.. Do you know exactly what date nebraska is working on at the moment? Because it seems that they just forgot about the rest of the January filers.. ?
  2. Hi All,

My husband and I filed the I-130 in January 2014 and still haven't gotten approved yet.

I sent a message along to the USCIS about processing times and they said our case was under additional review.

Does anyone know about this additional review as we haven't received RFE notices either.

FYI I am a USC and filed for my husband. We have only been married 7 months and haven't seen each other in about 6 months.

I know all of you are going through the same problems we are having. I just didn't know why our case had to be under additional review and that processing could take longer. I guess that's how the system works.

    Any input would be appreciated~

    Thanks!

Hi what service center are you at as I am also a january filer still waiting for noa1 at nebraska service center..

  3. jamaica beauty my husband is from Jamaica and i also filed single my tax preparer also told me the same thing but it's to late to amend it his interview July 8th so everything already at the consulate in Kingston

Most people say it doesn't guarantee a denial and that it's not that big of a deal as long as you don't continuously file as single while married but I haven't even gotten my NOA2 yet so I went ahead and amended mines.. Let me know how the interview goes and what kinds of questions he was asked.. And GOODLUCK to your hubby, I pray he gets approved..

  5. Hi I also filed my taxes as single and I don't have SSN for my husband and I don't know how to get itin number I'm a January 2014 filer and were waiting on approval for our i-130 so I want to amend it for NVC also I haven't gotten my return check yet and I can't wait until I get the check to amend because I'm applying for financial aid for school and I need it amended before the end of this month so I'm planning on amending my taxes now, can I just put "NRA" in the social security section for my husband?

  6. I got married in 2011 and came to US in 2012,still my husband filed 2011 taxes as married.

If you are married ,better not to write single anywhere. :)

I was just wondering if I was gona be penalized for doing so because the guy who did my taxes told me that's how I should file.. I'm young and this is all still very new to me.. Lol, but from now on I won't be filing as single wether my husband lives in the US or not..
  7. Consular Officers see this all the time. No worries. Technically, you filed with the wrong status but unless you actually work for the IRS, there's no penalty for doing so. Paying extra taxes is not against the law. You can amend the return once your spouse arrives and has a Social Security number.

Thanks so much, now that I know, next year I will definitely file as married..
  8. If your are married, you are not single, you file married. Does not matter if they are not physically present in the USA, married is married. You can file married filing seperate and put the letters NRA in the box for his SSN... You can ammend later for joint once he gets social...

Oh ok, because the guy who filed my taxes said it was right that I file as single because he's not living in the US so that was what I did I filed as single.. Will that effect our petition in anyway?
