  1. My congratulations! I have one question though. When did you schedule your medical appointment? Did you do it before or after you set up your interview date?

we do not set our interview dates, after we got case complete from NVC we have to wait until the US embassy in Kingston give NVC an available interview date, then our case is sent to Kingston where we should go for the interview, as soon as this is been done we receive email of the time and date of interview. Once i get this email i went right a head and schedule my appointment and i was told at the medical facility that the medical is done 10 days before appointment.

  2. my husband sent in : Federal tax transcripts (the most previous years). w2s, biography page of his passport, marriage certification, recent pay stubs, Job letter, birth certificate. and in the IV package bcuz we sent both the same time: my birth certificate, marriage certificate, 2 passport photo, police record, biography page of my passport

  3. Been there, done that 1000 times +

more than several service request, Senator inquiries, letters to TSC, Letters to the director of the service centers and more...

If I get approved this week there is a party on the APRIL thread....... Come join us !! LOL

yesterday was my 1st anniversary... and yea..... it sucked !

Gosh! there must be a party indeed. I was in this situation and was so frustrated that when i got approved it never moved me, I never enjoyed it the way i thought i would. I sooo feel your pain but hang on tighter, the darkest hour means morning soon light.

  4. When I contacted the embassy regarding my fiance bringing his kids with him they told me to get a letter from the other parent and have ot notarized by the JP, however, at the interview the CO didn't ask for it

Thanks that's exactly what we will do. Thank you this is a huge help, so i am going to contact his father and we will write a letter and we will have it notarized by the JP and take it with me.

  5. **** Moving from Progress reports to main CR-1 forum *****

Is the father named on the birth certificate?

    Do you have sole custody?

yes his name is on his birth certificate and neither of us had any battles about who gets him we just mutually agree upon stuff that needs to be done. And the fact that he has 3 other children and is unable to finance our son he does not want me to leave him here he wants me to take him with me, and i am happy about that, its just that i need to know what i need to have , if any thing is needed.

  6. I need your feed back on this matter. I have a son that does not belong to my husband, he does not live with me, he is 12 years old.

He spends weekends and holidays with me, he lives with his father's mother.

His father got married when he was 5 years old. His father got 3 other children with his wife.

When i was preparing to get married in 2012 he met my husband. Now that i need to be with my husband we had a mutual agreement that it is ok for my son to migrate with me.

My son is financed by his father's mother and myself only, and because i work tedious shifts and live on my own i prefer to have him properly supervised so he lives with his father's mother. My question is: Do you think i might need any documents from his father stating that a mutual understanding is agreed upon? Do you think the interviewer might need his father to be there? my husband consulted a immigration lawyer and he suggest i email us embassy in Kingston about the matter seeing that my son does not live with me. The lawyer said its best to know what to do and do it, than to turn up for interview and got delayed because of missing info.

  7. USCIS is faster with the K1 visas because they make them more money. Plain and simple.

You also will not find CR1 visa interviews on the same website as the K1 interviews because it's possible that K1 can book their own interview whereas CR1 need to wait for the NVC to book the interview based off of when the embassy or consulate opens up dates.

There is nothing in immigration that is fair. But it's a privilege not a right.

As soon as you take your entitlement out of the question, stop saying you deserve this, that, or the other thing, and start saying instead that you're grateful for the privilege, you'll find yourself in a happier place. This is a year or two in a lifetime with a spouse. Is this other person not worth this time and effort? Yes we all want to be togther, otherwise we wouldn't be going through this process. But this 2 years for immigration isn't your lifetime, it's just a process you have to go through. Doesn't mean it doesn't suck but it does mean you should always remember it and be grateful when you're finally together all the time.

    Just my 2 cents anyhow.

good.gifyou hv a point right there, don't think we are all here disputing, I take it that at least there should be some form of balance tho. And believe me i am grateful for the privilege

  8. Congrats! Although I am a K1 filer and don't know your process all that well, I am certain that if your email the Kingston embassy they will reply with your next steps. you may want to wait a few days till it arrives there otherwise they will just reply that they don't have it yet.

    kingstonIV@state.gov

    kingstonivappointment@state.gov

    Good luck!

Thanks MoniqueDavid. with the CR1 case the NVC sends it to the Kingston embassy once the interview date is issued, when the embassy in Kingston gets it i would need not call about the interview date because they would email me to say they sent it and here is the date.

  9. It seems that Kingston schedules appointments about six weeks from the case complete at NVC. That puts them right up against the April 15 tax deadline. If your interview is going to be after April 15, they will likely ask to see 2013 at interview time. NVC may be trying to avoid any delays at interview by requiring them to submit 2013 now. This whole process is so overwhelming. I am just starting at NVC - 23 business days and no case number yet:(

yep You are so right with that, so my husband said he will be preparing the 2013 tax returns for me to take to the interview, normally it does not take 23 days for a case number at NVC, i got my case number 2 wks after i received Noa2. I suggest you call them and give them your USCIS number to query it or like i did (email them).

  10. 2013 taxes?- not due until April 15, 2014 - did you mean 2012?-- did you have 2012 transcript?- and a W2 or employment letter or paycheck stubs for 2013? Did they comment as to asking for something that the US Government views as NOT DUE YET?

Sorry my bad 2012 tax returns, my husband gave them the transcript but they said it should be the Federal type. and yes he gave them employment letter, pay stubs, and now that i am awaiting the interview date because i finally got case complete, he said he will send me the 2013 tax returns to take on interview date.

  11. It's been 3 weeks now since we hv responded to a check-list stating that 2013 tax returns transcript is missing..Can someone please explain to me..Why after they review and found something to be missing it has to take another two (2) months, as if we are starting alllllllllll over again?wow.gif

Since NVC hv checked the file and saw something missing/incomplete and hv sent request for such document(s), as soon as they receive it they should hv a way prepared to just get stuff together and "case complete" it. That way they can prevent back log.

  12. CR1 or K1 we're all at the mercy of immigration waiting to be reunited with our loved ones. I've learned that the process can be long and frustrating, it requires A LOT of patience. I filed for a K1 visa a year ago (February 27th last year) and I am just now reaching the finish line of the first step.

Like Blakcajun said, just keep contacting them to create a sense of urgency. All the best and keep us posted.

Thanks for replying to my post as well, what i got to understand is, when ever we keep contacting NVC or show them some form of urgency/write letters, they spite by sending check list stating that something is missing even when they receive everything.

  13. That's not the case at all...They work in batches. When I was waiting for my interview, it was very few K1's being interviewed. It depends on when you apply, get approved and the details of your petition. Some cases are more difficult than others and take more time. I've been in this process for almost a year. It just takes patience you...you will soon have your interview and be with your loved ones. Also, keep emailing the embassy. I emailed them and gave them a timeframe of when I wanted my interview and they scheduled me for 2 weeks after my interview.

thanks for your reply. you are a K1 so u can email the embassy but i am a cr1 so do u think i can still email the embassy and let them know when i want my interview? I thought in a case like mine, NVC is the one who issue us the interview date.
