  1. Hey guys-

I posted on the other forum too-i'll re-post here

    1. In the interview letter they said to bring orignial affidavit of support-but we already sent the embassy all the originals

    2. do they send you the original documents back? coz we didnt get any back.

    Thanks:)

I am not sure if this is your K-3 interview or CR1. but, it dont matter.

here is what you do. if you submitted the I-134 its normally for K-3 interview.

< which they normally take this at the interview > if its the I-864 you are talking about

and it was submitted at the NVC. then you need to write a letter to the embassy and enclose it

with the 3.5 packet. I am gonna assume this is what you are talking about.

often times we have our K-3 interviews and then suddenly the CR1 interview is next. alot of the

documentation is already in the hands of the embassy. if this is the case. * apprently you are not

clear in stating what interview this is * . you need to make a list of things submitted in your letter.

just type up and sign a simple letter.

example like in our case. we had submitted

Passport, orignal marriage papers, medicals, and I-864 aff of sup.

in the letter. I will PM you a sample letter.. searching for the one I sent..

    Hi Shon

First let me make it clear, that we are filing for CR-1. Again, I am USC and filed for my husband. I never applied for K-3.

I directly filed my I-130 at the embassy in Islamabad since I lived in Pakistan with my husband for about a year and a half. So I have not been dealing with NVC yet-all my dealing has been directly with Islamabad.

All my documents were filed at the Islamabad embassy. The packet 3.5 requested for affidavit of support, birth certificates, police certficates etc. We sent everything that was listed to the embassy.

Now we have received the interview letter-which is saying come in November with pictures etc. But also said original affidavit of support-which we already handed in with the packet 3.5. So I am wondering do they just send out a generic interview letter, or is something wrong here? We did not get out original documents back either.

I really appreciate your help:) Thanks a million

  2. we got interview date for November

    lol

    arghhhhhhhhhhhh

    :help:

oh man.. 4 months from now :crying:

I am sorry. see if your congressman or senator can bump the date up..

    good luck...

you are going for CR1 or K-3?

is the immigrant female or male?

    Hey Shon

    :)

Yeah will see what the congressman can do-we are going for the CR1-never applied for K-3

Its for my hubby-so they'll take a million yrs in background check after the interview i guess!

Yeah Omid-at least we know the interview date-i wish that was the end of it-but i guess that is just a new beginning!

  3. HI Psoft and everyone!

    URGENT Question Please

I received the Packet 3.5. now what should i send with form DS-230 Part-1 & Two, Police Certificate, Photographs, what else.

and how & where to get Police certificate.

and Psoft did you received 3.5 yet?

Waiting for a quick and brief response

    Fooki

Fooki-make sure that you read VERY carefully all the documents required in the packet 3.5

Everything they need is written in the packet.

    Good luck!

  4. BTW, does anyone know if Islamabad Embassy allows Direct Consular Filing if the petitioner is living in the US? It's way too late for me to do that now, but I'm just curious if I should kick myself for not doing it. :-)

    Hi Sqtb

I filed a DCF in Islamabd for my husband.

The condition is that u must have been livin in Paki-for at least 6 months

They I-130 is approved within 6 months also.

I don't know how long it takes for the I-130 to be approved in the US.

We sent in the packet 3.5 about a few weeks back, and will be geting an interview date soon.

Let me know if there is any other info you need!

    Take care

  5. Do you or anyone know that if I went back and stayed there-would that become an issue in the process?

    Do as follow

    1) Let the interview date be announced first.

    2) Come to Pakistan

    3) If interview date is after than 7 months then you can stay here upto the maximum of 7 months

    4) Else If interview date is within 7 months then you can stay here till the time of interview

I feel, It is a good situation to reply "in USA" if during interview CO ask where is Saeedeh at the moment?

and to justify the reply you have to be in USA!

    has interview date arrived?

    -Dude

i still remeber that a guy was in trouble when they found that his wife was with him for 7 months and 3 weeks. Thus raised the domicile concern!

she can do it! as long as she maintains her apartment, bills and job.

since she wont be able to keep her job. she needs to have a co sponser.

the bottomline is it does create problems.

Thanks Shon and Dude for your replies!

I guess we will have an interview date in 2 weeks.

I emailed the consulate and they said they will tell me a date in abt 2 weeks-so ask again then.

Let's see how things go-it's just some days I want to just run back!

I already had a co-sponsor since as soon as I got here I didnt have a job, but when I sent the papers-I got a job so I sent along proof of employment along just as an FYI. So cosponsor already exists.

How are things going with your family Shon?

    K Take care guys!

Once again-thanks for the replies:)Really keeps me going....

  6. Thank you all.

I have talked to my congressman to try to see if something can be expedited some how.

I know security check blah blah blah- so they tell me. but, she said she will inform the Embassy

the new information on whats happening with our case. She expects a response by thursday.

in the mean time sending her information as much as possible about my fathers situation.

my father will also write a letter.

The attorney can not really do more than what you are able to do. they pretty much can write

letters on fancy letter head. but, your congressman and sentator are the ones that can intervine. they dont have the powers to speed the security check .but, they can say check the security checks make sure its moving along and not stalled in the system as I suspect ours is.

    Thanks a million Shon

Hope things work out for you!

Do you or anyone know that if I went back and stayed there-would that become an issue in the process?

  7. Here is an update. so far its good news with my dad! :D

I talked to my oldest sister. I told her- we talked about how to handle this stuff.

we decided to talk to dad and make him call mom. I made him promise he will tell her.

he said he will call her today. I had to address his concerns. which I did. one of the concerns I told

you was my brother. ultimately, he wants to make sure my brother is not out on the streets.

my twin brother does drugs and he basicly is a BUM. my dad is worried that in the event of his death

my brother will be out on the streets. sad but, possible. I wont have him here ohhh no. thats another story.

I talked to dad about his wishes. there really is no way this can be fixed. other than letting my brother do what he thinks he gotta do.

the other concern my dad had was- he is scared. The whole treatment thing ect. I told him talk to mom and I will bring her to him. this is an easy task because, I will go to mom and bring her to him. then off to the hospital we will go.

on a lighter note : I told dad talk to mom or " I will beat you " my dad started laughing so hard. he agreed he will talk to her. at least i got him to laugh! (F)

    Hey Shon

Wishing the best for you and praying that things turn out for the better for you and your family, Insha Allah

  8. I email the embassy today they said this:

    Dear Madam,

As I am sure you are aware, visa security procedures have been extremely strict

since September 11, 2001. Security clearance procedures can sometimes take a

very long time, as is the case with your husband's application. Government

agencies in the United States are making efforts to shorten the visa security

processing time, but for some people, the process is longer than it is for

others. Unfortunately I am unable to give you any specific information

regarding the security clearance procedures that your husband's case is

currently undergoing, nor am I able to give you a definite timeline for their

    completion.

    We appreciate your continued patience.

I hope this information will be helpful to you.

    Thanks

    This whole thing just SUCKSSSsssssssssssssss!!!!!!

"Appreciate your patience"-is all they have to say!

    lol-some people have the nerve!

  9. salam!

my priority date was may 3, 2005.

    i submitted my I-130 on may 31,2005.

    what does that mean?

    thanks!

    saeedeh

what can i say except it TYPING mistake. It will be May 31.

By the way your case is same as my case.

    Experience says:

    - Your husband will get interview date after 30 days of submission of packet 3.5

    - The interview date will depend upon current booking time. I think the current booking time is August (i think someone else can give accurate data on the current date)

    - In my case, i submitted packet 3.5 in beginning of Aug. Got interview date of Dec. which rescheduled for March and again re scheduled for May. i am on AP.

    - remember, all pakistani, muslims, young, males has to go through AP/AR . The shortest period of AP is 19 days while longest is 10 months at ISB.

Just keep your chin up and pray!

    -Dude

Thanks dude for the reply! :)

I heard that usually AR is longer in multi-cultural weddings. I wonder if my husbands will be shorter-since my whole family is from Pakistan and so is my husband.

Well-I guess prayers are the only solution!:)

Keep an eye on my case.

we have ALL PARAMETERS in common!!!

    well, for domicile proof.

    1) Open a bank account against your name. Send original bank statment to your husband

    2) Send your state ID card photocopy

    3) Send utility bill on your name if any

    4) send ur job proof if u have any

    5) communcation record

    6) Letters/emails

    7) Pick US local newspaper and take your pictures in front of your state's famous official buiildings in such a way that you hold newspaper in front of you in your hands (i.e. the photogrpaher can read the newspaper)

Remember, i have to go through for all above procedures to prove domicilie for my wife.

Feel free to ask further questions.

PSOFT-- you forgot, i am exected on CR-1 visa.

    -Dude

Yeah-I sent a lot of things to prove domicile like:

    1. State ID

    2. Car title

    3. Bank statement

    4. Pay Stub

    5. Letter of Employment

    6. Cell phone bill

    7. Cards

    8. Voters Registration Card

Just sent anything I could think of to prove I do live here. I guess if they do an employment check they can verify that I am working here!

Hopefully will here from them in about 2-3 weeks with an interview date. Will keep you all posted!

Thanks for sharing all the info-really appreciate it:)

    Saeedeh,

Yes your AR will be shorter because you are Pakistan American. By the way priority date mean 'the date I-130' received by service center and entered into the system

    -Dude

I thought you are coming on business Visa. Because in your last posts you asked ‘some business related quarries in Texas’

Actually I submitted my I-130 on May 31,2005 and they gave me a priority date May 3, 2005. Guess it was just a typo!

  10. salam!

  11. Hey everyone!

Hope everything is fine with you all.

I applied to sponsor my husband last year from the embassy at Islamabad.

Our I-130 was approved within the six month period they had specified.

And to complete the rest of the paperwork which required domicile-I moved back to the US in March this year.

He sent packet 3.5 to the embassy about 10 days ago. It says that they usually review the papers for two-three weeks and set up in interview within the next few days. Is that true? Does anyone have any idea how much longer I will need to wait before he gets here?

What about administrative review? Does everyone have to go through that.

I would love to hear about anyones experience with this.

The wait is a real killer! sad.gif

    Thanks in advance,

    Regards

    Saeedeh
