  1. Thanks Marry. So, perhaps, anyone who is been waiting for a year or so will have to do these forms again. I hope this is it because, as you can imagine, my wife and I are just so tired of it.
    Hi Folks,

As many of you know that I have been on AP since April of last year. Now they are asking me to resubmit forms DS-230, both Part I and Part II. Has this happened to anybody before? Have you heard of it? Please give me your input.

    Thanks.

Yes this is new and you have to resubmit the forms. They have been revised since you filled them out the year before. PAIN07 CR-1/IR-1 contacted me a few months back since they were asking for this and told me the forms had been revised. I informed him to resubmit them and it asked for more specific facts and to make sure that he addressed all the questions. Sure enough after some time his visa was ajudicated and I updated the list for the forums. Please do what they ask and inshallah you will have your visa shortly.

    Mary

    Hey Nair1

I can imagine how tired u guys are of it! Me and my husband are in the same boat. We have also been on AP for over a year-its so frustrating

I hope u hear some good news soon!

Send the requested papers asap before somethin else comes up!

    Best wishes

    Saeedeh

  2. I emailed the embassy asking if they can move the interview date up to an earlier date, and that I have all the docs ready and complete.

In response, they asked for a case # to refer to. I just sent a general email, and didn't specify my detailed info. I was afraid to respond, because the last thing I want to do is to irritate the embassy people.

Is it possible to lose your spot if they try to reassign a different date?

    Any thoughts???

A wise man told me once not to push my luck, but I am trying to get some new advice, and seek out anyone who may have tried this type of attempt.

    hey zeyad

no harm in emailing the embassy over and over again

i emailed them almost every 10 days to get our interview date changed..even though they said its not possible-i would just email again to ask if they would change their minds-and they did. it really depends on if they can accommodate you in another time-slot. you should give them your detailed info because they cannot do anything without it and why you want to get it changed.

its always worth a shot-u wont lose anything..so definitely try!

    take care

    n good luck!

Saedah, How far did they move it. and during the interview was there any signs of frustration cause you moved it. I talked with my wife about this, and she fears that they may react and move it out even further thinking that we are impatient.

I still think that there is nothing to lose, since they already have designated a spot for her.

    zeyad

the interview was going to be in mid nov and they changed it to mid sept

no they were not annoyed at all...i asked them so many times.trust me i emailed them almost every 10 days to ask if there was any way possible-and i would appreciate their help...and one day i got lucky and they cnahged the date

the prob dont even remember during the interview abt changing dates since they never even mentioned it

also...they only change it if they can accomodate u-so they wont be doing u any favors by changing the date..

they cant just get mad at someone for asking.they work there and it is their job to serve ppl...

    goood luckkkk! :)

  4. Does Islamabad embassy provide list of "Panel doctors" where my wife can go for medical exam?

Does she has to wait for packet from islamabad or she can go now and have medical exam?

Anybody knows list of panel Dr. in Lahore?

    Thanks,

    Data Sheet

    Hello Data Sheet

    I have a packet 3.5-but I got it a year and a half ago.

It shows that in Lahore-there is Doctors Hospital & Medical Center

The doctors are Dr. Amer Ikram and Dr. Talat Shah

    Phone Number: 5302701-14 (14 lines)

and also there is Masood Hospital

Doctors there are Dr. Hassan Masood Khan and Dr. Romaana Masood

    Phone number is 111-627-663, 5882481-2 or 5881961-3

u might want to have your wife call and make sure these doctors are still doing the tests. In packet 3.5 it says that you need to show a letter from the US embassy at the doctors office showing the visa category etc. They usually give the test results back within a few days. I would think its better for her to wait till she gets the packet-you dont want medicals to expire (I think they expire after a year!)

Good luck and congrats on the upcoming birth of your first child! :)

  5. hey dhobee:)

first of all-since he applied for a female, it weird they are taking so long to get back to you...

I am a US citizen and applied for my husband. To prove i had domicile i went to the US-worked for a bit and stayed without him for about 9 months...it was really hard living alone there as i had no one else there with me...and i just said forget it and came back...i thought that if they bring up any problem, then i can go back to the US-i came back to paki in mid oct...have been there ever since...we are still waiting for security clearance..he already had his interview in sept..and i went back to pakistan a few weeks later.he asked someone at the ISB embassy and one person said its ok for her to come back-and one person said she shldnt stay past 6 months..i even called USCIS and they said its okay to go..its really confusing since no one really has one answer..

why dont u call the ISB embassy and find out...call and find out why ur I-130 is still not approved..even in pakistan it takes a MAXIMUM of 6 months to get approved...

can he get his name on a lease with someone else? maybe that can show he has a place..and bills etc can show...keep a bank statement and all..

    take care!

    regards

    saeedeh

My husbands rents an apartment so there aren't any mortgage payments, property, etc. There are no items that are on lease, or we are really confused on how he can go about demonstrating domicile in the US. Are there specific things that he can do to demonstrate that?

Thanks for all your help everyone.

He cannot take FMLA or other long-term leaves, as the employer wouldn't allow that.

    homesick_american,

That's great for people who are applying for visas in London. Unfortunately, dhobee is not applying in London, they are applying in Pakistan. I suspect that the consulate there is a bit stricter in its' consideration of the domicile requirement.

    Yodrak

London's domicile standards are pretty loose. You don't actually have to have domicile in the USA anymore; all that is necessary is intent to re-establish it, according to the US Embassy in London's website and the forms I filled out in 2006. Nobody asked either of us about our employment prospects.

    dhobee,

He will have to demonstrate that in leaving the USA to live in Pakistan he has not abandoned his US domicile.

Visa approval does not come from the USCIS, it comes from the consulate.

    Yodrak

    Thanks Yodrak,

It should not be a problem for us to find a co-sponsor at the time of the interview. What we are worried about is that whether the embassy would create a fuss about him having left the US to live in Pakistan for the time being; and, if his moving to Pakistan will cause an outrageous delay in visa approval from the USCIS.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

    dhobee,

The visa application process is going to suffer when it comes time to demonstrate that the visa applicant (you) meets the public charge provisions of the law unless either the visa applicant or their petitioner has a fair amount of money that they can live off of for quite some time, or the visa applicant has someone other than the petitioner to sponsor them.

    Yodrak

We applied for I-130 in April, 2006 and the case is still pending with the USCIS. Because it has been so long, we have been considering alternate plans. If nothing comes up for us till May, 2007, we have decided (hoping against hope, still) that my husband, the petitioner in this case, will leave his job in the US and return to Pakistan... wait till I-130 gets approved, I get the visa and then, we'll move to the US together.

    .

    .

    .

    Our questions are:

    • 1. Has anyone tried this before?
    • 2. Can a petitioner leave US like this and still have the I-130 processing continue ?
    • 3. If yes, would the application process suffer because of this temporary relocation of the petitioner?

  6. It is hard to get somebody on a phone over there. I try almost every night before I go to sleep, and my wife is in Pakistan tries all day and you just hear the recording. I have emailed them and they have reply me that our case in under "screening" which I think thier interanl term for name checking. Now, they are not even replying on emails.

All we can do just pray with the belief that patience bears the good fruit.

do u call the embassy or DOS?

embassy usually replies in a few days-its no use calling because they dont tell anything..

DOS is the best place to call...

  7. Hi yall...

has their been any MEN approved for visas SINCE 2007?????????????????????? if so tell us about it..

    Hi Shon

My fiance was told congrats the day of his interview....that he was approved for the visa but would be placed on AP for 45 days. The CO said if 45 days passes and he hears nothing from them to call or write. So in terms of AP, nothing out of the ordinary.

    Hope this is helpful.

    KJO

thats not what I asked! i asked was there any approvals as in VISAS ISSUED! you were NOT approved if you are setting on AP.

GOD! she was just tryin to help!!!!!

  10. Hi everyone

so i availed Monday of February 12, 2007 to submit my ocuments.

It was all "suffer" (travel) & suffer (wait) fo mealong with continous raain shower all the way.

    here is summay

--I managed to reach at convention centre at 7:20 am

--Reached in font of embassy at 8:30

--They allowed me and others (IV cases) after 90 minutes of wait in queue so i stepped in embassy at 10:00

--They announce my nae around 2:35 PM and just took 30 seconds to collect my docs without asking a question. thats All!

--Again i have to wait for 30 minutes to return to convention centre.

Well, about visa, they will send me through Speedex in 7 to 10 days.

i have just read few last posts and i am just making a guide for all of us about guessing VISA issuance process/tie

    Sadeeh--------------------submitted on Jan 16 -- via Amex----------------still waiting

My freind (a non VJ) -----submitted on Jan 31 -- via Amex----------------still waiting

Thanks to VJ, which gave me lesson to be pateint atleast till 2 PM. Hence i was mentally strong and ready to see 2PM on the watch!

Remember: Monday, Feb 19, 2007 embassy is closed.

 sadeeh still waiting for the visa? DOS said we are on AP with the embassy so why the embassy tell us 10 days < something like this > so far its been 8 days :crying:

Ahem...DOS said you are on AP again AFTER u gave in the passport??

ANyway I am going to mail the embassy again today- They have had my hubbys passport for abt a month now!

oh Happy Valentines Day Everybody ;)

and congrats Dude abt the visa-thanks for makin the lil time chart showing how slow the embassy is goin-hehehe

  11. Shon it took the embassy like 1 day to give me the visa, one day they told me I was approved and the second day I picked the passport up from American express in Islamabad, the day they say you are approved is the day they actually stamp the passport? What did they tell Javed? So when is he coming to the US?

    hey shon:)

we sent in my hubbys passport on jan 16th

still the a-holes havent sent it back to us yet!

everytime i ask them they say either they are understaffed-and they need time or to wait one week-and after one week-wait another!

    sigh sigh!!!

  12. Hey everyone!

    Hope everyones doin great!:)

I was wondering that after my husband gets his green card (I am assuming he will get that when we arrive in the US since we've been married for over 2 years), when can he travel back to Pakistan? I have heard rumours that he won't be able to travel for 5 yrs-but I dont think that is true.

Could anyone who has received the green card or knows anything let me know!

    Thanks a bunch:)

  13. Hello everybody, I am planning on visiting Lahore, Pakistan in February. Was wondering about getting a visa for Pakistan. Does anybody know a good agency I can trust to get my visa? Or did you send your passport directly to the embassy of Pakistan in washington? I am kind of nervous about sending my passport in the mail.

When I got my visa in Feb 06, I visited the Houston Counsulate asked questions, but thought since I would be in Chicago prior to leaving, I would apply there. Well, the Chicago Counsulate wouldn't accept my papers because I wasn't a resident of the states they service so I ended up overnighting with postage paid return evelopes per their instructions through the USPS ONLY everything to Houston where they processed it and returned it in a timely manner with a visa. So it depends on where you live on where you should send it. Yes, it is nerveracking having the postal system take your passport, but the tracking numbers helped me watch it's progress as well as calm my fears of it being lost.

Can anybody also tell me about Lahore airport? Is it a good airport? Did you have any problems with customs? Do they speak english at the airport? I am nervous about going becouse this is only my second time out of the u.s.a and my first time going to Pakistan. I would appreciate any info that anybody might have. Thanks

Yes, they do speak English at the airports. I've only come and gone through ISB. I wasn't bringing through a large amount of stuff- just normal luggage for a 3 month stay. Compared with others who were arriving with large bags and plenty of luggage, I wasn't looked at or stopped. I just walked out to be greeted by my sweetie at 11 pm which wasn't as bad as arriving at 4 am the previous trip.

    Good Luck.

Thank you for responding. I am in Alaska so not sure where i would apply for Pakistan visa. I assumed all visas were processed in Washington. Maybe i will just have to go through one of those agencies online.

    hello :)

check out the embassy of pakistan in washington website

dont worry about losing ur passport

send it through fedex with a return envelope as well

i sent my passport to the washington embassy directly and had no problems

plus lahore airport has become really nice-insha allah u will have no problem at all!

    good luck:)

  14. By the grace of Allah! I got my K-3 Visa yesterday! Alhamdulillah! I love you guys! You have helped me so much!

I want to thank some people for all your help! Laney, Jen and Mary you are awesome! You helped me so much and were there when I was under the blues!

Shon! lol! I love you too! Even though we had lots of fights! But it was nice to see you on the forum all this time! My prayers are with you and hope this ordeal ends for you!

    congratulations:)

  15. interview went very well

didnt ask too many questions and hardly asked for many supporting documents

the C.O. even said if he could have given the visa-he wuld have given my hubby the visa immediately..but unfortunately we have to go through admin review which he said will not take more than 4 months

.insha allah i will be goin back home in a less than 3weeks!!

    can't wait :)

    wake up ISB threaddddddddd!!!!!!
