  1. so as of tonight uscis.gov says that my welcome noticed has been mailed to my address and my green card has been registered and it will be receive on April 5, but i guess it will be arriving sooner that this date.

and here's some of the questions i remember, although the interviewer is pretty nice and we just have a normal conversation.

we both asked the names of our parents and sibling

name and birthdate of my husband children

how, when and where did we meet

    when we got married

how man times he visited me in the PHILIPPINES

how many people living in our house right now

he ask for joint account, insurances, pictures and anything thats both on our names.

    our home address and telephone

how long is my husbands business

what is the nature of his business

my husband's b-day and place of birth

asked about our vacation and travel

its more on a usual conversation and the trick is not show you are nervous and just make sure you guys really know each other.

Guys good luck and you can do it with God's prayer and faith!

  2. I am very upset with the whole immigration and laws in the US. DMV SC in particular... I have my Philippine Driver license, SC ID card, USCIS work permit... BS I can't get. Drivers license because I would to get. Learners permit and hold it for 180 days before a DL is issued.

OMG how would I work and drive my car without someone with me every time I'm driving in the highway. It's just so frustrating that I have co worker whose been here illegally and yet she can drive...

it is indeed really frustrating! here in California theres a new law and guess what? Undocumented immigrant can now apply a drivers license, then there in your state they are giving so much difficulty for the people who came here legally... i will try to come here to get a DL.

  3. Finally some more movement on our AOS! :dancing: We have our interview scheduled for Feb 4, 2015! Received the following email today, What a way to begin the new year :)

There has been a recent processing action taken on your case.

    Receipt Number: MSCxxxxxxxxxx

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Testing and Interview

On January 1, 2015, we scheduled you for your interview and mailed you an interview notice for Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxxxx. Your interview is on February 4, 2015. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your interview notice by January 31, 2015, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your application will remain in this step will vary by office and is largely determined by the number of cases ahead of yours. The interview notice will have specifics about time, location and anything you will need to bring to your interview. If your application remains pending beyond our normal processing times (as shown below) please contact our national customer service center at 1-800-375-5283. Please note that not every application/applicant will require an interview. In some instances, an interview is required by regulation and others an interview is requested because USCIS has determined that this is the most efficient means to determine eligibility. For a naturalization application the interview will include your taking the required English and/or Civics tests (unless exempt or waived).

mine is on Feb 3, 2015! Good luck to both of us!

  4. Just received my combo card today! Such a relief! Now comes the SSN name change on Monday and asap taking exam for DL!

Already requested a credit card today, just not sure if it'll get approved since my SSN is not yet on my married name and I have used my EAD with my married name to request it. Let's see how it goes! Hopefully I get my DL before the holidays! That would be amazing!

Good for you! But I am not sure for the credit card because I might show no credit score yet, but I guess some bank can open up for you as a secure credit card. Good luck!

still dont have my EAD but i have my Appointment letter for the interview which is Jan. 15. Is this normal?

It's a case to case basis! Mine still on RFE review recieved but I got my EAD already.

  5. I called USCIS and retrieved the tracking number for my EAD. Tracked it down and it was at my local post office. So I went to pick it up today so I can go to SSA today already. However, at the post office they told me that my card had already left with the mailman and it will be delivered today. It is now 5 PM and I doubt any mail is still coming. The delivery date on the USPS site is also Saturday so hopefully I will get it tomorrow.

I just don't understand how come my card was with the mailman and yet has not been delivered to me today as they said. It just doesn't make sense!

mine was delivered by the mail man too, it was a priority mail. and once it says on USCIS website that it has been mailed on a specific date, it takes 2-3 days to be delivered.

  6. Our notice of action on our EAD/AOS is dated September 24th, we had a request for evidence in October requiring a co-sponsor but we mailed them a response long ago. We are still waiting to hear from them :/ I'm guessing the late September filers are coming soon?

Did the website says that they recieved your RFE? Because when I sent my RFE back to them in 3 days it says that they got it and after a week my AED got approved.

  7. hello guys! :) I'm jut wondering on what to put on the educational background in the resume. I graduated in the Philippines with a Bachelor's Degree. i don't know if i'm gonna put it on the resume or just the highschool.

Hello My friend! Welcome back to VJs! I just go hired and will be starting next Monday, and yes you have to put your educational background specially if you have a Bachelor Degree.

  8. Hello VJ's,

I am wondering if someone could give me an input here, my AED is being mailed to me and I might get it this week, I will be starting a job next Monday, and I am still waiting for my AED, can the e-verify will prove my status as authorized for employment even though my card still in the mail? I am just worried that my new employer will not allow me to start without my AED card.

    Thanks!

  9. hi VJ friends....

First the good news APPROVED!!!! :dancing::dancing::dancing:

I want thank everyone here on behalf myself and my wife.

we arrived about 30 minutes earlier for our Interview.

we sign in appox 10 before our appointment. we waited for about half hour.

The IO called our name and ask my wife USC to in first with our lawyer. Told me to wait 15-20 min.

IO was very professional and respectful. immediately swore her. asked her for id.

asked her full name, date of birth, place of birth for both of us. when we met? when we got engaged? who propose to who? where was the proposal?

when we got married? who attended? did we exchange rings etc lot basic questions than he ask for more evidence such as bank statement he check to see if both deposit money in the account.

then look at my life insurance, auto and health make sure we are both listed. We didn't have any lease or mortgage on our name because we still at my parents until we find place we can afford. He asked and that's what we told him. My wife also pulled out a photo album with aprox 150 photos. He went over a lot picture ask where when and who in the pictures.

after that he sit her aside and went got me. pretty much asked the same questions including about my previous marriage. I told him the truth. I guess my advice is if you are legit and have everything organized in order.

Most important be honest and truthful. You shouldn't have a problem. after all the question he went over my application question name, address, phone number, Yes and No question from I485. That was it. He said everything looked good and he would review my papers and if everything was good he would approve us. We left and I was kind disappointed he didn't approve us on spot. Now again they have to do their job so I was fine. Me and my wife went out to eat

after a couple hours I got the email on my phone USCIS order production of my new card :dancing::dancing::dancing: I was so Happy I was screaming at that restaurant, My wife was laughing. It was a very special moment for both of us. I was a journey so far, I'm glad its over now. We are just gonna wait for my card to arrive. We plan on traveling and enjoying our life and be back in two years. We are not worried about that... We have our life ahead of us. She my other half and the love of my life!! (L)(L) I hope everyone here a successful journey with their papers. God Bless and good luck.

    congratulations!
