  1. You can put in a service request when having waited 5 months + an additional 30 days. After that, you can also involve your congressman. However, if the service center is backlogged, they can't really do much. It's still worth a try if you feel stuck without being able to do anything about it. You do have to give the congressman permission to look into your case on your behalf.

Have you set up an account on USCIS's webpage and added your case?

Congrats on starting new job, getting new apartment. I know it'd probably have felt better starting out that way both of you. On the bright side, most of this won't be a hassle when you finally reunite. It gives you a moment or two to save up and prepare things. I know if I had been in home country for a month or two more(the pay is much better in Denmark), I would've been able to buy a car right after POE. Or submit AOS faster.

EDIT: Igor's list is great most of the times but not when you discover it too early after receiving NOA1. I'm fairly sure it's got to be the most visited site on VJ. Besides, some are delayed because of background checks taking longer, other times it's a matter of the person sitting with your case.

    Here's to hoping you'll see NOA2 soon.

Hi ! I see that these posts are from 2012 - and its now 2014 and a lot changes, but Im searching High and Low for

information about what to do if its past the 5 month waiting period and you havent heard anything yet - but most

people who were filing in the same month as you have already gotten notice.

I got my NOA1 Feb 6th and its now July 6th -- Ive read that you can call, or get a congressman involved

but is it possible that this indicates my case was lost or that there is some issue?

Any shared experience or advice would me much appreciated.

  2. I think there is a thread for calling USCIS, but in general if you're at the mark you can request to speak to a tier 2 officer and get some answers. If that doesn't work people call their local congressperson's office to look into the matter....

Good luck and I'm sorry to hear this :(

We keep hoping for you feb filers!! Jake made it through just fine---he said immigration took 30 mins!!! We are both so tired today though...my mom and I have been painting the new place jake and I are moving into soon.....and he's been 20+ hours with little sleep...visa "journey" indeed.

Our warmest congrats to those who are united and highest hopes to our fellow febs still waiting. It is worth it :)

Im so happy for you that you are with your partner - that he's made it through :) !

I just hope everything goes smoothly here on out -

I want to make sure Ive done all that I was required as well - After receiving the NOA1 I wasnt supposed to take any action

Just wait for NOA2 - Right ? Alien registration # change was just internal and I didnt need to do anything for that, correct?

Reaching stages of it feeling so lonnnng!

Thank you for your reply x

  3. Hi ! My Fiance and I applied in early Feb 2014 and got our NOA1 on Feb 6th - Its now July 5th - and we havent heard anything since.

That is now the 5 month mark - has any one any advice? When we call what do they say and is it unusual that ours should take this long?

We applied at the Texas Service Center and he is coming from the UK.

Thank you so much - reading these threads gives me a lot of hope.

  4. I am applying for a K1 Fiance Visa for my partner living in the UK

I am using a joint sponsor - they are a married couple and joint own their income

My lawyer said that they only file 1 affidavit showing joint income, but

the affidavit of support only has space to write name, dob, ss # etc ...

does just the husband or just the wife (in my joint sponsor's case)

file ?? I need help please, thank you.

  5. Hello

I am applying for my fiancee to come to the US to marry me via the K1 visa.

He has a clean record of traveling in and out of the US -

However, in the time we've been together I (the US citizen) have been denied entry into the UK.

The circumstances were such that I was confused about the process - (how long I could stay,

and Im an artist who traveled w/ equipment that suggested to them that I would be "working"

whilst in the UK) - The circumstances were VERY frustrating and somewhat unfounded -

My question is - will the fact that Ive been denied entry to the UK - and have that marked in my

passport effect my Fiancee's case for coming to be with me in the US.

Has anyone else experienced this ?!

    Please Advise - Thank you.

  6. Hello,

Ive read that it strengthens your case and is required to show proof of ongoning contact in your K1 Visa petition

this can be in the form of emails, letters, phone records etc -

Am I correct to include this with my petition (first step) as well as present it during the interview that my fiance will perform ?

Also, we communicate mostly with facebook messenger and skype -

Ive printed out messages, about 10 pages (not full of text, but at least 1 conversation per month specific to marriage/commitment etc)

Ive also printed out skype records that show calls have been made on a regular basis for the duration of our engagement - up to present.

What is the acceptable amount of this to include in the petition and who has experience with presenting this ?!

Thank you in advance for providing information based on your experience.

    Regards,

    Claire Elise
