  1. Right now they're taking weeks to open emails and 30 business days from that opening to do anything bout the information. NVC is extraordinarily slow right now. Average time through is 55 days including expedites. :(

The IV bill is taking a full 30 business days from DS-261 submission to be notified of invoice (and then another week to be invoiced).

Yes and they seem getting slower everyday. I was hoping I will be done with NVC by now but I still have long way to go they way things are moving.

  2. Not sure what's wrong with sending the approved I130 to the local office. Prior 2006 this is how USCIS used to handle the situation when both I130 and I129F are approved. They simply used to send the approved I130 to local office and let the I129F proceed to the embassy for immigrant visa. Once the beneficiary in the US and ready to adjust status, USCIS will retrieve the approved I130 to start adjustment of status.

Are they starting to do this again? Maybe they are. No one can tell for sure.

  3. No it isn;t faster. We did 100% electronic processing through Amman. The only difference is that everything you send is scanned and attached to email, it still has to be reviewed just like anyone else's case. In fact when our case was at NVC it took longer than those who sent the physical documentation to them. Don;t ask me why :/

Thanks for the info. Was hoping electronic processing will save me few weeks but apparently not.

  4. So sad things turn out this way..... But you have to continue to hope and trust in God Almighty and real soon the whole visa journey will come to an end.... We are also waiting to receive RFE from TSC it was mailed on March 24th and till today we ve not received their letter to know what RFE was all about. My wife called 2 days ago and she was ask to wait for 15 days and if after 15 days she did not receive the mail that she should call them back....... Is unbelievable. I just wanna share our own experience on here. Hope the letter will come next week by his grace.... Fingers across...

I hope you get yours soon!

They will tell you that you HAVE an RFE, not what the RFE is for. I've YET to see that on this website since I've been here. If anything every single time there's an "OMG I HAVE AN RFE!!!" thread, someone claims to have called and been told to wait for the letter.

    Maybe you're special.

Thanks NLR for the info. I will wait longer and hopefully get it soon. If not, I will try to setup an infopass appointment to try to get a copy.

  5. I filed I130 for CR1 Feb 4th 2014 and on March 27th I filed K3 petition. Shortly after I filed K3 I got an email that RFE issued for my I130 petition. Now that I know my I130 is being worked on I careless about K3 visa. Do I need to cancel my K3 or just let NVC administratively close it (assuming they will approve the two petitions together)?

Is it going to slow me down now by any chance?

    Thanks

  6. you need to start an expedite with an ISO.

Since you've not done that yet,

    you should start that, tomorrow.

IMO and IME, you wasted time in talking with a CSR.

Still, what to do, is your choice.

My status changed yesterday to RFE issued. Apparently someone is actually working on my case. Still waiting for the actual letter in the mail. Hopefully something simple. :clock::clock::clock:

  7. In reality if you made no income or below the minimum you don't need to file taxes but with immigration it seems easier and more straight forward to just file taxes for the past three years instead of trying to explain things to USCIS and respond to their RFE (most likely you will get one if you don't file taxes). You can use turbotax online it's cheap and straight forward considering you have no income.

    Good luck.

  8. No point getting angry at K-1 applicants, it's not like they're controlling anything.

No I'm not mad. They just lucky. The point is I just don't understand why they get approved quickly I know they still need to get married, file AOS etc. But for IR1/CR1 applicants submitting I130 is just the start and it shouldn't take ~ 8 months (if not more) just to get the petition approved.
