When I arrived in the states I was told I had to be medically tested here as well. Was mainly just a test for TB and basic medical. I guess my lawyers decided it was a good idea for me to do it lol.

I had my original medical in Australia in December 2013 and then my medical here in the states in June 2014. So no doubt that will expire and I will have to do that again as well.

Joined the dreaded Potential Interview waiver club on 12/2/2014 here we go back to waiting once more. My I-485 was received on July 28th. God you have to love this waiting game.

Just to clarify I did have the fingerprint check done not just a name check. I figured that it would be better to spend the extra money and know I would have no problems. Good luck with your journey.

That is all I provided them with and I am happily state side now.

I was ex military and I had lived in numerous states within Australia, so instead of getting a police certificate from every state I just used the federal police check. I had no problems at all using that one.

I recently got married in New York and I had to produce my birth certificate to get our marriage licence. They used the birth certificate for proof of age and to put my parents names on the licence, I also took my passport as well, better to be over prepared than under. Good luck with your wedding.

I am in a same sex relationship with my spouse. I am currently in the US and we have just started the adjustment of status procedure here in the states. As far as the name change goes it gets difficult with same sex couples because of Australia not recognising the union. What I have therefore done is hyphenated my name I used her surname first and then left mine last. ie: if her name was smith and mine brown I hyphernated it Smith-Brown. I did it because to change my name in Australia I have to do it through birth death and marriages and it has to be signed by one of their office workers I believe, so I figured with my name still being the last part until I can get back to Australia to do that my passport etc will still be recognised. My Social Security Number etc have my married name. If you can do it before you leave Aussie and have it all done then that is an option to look out, but with time constraints that can be difficult. Look at all your options, it is a lot harder for us than for other couples. If I can help at all please don't hesitate to ask.

When I went for my interview in Sydney, I took photographs, copies of all my bookings and my partners when we visited each other, cards that I had received etc. I did not need any of it but I took it, better to be safe than sorry.

Yes I believe it is for married couples as well, I even saw a directive to the consulates saying it was not to be used for K1 Visa's. Hopefully they will get back to me soon and let me know if it is actually required or not. Thanks for your advice I appreciate it.

I was under the impression it was not needed either until they added it to my requirements lol. I think they have done it just to send me into a panic. I have emailed them for confirmation but can't understand why they would say I needed it. Just trying to confuse me I think. This is what they sent me.
The following items are required before your visa can be issued. Please refer to the list below of items that will be required on the day of your interview.

Hey everyone,
I am a newbie posting here but I have been following most of you since my application arrived in Sydney. I have a question for those of you who have received Packet 4. Were you required to fill out form DS-260 and take the confirmation sheet with you as well as the DS-160. It is on the list of requirements I have been given for my interview and is confusing the hell out of me. Thanks for your help.
Case Was Received At My Local Office
in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
Posted
Hey everyone,
I am a May 2017 filer and I wanted to give you a little bit of insight. My status also showed that my case had been transfered to the local office firstly in Feb2018 and then again in April2018, I know there was a lot of talk about wether this was a mistake or if an interview would come next, so I waited and kept my eye on here to see what was happening.
On June 16, 2018 I received a letter from Vermont service centre stating my case is approved and I will receive my new green card in the next 30 - 60 days. There was no interview and my case was never transferred to a local office.
For those who may not know what is going on, I hope this may help you a little. Good luck everyone.
