USCIS is still processing the cases so you should see progress.

    Hello Onek,

How do you know USCIS is still processing IR5 visas for parents? I mean, it just looks like the issuance of green cards for parents is on pause too but I hope that is not the case. If that is the case, I guess I will have to wait until the embassy opens again since my parents are just waiting for the embassy to designate an interview date for them.

    Thank you!

    Hi Luifer,

Please make sure to look at the I-130 Instructions on USCIS's page: https://www.uscis.gov/i-130

That page will tell you all the docs that you need.

As for sending your I-130 packet, please also remember to send them your mother's birth certificate with a translation. The translation can be conducted by anyone who knows that language and who is willing to sign a translation certificate. The only requirement is that that person can't be you.

You will send NVC your I-864 packet when they receive they received your approved I-130 from USCIS and until they authorize to do so. In that packet, you will send your most recent takes along with 2016 and 2015 although providing with them with 3 years worth of taxes is optional. In that packet, you will also include a copy of your ID, Natz cert, passport and her passport. Please check and see if you will be needed a co-sponsor if you don't earn enough annual income. You don't have to include her divorce decree unless she did not change her name and her current name doesn't reflect your own last name.

Thanks short_man21! Yes, I went through the instructions on the USCIS website. I was just a bit confused by the requirements stated there and from what people have told my mother back home that are going through the same process. So, it looks like not only my birth certificate must be included in the I-130 packet but also hers. Good to know! I also heard they also need to be notarized, is this correct? She never changed her name so I guess no need for the divorce decree then. As for the cosponsor, I would definitely use my wife as a cosponsor since she makes a lot more money than me and to just be safe ya know. Thanks a lot for your help! I will ask you more questions as I'm going through the process if you do not mind

  3. Hi guys,

I will be filling for my mother soon and I'm wondering what documents I need to send to NVC. So far, from what I have read, here are the docs I think I'm supposed to mail:

    - Cover letter

    - I-130 form

    - G-1145 form

    - Check for fees

    - Copy of my birth certificate, certified translation in English. (Not sure if this needs to be notarized or legalized by the Minister of Foreign Affairs in my home country)

    - Copy of my naturalization certificate

    - I-864 form, affidavit of support? (Not sure if I need to send this now or later after it gets approved by the NVC)

    - Copy of my mother's birth certificate? (I've heard some people have also sent this too but not sure if this is true)

    - Also, my mother's divorce decree?

if anyone has gone through this experience, any feedback would be appreciated! Thank you!

Same here, also got a 400 in line interview update while 751 is pending. Please let the forum know, as far as I know, we have not seen one CSC filer from June or July who has been 751 approved with 400 pending. The general speculation is that people like us who applied for 400 while 751 is pending might get a delay on 751 so they can approve both at the 400 interview, I hope you will get the 751 approval because of that is the case, then it will break that speculation, please let the forum what the service request says. Fingers crossed.

Thank you, Zombie69! Yes, I heard about that speculation too. Hopefully, it is not like that and we will get approved soon. I will definitely let the forum know as soon as I hear something from them. I'm just going crazy at this point with this whole process.

  5. Correct. Even the USC doesn't have such an appointment, they still need to write their name and sign in Part 8.

I had the exact same question as you last week. Write your name (immigrant) and sign in part 7 and write the US Citizen Spouse name and sign in part 8.

Thank you for your help! Much appreciated! I just wanted to double check this is how it should be done. I feel like you can't make any mistakes filling all these forms out for "Uncle Sam" ya know haha.

  6. Hi everyone!

I'm about to send this I-751 package in 2 weeks and I'm confused about Part 7 and 8. So from my understanding, in Part 7 is where you write the conditional permanent resident's name and sign and Part 8 is where you write the USC spouse's name and sign? Even though it talks about the ASC appointment and the spouse or the USC doesn't have such an appointment for fingerprints, photographs, etc? I would really appreciate any help on this!

    Thank you!!!!!

  7. Yeah thats right. Sorry. I'm applying for the K1 Visa through the US embassy in Buenos Aires. I actually contacted the US embassy in Buenos Aires about these little concerns I had and they said that those docs don't need to be sent to the US embassy in Caracas, just legalized by the Vzlan Foreign Affairs.

As for the translations, they accept docs in both english and spanish for the interview; however, they need to be translated for the adjustment of status once I'm in the US.

Thank you so much for your help GJen. I appreciate it!

    Saludos!

  8. I'm the beneficiary and was born in Venezuela. However, I am a permanent resident of Argentina and am applying for the K1 visa through the Argentine embassy in Buenos Aires.

My birth certificate and Venezuelan police certificate were issued in Venezuela. Do these documents need to be legalized by the US Embassy in Caracas in order for the US Embassy in Buenos Aires to recognize them?

I had my police certificate legalized by the Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs, but am wondering if this needs to be legalized by the US Embassy in Caracas in order for it to be recognized in other US Embassies.
