  1. What Greenbaum is saying is that if your child is from you and your US citizen husband then the child is a US citizen and should have a US passport...no need for ECC...but if they have a Filipino passport...(which they shouldnt) then thats a different story...

  2. op...lets say this first and it will save you time and effort. The only co-sponsors I've ever seen thru Manila is the CR1 route (spousal). That being said, you'll need an AOS with all tax returns from the co-sponsor. But again, before you go that route...talk with Hank...he pretty much knows all about k1s....just my thoughts...

wow...Hank chimed in before I could hit enter...good job Hank...

  3. To the OP...can I strongly suggest NOT going next week unless its unaviodable...they are expecting 5plus million people in the exact area of SLEC...most hotels are booked now or priced so high as to be robbery. SLEC and the embassy are closed the 15th and 16th and it will be chaos...Last Friday they had the fesitval of the Black Nazaree (spelling), several people were killed and several hundred were hurt...they are expecting 5 times as many people in the same area for the Popes visit. WE have a condo across the street from St Lukes and my wife wont even leave the condo during that timeframe....just food for thought....

  4. Good day all, we care caught in that time were we filed a while ago (the old $230 fee) and our interview is Jan 9...so the fee increase ($325) appear to effect us. Anybody know if the increase is collected at the Embassy or ??? There doesn't appear to be any mechanism to pay it online. Am I missing something? Thanks...

  5. Hank...what you're saying is true to a point but not accurate here. We were expedited for Yolanda a year ago so the Embassy made the first appointment not NVC...then my stepson was diagnosed with active TB so we did the 6 month treatment...after that a new medical...St Lukes used to schedule the interview after the new medical but they dont anymore...now the applicant does....

  6. Good day all, my question is this....I went online to schedule an appointment for my step-son's cr2 interview and got a date (26 Jan), scheduled it and got a conformation letter...yet when I sign out the site said no appoinment was scheduled...hhhuuummm?? ok..this morning I signed back on to look for an earlier date...9 Jan was available so I scheduled that....2 questions...when signing back out it still said no interview was scheduled but yet again I got a conformation letter in my email and also, it let me schedule the earlier appointment without first canceling the 26 Jan date. Has anybody experienced this??? Wierd...but I do have a conformation letter for 9 Jan so.....

  7. Good morning all...my wife's visa was issued last week on 7/23....since then its been updated 7/25, 7/28 and again today, 7/30. Seems like allot of updating??? Tried to see if anything is at 2go via UID, passport and case number and all are "invalid". Does this appear normal??? Blowback from the computer glitche or??? any thoughts would be appreciated....thanks...

  8. Hello....firstly, you can always request an expedite under humanitarian reasons. I'm certain that they will question why the 8 plus months delay if you use Haiyan as your bases. Does your wife have court ordered sole custody of the children?? And yes...you have to ask to expedite at both the USCIS and NVC....Be aware, because so many people showed up at the embassy not prepared, the embassy at Manila will probably only agree to expedite after the NVC as gathered all needed documents for the visas...by the way...Im speaking from experience, my wife lived in Northern Cebu and lost her home and family business between Haiyan and the earthquake....good luck...

  9. Ok...dont freak out but be more specific. Since they requested a CENOMAR I'm assuming that your wife is filipina working in Hong Kong...and if she's gotten that then one down. Your next questions of "when will they send your case back" makes no sense. You have up to a year to fulfill the 221(g) requirements and if not then your case goes abandoned...never being sent back. The only reason for the embassy to "send back" an applicant is if they assert that the USCIS shouldn't have approved it in the first place...so...relax...and get them the employment letter ASAP....and yes...it is normal to go from READY to AP after an interview with outstanding documents....good luck.

  10. Update...contrary to Greenbaums advice I did contact my senator 7/18 and faxed all supporting documents to him 7/21. His office contacted the embassy and they (USEM) called my wife on 7/22 asking "if issued can she leave before her medical expires" (of course she can). The visa went from AP to "issued" 7/23 and was updated as "issued" again on 7/25 (Im assuming because of the DC computer issue)....

  11. I dont know for certain...firstly, they didnt know that they had it...SLEC asked my wife for her passport (in that she needed to Update her medical)...once she said that it was at the embassy....SLEC looked for it and found it...they said that they would release it and updated results back to the embassy (on July 11)...but it seems like noone really knows whats going on...:-(

  12. Good day all, my wife had here interview JUne 9th and received a 221(g) for a CENOMAR and NBI clearance with all names. The embassy received all back (thru 2go) on June 20th and last update on CEAC was July 11th. So is this usual or is it time to contact a Congressman/Senator??....BTW, mixed in with all this we had a feasco where St. Lukes had her passport for 2 weeks (for a medical update) and didnt know to send it back to the embassy. Anybody have experience of how long such 221(g)s should take....thanks....

  13. Yep...my wife had her interview on June 9. They kicked back both her CENOMAR and NBI for not having all names used....The embassy received all back from us June 20, and we are still AP.... :-(

  14. OP...I agree with apple 21....and DO NOT do what Sirliner suggests...the 221(g) gives you specific instruction, one of which is to attach a copy of the email to your response..also, the Embassy should have given you a paper to give to the 2go which lists what you need and allows for free delivery. Have your fiance DHL whatever to you...and you send them through 2go...if your fiance tries to do it from the States it will confuse and delay things...good luck...

  15. To the OP. You might want to go online and search for a company that secures the clearances for you. My wife worked in Canada and needed a clearance and we were told the 30 to 60 day thing. However, we found a company in Canada that officially secures the clearances in days and can DHL them to you (we needed to fax her fingerprints and a photo to them). It was expensive, about $125 for the clearance and another $100 plus or minus to DHL from Canada but my wife had her clearance in less then two weeks. Just a thought...Good luck...
