  1. Hi,

I am recently married after my fiancé was here on a k1 visa and have a few questions...

1- For form i-693 my husband had his medical in NZ on November 20 and has all vaccines. DO we just fill out the first steps of the sheet? I am just a bit confused and not gathering solid information on the internet. Or do I just hand in the vaccination record?

2- do i the usc need to fill in a g-325a like we did for the i-129f?

3-I had a real hard time getting my co sponsor to do the paperwork for the k-1 interview and I'm afraid to ask her again. At the interview they only looked at my papers and didn't even glance at my co Sponsors. I do reach the minimum wage but I've only been employed since July so I don't have w-2s or anything. But I do have more than enough money to support the two of us.

I would just like to proceed with this process without a co sponsor but I don't know if that's possible since I don't have w2s or itr.

Please let me know if you think this is doable or I will need a co sponsor!

    THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

  2. Hi,

Question about the affidavit of support for adjustment of status...

I had a real hard time getting my co sponsor to do the paperwork for the k-1 interview and I'm afraid to ask her again. At the interview they only looked at my papers and didn't even glance at my co Sponsors. I do reach the minimum wage (at 125%) but I've only been employed since July so I don't have w-2s or anything. But I do have more than enough money to support the two of us.

I would just like to proceed with this process without a co sponsor but I don't know if that's possible since I don't have w2s or itr.

Please let me know if you think this is doable or I will need a co sponsor!

  3. That is extremely helpful and makes me feel much better! Did he mention the K1 when coming through immigration do you recall? Thank you so much!

Sounds like great advice, thank you! I am just so keen for everything to go smoothly, and would be devastated to be turned away after travelling all the way to Oregon, especially as plane tickets are so expensive! I will just try to ensure I have sufficient evidence for ties within the UK and keep my fingers crossed.

Yup he mentioned it both times and had a copy of our I-129f just in case!

  4. This is very helpful thank you. We are flying together (as he is currently visiting with me) on December 8th and I had planned to stay until January 21st so that I get to spend my birthday (mid Jan) with him as well. I am concerned however, as I plan to return a month later (Feb 25th) for a couple of weeks as his sister is getting married and I am invited. I am worried that these two visits so close together may cause problems. I'm unsure what to say at immigration second time round as I am there for the wedding, but of course will be seeing him also.

    Any thoughts?

My fiancé visited me in the us while our k-1 was being processed twice, with two months in between the trips. He didn't have close ties to his country but had enough and got through with no problem. He is still here and we are traveling to his country in November for the interview. As long as you have ties and don't overstay, you won't have a problem!! And once before he was traveling and only had 1 month between visits (with the vwp) and had no problem then

    Hope that helps!

  5. does anyone know how long police clearance forms are good for? we did ours back in january when we originally filed and just got our packet 3 today, and was wondering if that is still good?

also, my fiancé is here currently in the united states. his mom scanned his packet over to us while he is here on a visit, but since there is stuff that needs his signature, i am not too sure what to do. should i have her mail the packet here? or should i print off the scanned copy and just submit that? he is going back to NZ soon, but not soon enough for all of this stuff to wait

    thanks!

  6. So here are my today's question's my dear fellow visa journey friends.

On Monday it showed "case ready" at New Delhi, so as everyone suggested, we finally yesterday submitted the DS-160 online. I the petitioner hasn't received the letter from NVC yet saying that case has gone to New Delhi, but of course after calling they told me and gave me the case and invoice id number. I would like to know where do we use the invoice ID number. I did see the requirement on the DS-160.

    1. So can we schedule an interview date now even though I have no paperwork except the NOA 2 and NOA 1?

    2. She hasn't received anything from the embassy yet, I know she needs the "packet" to get the PCC. They wont let her get it without a hard letter

    3. I see that a payment is due, once the DS-160, should we pay it now, or wait and please advise where to pay it.

    4. I am not sure if I have missed something, but please advise if I did. Thanks all again

    Thanks in advance.

yeah i am wondering all of the same things! anyone know?

  7. Hi Everyone,

We received our NOA2 a few days ago after 8 months! My fiancé is currently here in the states and I was wondering if it will be ok to finish and wait for this process to finish while he is here. His mailing address is to here in the states, so we will get all forms here, but would it it be ok for him to be here up until the medical exam and interview? Right now his ticket back to NZ is Nov 17, and he would like to stay here as long as possible before going back for the medical and interview.

Thank you to anyone who can help!

  8. Thank you everyone, am very relieved :)

  10. Hi January Filers - Can someone please give us an idea of how many of you (that you are aware of) have not received your NOA2 yet? And have you made enquiries about your case and received a SPECIFIC explanation pertaining to your case which might be causing delay? Are there those among you who have been delayed for no apparent reason?

I'm still waiting.january 17 noa1 then was held in security checks for 50+ days according to my congressman. Then got a RFE august 16 and took 5 days to get the letter and mailed off once my fiancé got here for a visit. Hoping is approved soon and this nightmare is over for the rest of us!

  11. I just received my RFE… USCIS was useless in helping me on the phone, does anyone know if they want my photocopies of the original forms that are dated back in January? or do they want me to update everything and date it to August. Any help is appreciated. And i KNOW i sent this stuff in… they have to have lost it… should i send both?

  13. In the UK, we take the birth certificate, etc with us to the interview. It is only completed forms we send to the embassy. So I didn't take any of that with me to the US.

However, I did apply for the K1 visa from within the US. As I didn't want to be caught with my birth certificate, divorce papers in my luggage (they may consider that I was going to attempt to AOS from within the US), I actually mailed it all to my fiancé.

sorry to be such a pain, but what did you do if/when they asked about a job? or ties to the uk?

  14. I travelled to the US with only short gaps between visits - 89 days in the US, 6 weeks back in the UK, 90 days in the US, 6 weeks in UK, 8 weeks in US. Not really recommended as you are supposed to spend more time OUT of the US than IN the US. I took plenty of proof of ties to the UK each time I flew - on my last trip in April 2013, those ties were getting quite tenuous. The only time I was ever asked for anything was on that last trip - I was asked for evidence of my return ticket which, naturally, I had with me.

I got my NOA2 whilst in the US on that trip and completed all the forms in the US and sent them to the US Embassy in London via FedEx (this was back in May 2013 - I think the process is different now). I flew back to the UK and had my medical the same day - not really recommended as my blood pressure was high. My interview was then 3 weeks later (my fiancé was also with me at the interview).

Thanks, that was very helpful! Did you take your birth certificate with you and everything else you had to send in? Do you remember if you brought anything else to the states in preparation? Thats one thing I am worried about that he will need while he is here
