My wife has a state ID that was issued over 2 years ago but still hasn't gotten a driver's license. If she gets a DL now or before her interview, obviously it is going to have a recent issue date. During the citizenship interview when they ask for your drivers license would it raise any red flags if she turned in her state ID as well as drivers license or just state ID. I think they check for this to make sure you have lived in the state for at least 3 months before you apply for citizenship.

We have a ton of other evidence that she lived in the state (apartment lease, utility bills etc) to prove it or do you recommend us to wait to get a DL for her until she is thru her interview?

    Any thoughts?

In fact, there is no law passed yet to conduct interviews for all I-751 applicants, it is simply impossible. The immigration officer gave you wrong information with a complete unprofessional behavior. Since October-1 Adjustment of Status based on employment interviews are mandatory by the USCIS because of red flags and issues in the past.

I agree..  Perhaps there might be a quota that USCIS wants to fill where they will call you for an interview even if there aren't any red flags. I had a friend of mine who they did call for an interview and they were in and out very quick. The interviewing officer didn't really understand why they were called because he couldn't see anything concerning...

hey everyone just want to let everybody know specially my fellow August filers that we got the approval letter earlier this month actually dec.15 to be exact we got our approval letter saying that our petition for removal of condition has been approved and we shall wait for the green card within 60 days, but to my surprise 3 days later I GOT MY 10 YR GREEN CARD in the mail. We were so happy! it's the best christmas gift ever!!! a year and 4 months of wait is so worth it, we didnt get any RFE's thank god! its just the long wait that makes my anxiety level go up but all in all it was a good battle you guys. Now our next and final step CITIZENSHIP and we can officially say we are done!!

Congrats... What was your NOA? I hope all August filers get approved in the next few weeks.

Just talked to a tier 2 officers, he told me my 751 is being merged with 400 at NBC as predicted, and they will adjudicate both on the same day after they are received by my field office. Nothing new and exciting, I might confirm that when I go to the info pass appointment on Friday. -_- Still can't trust what they say as USCIS is unpredictable at times.

They are VERY unpredictable. Let us know what you find out at your info pass appointment.

  5. Can someone tell me whether my NOA is 08/22? Below is what I see on USCIS website.

I remember USPS had lost my receipt mail and I had directly gotten my biometrics notice so I am just a little curious about my dates.

On August 22, 2016, we received your Form CRI-89, Petition to Remove Conditions of Permanent Resident Status Received, Receipt Number WACxxxxxxxxxx, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by September 21, 2016, please call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

I tried changing last two digits of my case number and searched for its status. I found that to be a useful tool to check whats up with near by applicants... My NOA is Aug 19th and none of the applicants after Aug 15th seems to have gotten any approval. Hopefully this will move by end of January. This wait is absolutely soul crushing

It is soul crushing... I try to have a positive outlook in life but unfortunately this seems to be an indefinite drag. The good thing though is we are all almost there and we will all be approved... :jest::jest:

It is an unfortunate situation for many CSC August filers. The slowness might force some August filers to file 400 after all after waiting for 751 for over 15 months, the original purpose is to wait it out for 751 without applying for 400 to avoid 751 being combined, but the holidays are coming, and August processing seems to be stalling or going very slowly. Applicants should not have been put in a tough situation like this, it should not be a gamble, i think in a year of unprecedented slowness, and if your ultimate goal is 400, it is probably a better gamble to apply 400 while you are eligible and forget about 751 for the bigger picture since 751 processing is highly unstable and unpredictable.

This is just another set back from USCIS that since a few months they slowed down for unknown reasons and some of us will require another set of biometrics. I live nearly 400 miles from the only place where biometrics is done in my state which means I will have to take 2 days off work to take care of this. I just wish they didn't treat us this way, but there is absolutely nothing we can do about it. It's just the way they want to run their business...

I have been waiting for my green card for over a month since I received the approval letter. I called USCIS yesterday and they told me to wait  60 days, before calling them again.  This is just so frustrating. The officer was so rude.

I would care less unless if you have to travel abroad right away.

Knowing that you made it on the other side of the tunnel, should make you happy:jest: .

I would sit tight and not worry too much about it because it is just a matter of time before you get the card!

For those of you and myself included who applied for 400 while 751 is pending. Been thinking about why USCIS may delay 751 in this situation I guess It kind of makes sense from USCIS' perspective, by the time the 400 interview comes around for applicants like us, most applicants after the approval have to surrender their 10 year green card at the oath ceremony. Knowing those of us whose ultimate goal is 400, why approve 751 and go through the trouble of producing the card knowing it will be returned to them again just after 7 or 8 months of the possession of the 10 year green card, I guess it is just more efficient or cost saving from their respective, but our reward may be quicker process overall to get to the goal of 400 without having to wait for 751. I guess it is not a bad deal except being kept in the dark for 7 or 8 more months about the 751 status. Alway the patience that does the trick.:P. I have heard from a few reports that after the 400 interview is approved, some applicants just got the oath letter directly without even getting notified for 751 approval. It was approved by law, they obviously had to, but they just would not send you the green card to the 400 applicants who were approved obviously. Two birds with one stone kind of situation, that is one of the pros for applicants like us i guess.

I am sure people would prefer getting their naturalization certificate from USCIS than their 10 year green card. :jest:

On another note, if USCIS advanced by 15 calendar days then I predict the following-

    Update -          October 13 2017 - July 19 2016 (Processing date)

    Potential update - Nov 13 2017 - August 3 2016

    Potential update - Dec 13 2017 - August 18 2016

    Potential update - Jan 13 2018 - September 2 2016

Let's hope by end of January all of us August 2016 filers @ CSC get approved. It's a really long wait ;)

Looks pretty solid, but it might have been even more solid if you have photos and letters from friends, but i think you should be ok.

I know, just want to get over with it.

Zombie, Do you know if a person begins the naturalization process are they required to get thru it without leaving the U.S. or it would make their application void? Is that true at all? A friend of mine told me that and it some how didn't make sense. There are many people who take short trips and return.

  12. What is the probability that we might get an RFE? This is the evidence that we submitted.

    • Certified copy of birth certificate of our daughter
    • 2 Apartment lease(s) showing joint occupancy for nearly 2 years
    • Joint checking account statements with transaction history for nearly 2 years
    • Joint utility bill(s) - Internet & electricity for nearly 2 years
    • Proof of health insurance together for over 14 months plus daughter added after birth
    • Joint credit card statements for about 16 months
    • Drivers License/State IDs for 2 states (we had moved in between) , both showing the same address
    • IRS transcripts for 2 years showing Married and jointly filed.

We are still together & all of this still is valid. However, the thing that worries me is we don't have any loans together to further document intermingling of financial resources. We thought of getting a new car, but with my student loan payment and wife not working, it just isn't possible at the moment for us. It was also not possible for us to save money for a down payment for a house.

With that being said, does the above evidence look good enough? I am just worried if they ask for additional information, I do not have anything beyond this to show our marriage is bonafide.

    Thoughts?

    Not at all.

First, the senator (or people that work for him) will gather the facts.

Then the senator will learn the facts:

    • USCIS receives close to 9,000 I-751 applications per month.
    • California Service Center is currently processing I-751 applications from July 2016
    • The reason they are behind is because they are loaded with work reviewing all sorts of applications (not only I-751)
    • Your application at California Service Center is in a pile with 9000 other applications of August 2016.

What can Senator do? Ask USCIS to give you preferential treatment over the other 9000 or more applications? That would be unfair. He won't do that. Ask USCIS to hire more workers? Can't. They have a budget.

On the other hand, Senators should be concerned and occupying their time with other VERY important issues for the country, such as health care and taxes reforms (or not), NOT an anxious I-751 filer.

In consideration of the issues above, I would not call the senator for this.

    You nailed it... :jest::jest::jest:

Being very realistic,  we should be approved by Feb- March 2018.

You will absolutely get your card before 11/25. From what I have witnessed online, VSC usually approves and mails out the letter a week or 2 in advance of the green card production order. With CSC, most folks only know of their approval through the 'card ordered' status update. CSC usually sends out the approval letter pretty close to when they mail the card. I for instance received my card and the approval letter same day.

I say give it about a week or 2 to get the card ordered update. Another week or 2 after that, you should receive the card.

    Thanks... I appreciate your feedback.

  15. 3 minutes ago, MaleAlpha said:

Did your status change to 'card production ordered'?. If it did, it takes on average between 5 - 7 business days to receive the card. If you only received the approval letter without a 'card production ordered' status change, there's no way of telling when you will receive the card. It has to be produced and mailed out first.

No it didnt. My NOA1 is 08/22 and I plan to take a trip abroad leaving 11/25. I hope to get approved and get the card before then as I dont want to drive 500 miles to nearest field office to get my passport stamped. Thanks for the info.
