  1. I had filed my taxes as "Single" and did not know I should have done "Married but filing seperately". One of my Uncle is an immigration agent and files paperwork for other individuals so I consulted him about it and found out that my file is about ready to leave NVC and should be in its last stages as well and he advised me to just leave it as it was and not to worry about it. I do not mean to jinx it for myself or give you false hopes that it will work. My uncle has acted as an agent for thousand's of couple and he advised me to just wait and let it be. So for now I will take his word for it and hope that my wife gets her Visa soon. :)

  2. Yay!!! As far as I'm concerned you're a January filer since your NOA1 was in January ... so in my mind I'll be telling myself that they are working on January. Woohoo!!

Well whatever makes you feel happy. I will stick with Dec :). But what I'm still confused about is, I never got any email/text about this. The USCIS website shows that my file is still in Initial review. My file was at TSC and I there are other 4 people whose file is at TSC based on the spreadsheet for Dec Filers (Link below). They had received their NOA1 in Dec way before I had even sent my petition in. Yet it seems that I am the first to be approved from that list of 5 who are at TSC. So Happy about it! :dancing:

I am really hoping that they will also hear some good news pretty soon as well. Thanks again nanana for making that spreadsheet and keeping it up to date, really helps track down the progress. :)

  3. Good News guys! I just received my NOA2 via mail. I was in for a total surprise and shock when the mail came... I am so happy. I was surprised because I was not expecting the mail to come in this soon given that my file was sent in on very last day of Dec and on the spreadsheet I was amongst the last ones to get their NOA1 from Dec 2013 filers and my file was at TSC and shocked because the site still says, that my file is in Initial Review. Moving on to NVC, hoping won't have any hiccups down the line either and it will be a smooth sail like this one. :)

Hang in there everyone, it is coming, you will be getting your NOA2's really soon as well. Best of luck! :D

  4. Hi guys,

I had some free time today and decide to create a spreadsheet for us, so we can follow our approvals that are nearing to happen !

here is the link https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArGj4MzWBVCjdHN3RG5SWHg3SHpKekdKdlJabXV4MEE&usp=sharing take a look please.

I also created a Registration Form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/17av-prooHtK5C66qJ_rCE0U2RcBjZVyhnCVrxDeQIbo/viewform so if anyone doesn't see oneself there and want to be there just fill it in please and I will add this person to the spreadsheet.

I created it with information I found on your profiles, posts, timelines so PD of some of you is actually your noa1 date therefore I am very keenly to change it!

Thank you so much for coming up with this spreadsheet. Added myself to the list as well! :D Eagerly waiting on hearing some good news.. :)

Who has their NVC packets done already?

I am thinking of doing mine over this week and having it ready to be sent out.. :D

  5. Within 2 weeks I had my text and hard copy . Within 6 days I had mine and 11 days for hard copy . However you were closer to holidays then when I sent mine . I think you may hear something this week .

You were right Tandag1025. I ended up receiving a text message last night from USCIS with the receipt number and now waiting for the hard copy to show up in mail. biggrin.png

  6. It wouldn't be a matter of just staying there 6 months. He would have be a legal resident and want to make sure he could even file DCF in that country.

When choosing a visa type the country should be considered. India for example is a country where we see people going thru the K 1 process having a very difficult time in quite a few cases. There are many questions about the quality of relationship, religion ect that can cause the case to take much longer that the " short time " you describe. A P for example can be a black hole that is difficult to endure.

The more certain way is being married which allows the C R 1 path which they say they will do in October.

I understand that and I accept that I was misinformed like I mentioned before. Now let's try to get back to the topic and answer what the OP asked. :D

  7. Pmandeep, please pay attention to what's said in the opening post. The petitioner is an LPR - K-1 visa is not an option for him. Neither is the DCF that you mention as visa number is not immediately available.

    hi

he is only a LPR, K1 is only for fiancés of USC, so he cannot file for a fiancé visa

I am sorry I thought it was... sadly I was mistaken... I did however mention that my provided information would either be incomplete or incorrect... thank you for correcting my mistake and also providing me with the correct information. :)

  8. I don't know a whole lot but based on what I have read here and information gathered. What you can do is apply for a K-1 (Fiancee Visa) for her and the processing time on those are short or so I have heard. Once she comes to the states, what you can do is register your marriage in states and then file for a Adjustment of status for her and she ends up getting her GC.

Otherwise what you can do is opt in for DCF in which case you would have to be in India for 6mos. and get married to her in India during your stay there and then you can go directly to delhi with her and file her petition and she gets her IR1/CR1 visa's.

Or the last one is going the I-130 route which most of the people tend to do if you cannot stay there for 6mos. I myself have filed I-130 for my wife and am waiting for NOA1. I know it will take about a year to completion but neither one of us mind it as she gets to stay back home for one more year with her family and friends before coming to states.

But again I know what I said here may be incorrect or incomplete information and hopefully some of the VJ Guru's here will be able to shed some light on it for you. smile.png

    All the best!

  9. Within 2 weeks I had my text and hard copy . Within 6 days I had mine and 11 days for hard copy . However you were closer to holidays then when I sent mine . I think you may hear something this week .

@Tandag1025, Yes I am thinking the same thing, I checked my bank account yesterday and saw that they did deposit the check that I had sent. So I am hoping that I will get NOA1 by Jan 11th. :) /fingerscrossed.

I am soooooooooooo glad I did not go back to the usa and am waiting here with my hub and children whilst everything processes

got a phone call from a stranger your husband has been injured and the ambulance and police are here..........

nothing like a strong dose of reality to make time stand still, am delighted to say he is alive and no broken bones, has concussion, contusions, soft tissue damage etc...

here's to a safe and healthy new year to all dec filers and vj people, and again another reason why we should not have to be apart from family!!!!!!!!!!!!

@razspaz13. Glad to hear that he is alright and nothing serious has happened. Like kay&jeff mentioned this may as well be one of the biggest fear/anxiety factor for myself as well and hoping that nothing happens to her, while we are apart and waiting for our file to move forward and get to completion.

  10. Hello everyone,

I sent in I-130 for my wife to Chicago via UPS today, ended up doing a Next Day Air so I know they will have it sometime before noon tomorrow. Now I guess its time to wait and see when the first NOA comes in. Fingers Crossed and hoping it will be soon. smile.png

I hope everyone had a wonderful christmas and hope you all have a pleasant and joyous New Year! biggrin.png
