  2. As the title of this post says I am looking into switching my employment from a 9-5 job to spending more time on my startup. My wife's appointment date is now 30days away. I had made a post similar to this in past asking what would happen if I was to switch my employment but at that time the status of my AOS was not yet complete, so I decided to stick it out until the process was finished.

Now that we have the appointment date in hand and everything is completed and reviewed, would it matter if I was to switch jobs?

  3. Happy New Years To All

Im New To this forum I have a question if my scan date is 11/21 when will I get a case complete???

There is really no saying in when you would get a CC, but if your scan date is 11/21 then it takes them 60days to review which would put the date for your documents to be reviewed on or around Jan 21, 2015 and if you do not get a checklist when the documents get reviewed it should most likely be a CC from my understanding. Anyone else can correct me if I am wrong. Good Luck! :D

  4. hi guys! cc on dec 28.

just wondering if i will receive notification as soon as the appointment is booked or if it comes a week later.

should i be calling the nvc to find out?

Just call them up and ask for the status of your case and they should be able to tell you. That is how I was informed, I just called them up after seeing the change on my online portfolio and the lady told me it was a cc and gave me the interview date. So yea just try to call them up. :)

  5. Congrats pmandeep!!!!!

My last checklist scan date is 18th Nov, received checklist twice the wait is really long........its been my 9th month in NVC. Hope they don't send any checklist this time...

Thanks DC12345, Hopefully there won't be anything new except for you getting the good news! :)

I am sorry but, I am stil a little confused. So, let's say, I sent my documents on November 18 via certified mail, and it was received on November 20, but NVC doesn't send me an email acknowledging that it was received, does that mean that my scan day was November 20, or it only counts when NVC sends an email actually telling you that it was received? That is the problem that I was having with them. Packages were received and signed, but no email confirming from NVC. I hope I am not confusing you with all of these details, lol..

Honey&Bunny, my assumption is that if you sent in anything the date they recieved the document is the scanned date because everytime that I called up NVC to inquire about the status of my case, the scanned date that I was given for my documents happened to be the same days as it was received by them and my mail service's delivery date.

  6. Wow, Congratulations!!! Thanks so much for your update, That's a good news.so i will keep an eye on my online portfolio. Pls let us know when you receive the cc email.

After logging in and checking the online portfolio, I called up NVC to confirm and I was informed that the case was indeed completed and interview date scheduled for Feb 10th. Really an awesome way to end this year and start a new one. :D

  7. Guys, good news! :D

I logged into my online portfolio at ceac.state.gov and saw that the AOS information is changed from "Paid" to "N/A" and having read about this at multiple places about this, I guess my case is completed at NVC. And if that is true this has to be the best new year present ever. Looking forward to when do we get the Interview date. Will be calling NVC to find out for sure, I will keep you guys posted. :D

  8. Another update for NatanMel: I logged into my portfolio online at ceac.state.gov website and saw that my AOS has changed from "Paid" to "N/A". And as many people have mentioned on here that this change in status means case complete. Infact read the post in this thread by samluvs.

So my guess is Nov 7th is being reviewd right now or is already done. :D

  9. Congrats to all who got their case completed. My scan date is November 07 for both aos & iv. Which scan dates are they processing now? Thanks

Even I had a document that I had sent in and it was the last submission for my file on my part and scan date for that as well was Nov 7th. I believe that the OP has a request for checklist and it was scanned in on Oct 28th, he mentioned if it was not for the checklist it would have been done about two months ago. Now from what he mentioned he recieved his case complete on Dec 25th which was christmas. So my guess is 4 days ago they were doing Oct 28th so Nov 7th should be coming right up for review any day now. :D

  10. I am not sure if my asnwers are correct or not and maybe somebody else who has more information can shed more light on it.

    1) I am guessing you can be in India. I have read a lot of posts where people stayed in with their significant other out of US and they were okay. So I suppose you should be fine given thaat you have joint sponsors along with yourself.

    2) I don't really have answer to this question as to whether you would need a rework your 864 or not, maybe someone else will be able to give you a better answer. :)

  11. Hey Guys,

My file is almost close to its end at NVC and will be moving on pretty soon to India for the final step (interview). My question is would there be problems if I was to switch employement? I am planning on quitting my current job and am thinking of starting my own venture. Now I am going to India on Nov 19th to visit my wife as it has already been close to a year and will be there for a month with her. I am being hopeful that she will get her interview in that same time frame while I am there and both of us can come back together. So would there be a problem if I was to quit my current job and start my own venture? I have already read a few posts on VJ about this on how I may have to go about redoing the I864 and giving it to my wife so she can it along with her for her interview but those threads were in regards to a job switch, here I am not really switching a job I am quitting my existing one and starting my own company. So what are my options, should I just wait it out until she has had her interview and then quit or would it be okay for me to do it?

    Thanks. :)
