  1. Got email to pay IV fee yesterday, it still does not show on the website. I guess it is just matter of time. Now that I am ready to send my IV package. I do have a few questions...I read some where on the forum that you can (highly recommended) send pictures of wedding / vacations with this package. Is that true? I do not see any harm of sending pics, but Saylin more a question for you...would you recommend that? I know my spouse will be taking all that and more to the interview...but photos and other evidence ...should i send that ?

  3. One thing that I saw someone posting and a bit worries me, is the employment letter. I work for a fairly large corporation and they do not seem to have an employment letter. They have verification sites, which can be used by anyone. Does not really print anything

I have mailed paystubs for past 3 months. Not sure how to respond to a checklist requesting Employment letter

    Any ideas/suggestions are most welcomed

  4. Please also add me to the spreadsheet

    NOA 2 Approval 12/26/2013

    NVC recvd Case : 1/8/2014

    # assigned :2/7/2014 ( they did not accepted the emails as it was Friday and they just entered, so asked to call back on Monday Feb 10th to provided emails)

    DS 261 Available & Submitted 2/12/2014

AOS Invoice Available & Paid 2/13/2014

    AOS shows Paid 2/18/2014

    AOS package sent 2/19/2014

AOS delivered 2/20/2014 ( shows via mail tracking)

  5. Ok this might be more of a tax question. My W2 total income is different from my Adjusted Gross income on my Tax Transcripts.

Now what do I mention on the I864 EZ part 19 for Total income? The Adjusted Gross income or the W2?

Do I say N/A or none on Alien Registration for the beneficiary

    Do I say 0 or " -" on form part 16; b , c, d if there are no children/dependents etc

    Thanks in advance

  6. Plus is there a I 864 ez sample somewhere?

Need quick guidance regarding following fields

Part 2. Information on the immigrant you are sponsoring.

    5. Social Security & 6. Alien Registration -- Should this be left blank? or N/A

    Part 3. Information on Sponsor.

    9. Place of residence --since it is the same, should I mention "same as above" or N/A

    Part 4. Sponsor's household size.

    a. automatically comes as 2, that would me petitioner and beneficiary

    e. I do have 2 dependents (my parents); so f. would become 4

Question is do I write 0 in all the other lines or leave it as blank?

    Again this is greatly appreciated.

I got married in Nov 2012, but filed my 2012 tax (2013) as single. Also my W 2 for last year shows "single".

Now that I just paid my AOS bill, I do not wish to go about changing all that. Has anyone experienced issues with filing as single and getting a check from NVC?

Second question is, once the AOS shows paid. I can use the downloaded I864 ez with bar coded cover and other returns to mail to NVC? or am I waiting for I 864 EZ form from NVC?

NVC probably won't care (or even notice) your filing status. But the status you chose is wrong. It should have either been MFS or MFJ (or even HOH if you qualified). I would suggest amending them ASAP. If the CO at the embassy/consulate sees it, then can take that as a red flag ("why are they applying for a SPOUSAL visa when the petitioner is filing as SINGLE?"). And being a citizen or not doesn't mean anything. Please read the bottom of post 2.

NVC doesn't send the forms to you. They'll merely direct you to their website with links. So, yes, once the AOS shows as PAID on the payment portal, you can send the AOS package. No need to wait on them for stuff you can do now.

------------------------------some how quote wasn't showing both our conversation--------

I have been filing past 3 years as HOH (head of household) since I have parents as dependents. It shows on all my tax transcripts as HOH. It just does not show marital status. I notice the W2 I got from my company from last year shows single. I think I can get that fixed, and I am not filing for this year until after sending this AOS package. By the time my spouse do go for interview, I have either have correct W2 or filed for my taxes.

    Does the above work?

  10. Hello All,

We got our NVC case number assigned on Friday Feb 7th 2014. But the person said he cannot enter the email addresses yet, I need to call Monday.

I have a few questions, I know once they have our email addresses the beneficiary and the petitioner will receive emails for Agent and AOS information.

It is Feb 2014, and with my AOS do I need to send my W-2 s from 2013? I have worked in 2 companies last year. And I have got the W-2 from one but not from other yet. Of course I have not filled for this years taxes but I have W-2 from 2012 and tax returns up till 2013.

Is it ok to send the W2 from 2012 only and 3 years of tax returns only with my pay stubs and employment letter?

The other question is in regards to Police certificate, do I need to wait for the request for police certificate from NVC or I can go ahead and get one done from my spouse ? My spouse mentioned they need a letter stating that what do you need the certificate for

Any suggestion or advice will be greatly appreciated

any advice on my above query?

  11. yeah, the thing is - our lawyer advised us not to call them at all. She said if there's several persons inquiring about our case they're gonna flag our case or something, so we're pretty dependent on her and totally in the dark sad.png

Yeah, I don't think that matters. I have called for 3 weeks and most likely got a different person on the other line. Until they have the case in the system, they will not even ask you questions. When you call and if the case is not in the system, they will simply tell you the case came in blah date and wait 20 business days. They do not ask who is it calling.

Once the case is in the system, before giving any information they will ask name of the beneficiary DOB and petitioner name of Birth. Since I got it only yesterday, they did not even ask who are you? lawyer, beneficiary or petitioner.

Again that is my personal experience, other people can share their experiences and if they feel any different.

    Good Luck!

  12. My husband and I are working with an immigration lawyer and she is basically handling all the paper work and paying the bills etc. We got our NOA2 on Dec 24th and are obviously anxious to get our numbers. We checked with her a couple of days back and apparently, instead of calling NVC she sent an email to request our number, which she says, is a lot faster than calling them. To me that sounds a little off, since everyone here just keeps calling them every day. Should we tell her to call NVC or does anyone here know that emails are regularly responded to? I just don't wanna delay our process unnecessarily…

Well I basically called them everyday if not every other day week after NOA2 was approved (Dec 26th). Every time I called NVC, they mentioned they received it in the building on Jan 8th 2014, and it will take 20 business days to enter in the system. Finally this friday, when I called I was told they have it in the system and assigned a case number. Calling NVC, means a 30 mins wait.

  14. May filer and received the NOA2 dec 26th. Today my husband got the NOA2 hard copy, it says that "The NVC will contact the person for whom you are petitioning (beneficiary) concerning further immigrant visa processing steps"

Does this mean I should receive something from NVC?

We have not entered any email information on USCIS or NVC, how can I still do that and receive updates from NVC now?

  15. I also have one of those questions. My husband is the petitioner and when he was leaving I gave him my original birth certificate and our original marriage certificate. So the Agent who has to submit that will it be me or my husband? Should I get it shipped or can he submit that from over there?

Well it depends who you have chosen as agent on your DS 3032 form or email.

The question is do the agent send original birth certificates for both or notarized copies. I know the marriage certificates should be original.

And if the agent does send notarized birth certificate copies, do I as the beneficiary living abroad need his original for my interview at the consulate? :)

Samreen btw I am also from karachi....are you also a May filer? did you get your I130 approval?

  16. Hello All,

I have been following this forum for a while and thanks for everyone for all the information and updates. This has been really helpful. I have not participated but have been updating the spreadsheet for May filers. I am on the same boat, filed in May got transferred Dec 17th to local office (CSC) and got approval notice on Dec 26th.

I have been trying to do find out on my own and through forums and different sites but getting a little confused as far as the next steps are concerned.

Now I have a few questions and would be grateful if someone can clear them for me.

I understand now after NOA2 approval, our case will be forwarded to NVC.

Do we need to do anything right now or just wait for next steps from NVC?

How and when will we find out about the case has been forwarded to NVC and a case number is assigned? can we check that somehow

DS-3032 form for choice of Agent, is that something I can do now (online) or wait to receive something here abroad from NVC?

What is expected wait time to receive DS-3032 to me and for my husband to get AOS fee bill request after the NOA2 approval?

My husband will be the "agent" , so once I choose him he will be getting all the packets?

DS-230, who will receive that form me or my husband ? and is that what IV instruction package will contain once the IV Application bill is paid?

What documents will be needed with I-864 and DS-230?

Birth certificates ----- does my husband need my original? he has a stamped copy?)

Police certificate --- can I get that now? or do I need to show my area police station something as a request from NVC? is that document request part of IV packet?

Does my husband (petitioner) leaving in US needs a police report?

If any original documents need to submitted before my interview apart ?

I know its kinda a long list of questions but one liners will suffice

    Thanks again
