  1. I definitely agree to follow the official instruction. I just wanted to share what I've experience as I have seeing some posts here on vj saying they weren't ask for an NBI without maiden name as AKA and its true that they might not ask for it but its better to be prepared and go by the rules to

    avoid delays.

Answer based on the embassy instructions letter (ALWAYS follow the embassy instructions letter) :

    6. NBI CLEARANCE. Applicants aged 16 years and older must have a valid Record Clearance for

Travel Abroad Purposes from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Clearances should be in

the applicants current name, birth certificate name, maiden name and any aliases or nicknames used,

including different spellings you have used of those names. An official letter of explanation from

the NBI is required for any notation of No criminal record or "No pending case. For

immigration purposes, an NBI clearance is valid for one (1) year from the date it was issued. The

    NBI web site is

  2. Well from my experience from my interview, it depens on the Consul! I met another lady there for CR-1 and using her maiden name on the passport (exact same situation as mine) we started and finish the whole procedure the same time. The filipino consul did asked for my NBI with maiden name in the AKA she didn't like the one I sent NVC, thankfully I was prepared and I had a back up NBI clearance with my maiden name written on AKA part, and took ny CEMAR she asked for my old passport too, meanwhile the other lady with same exact scenario got a different filipino consul and didn't ask anything from her she wasnt ask for an nbi with her maiden name, they didn't take her old passport and not even ask for Cemar..So the answer it all depends on the CO. There are strict and more linient ones. This is just base on my experience. Hope its helpful for those who are confused about it :)

  3. If she did her medical in St.Luke's Manila she is talking about Varicella vaccine, They didn'tgive mine too cause it wasn't available they told me

to call after 4 weeks to find out if the Varicella vaccine is gonna be available but honestly speaking I don't think it will be even available cause I asked my private doctor and she said its not available in the whole country since the start of 2014..Anyway it won't affect her interview cause US embassy was informed and she can the the vaccine when she get to the US. That's what they told me at St. Luke's

    http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/schedules/downloads/adult/adult-schedule.pdf

She's 27 so based on that website she would have to get vaccines for measles, tetanus and vericella. Not sure why she only got 2.

  4. BUSINESS days ... and don't forget there was a holiday in the mix too

Thank you, We called back cause the last agent gave us an incorrect info :/ So it's 30 business days to review and they will notify us wether we get a case complete or checklist within a week after they review. I thought it will be 60 days to wait for review and case complete lol made me nervous and confused.

  5. For NBI clearance, won't they ask additional document if you have AKA? I also have my NBI in my married name. 3 surnames are there, my maiden middle name, my maiden surname and my husband's surname so I think AKA is not needed because the maiden name is there also..

Yea they are shown there but the instructions I got from the e-mail wasn't clear enough for me, I don't want to take chances and I don't want delays cause its been 14months since we started this process. They told me they will need a request from the embassy so they can put the AKA but in my case I was able to get one with the AKA. It might not be nessary you are right but just to be sure.
