  1. As the previous poster mentioned first you have to check if your country is one of those that have a 2 year home residency requirement. If you are clear from that requirement you may file AOS. All the forms you listed are required:

    1. I-485 Application to register permanent resident or AOS )

    2. I-765 Application for Employment Authorization ( optional )

    3. I-131 Application for Travel documents ( optional )

    4. I-864 Affidavit of Support

    5. I-693 Medical Examination of Aliens

    6. I-130 Petition for Alien relative

    7. G-325A Biographic Information

    Good luck :)

  2. You seem to be well prepared. Our interview today (Chicago office) was a breeze. The young lady was very nice. We had a bit of a wait (she explained that she was running late), but the actual interview was 10 min tops. She asked to verify the information we submitted (proof of US citizenship, beneficiary's birth certificate, marriage certificate and of course beneficiary's current passport). She asked the US citizen if he is still employed by the same company (no need for new letter nor I-864). The she asked some of those yes/no questions from the I-485 form. She asked if we have anything in joint names and we sort of asked her what would she like to see. She said whatever we think is appropriate. Gave her copy of bank letter, health insurance and car insurance (we had much more, but she said that is plenty). We also gave her a few pictures for the file. She said she is approving us today and the card should be arriving within two weeks. She did stamp the passport (just in case). She took back the EAD and the AP. Overall an easy experience, as long as you have a true relationship. Relax and take one question at the time (make sure that you are providing them with the documents they are asking for, anything extra is bonus).

Good luck. I will keep you in my prayers. :)

  3. Your vaccination supplement should be signed (and stamped) by the doctor and placed in a sealed envelope. If all vaccination requirements are met, then the third box will be checked (all requirements met). If for some reason the applicant has not received all the vaccines because it is medically inappropriate (the reasons are listed on your form: not age appropriate, insufficient time interval (between two vaccines); not (flu) season) the applicant's form will have the first box checked (eligible under for blanket waiver). You should not have any problems if you have either one of the two checked.

  4. If he accepts employment before his EAD arrives he is technically breaking the law.

Besides, just because his prospective employers say they will not deduct taxes, it does not mean that at the end of the year they will not report to IRS the money they paid him. In that case your cousin will still be responsible for paying taxes, social security, and other required deductions.

  5. I may be wrong, but it is my understanding that TB test is only valid for 6 months, so if you need a new medical you must redo a TB test (they can't just copy the results from the last one). If you have medical insurance you may be able to have your own doctor do the test and result readings (some surgeons charge additional money for TB test - whether it be skin or X-ray). Then you can take the copy of those findings to the designated surgeon. I think that you may be able to do the same with the blood work, but in that case your exam needs to be scheduled within 14 days from the (blood) test date.

Procedures vary from office to office so I would verify this information with the doctor's office you are planning to attend. Also, since fees vary from office to office I would call and compare prices/services.

    Good luck!
