Hey Everyone!

I am happy beyond words because by the grace of Allah my husband's AP has finally come to an end!! He was in AP for 2 YEARS AND 5 MONTHS!! Status turned into issued on May 22 right after he went for his fingerprints and oath on May 21! Me and including many others here know exactly how frustrating it is for everyone to be in this process especially when you are not being provided with answers. We were very patient and prayed, prayed and prayed. We have been married for 5 years and have a 3 year old son, so especially for people here with kids I pray that Allah ends this rough journey because I knew how hard it was to raise the child alone. I don't have a timeline but if anyone has any questions that I can help with I would be more then happy to answer them. I would like to say a special thanks to carolynnstuff for being really supportive with all my inquiries. Thank you visa journey, you have helped me a lot especially when I had to vent and once again I would like to make a special dua for all you that have been stuck in this process and that you all get issued a visa soon inshAllah!

Hi muni me! Thanks for replying. I appreciate the information. I'll reach out to my senator's office again and then on to congress. I've worked with the senator's office in the past so they already have all the case information so should be easy to go through them. See, that's what I don't get. What confusion could they possibly have had that an inquiry from the congresswoman was warranted? It seems their confusion is all over the place and not just limited to one or two cases.

Hi AaliPDX786! It totally is strange bruv! I know you mentioned how your passport got returned in ten days. I have a few friends whom I asked as well and they all had the same experience of passport being returned in under two weeks. It's just a draw of luck I guess. When my fiance sent them an email, she did include her mobile number, which is a Pakistani mobile number. She contacted AMEX as well by calling them and asking them if they were aware of anything or if they could tell her of maybe perhaps a better or different way to approach getting her passport back. All the AMEX guy stated was that lately they have seen that the embassy processing has become really slow. He mentioned that in terms of volume he has really seen it tank and that the embassy seems to be really crawling these days. I'll be reaching out to my senator and go that route as stated above. AOA Bro...this monday you write them an email early 8 AM...and keep checking ceac website if updated or not ? if not then send them an email on Tuesday as well and then stop writing them... you will get an update on ceac website as well as can expect a call from AMEX...that's what I did and hope it wud work for you as well iA...special prayers for you and your family bro...

So, it's been approximately a month since I first requested my fiance's passport back from the embassy for travel purposes. I have since then sent them two emails from me, and my fiance has sent them an email once. The embassy has not replied to any of our requests or emails. CEAC hasn't been updated either. Fiance called American Express and nothing, She called the embassy and no answer. I emailed my senator's office and have not heard from them. They might be just as frustrated with my case. They did send an inquiry about my AP back in October of last year and got the standard embassy response. I've decided to instead go and stay in Pakistan for 3 months (load shedding here I come) and work from there. It will give me ample time to spend with my fiance and I shall also bring my immediate family to come see me. It's not what I wanted, it's not ideal (I've never in my life stayed longer than 3 weeks in Pakistan at a time) but my need and want of seeing my fiance outweighs all other concerns at this stage.

I am still trying to hold out that maybe the embassy can return the passport before the end of the month and we can meet in Dubai instead.The question I have is, what on earth are my options in terms of getting my fiance's passport back? If anyone has any idea on a course of action that will lead me to something conclusive in terms of getting back my fiance's passport I am all ears. Thank you!

That's really strange brother...I requested again my passport for dubai's travel after I had wrote to you hre on VJ and they sent my passport after 10 days to AMEX...but this time I wrote them mail twice and both times they updated the status as well but passport came to me in 10 days and I traveled to Dubai and again back to Paikstan...Now my passport is back with Embassy but how surprising this is that they did not send your passport and still pending ...

write them email again and mention paikstan mobile number on which your family is available to attend the AMEX call...God Almighty bless you...iA you will get it

Hi it's been extremely hectic this week!! But Allahamadullilah I got the visa in hand today finally.. @Sarahch, @Ayeshashehzad and Mrs Sarfaraz I truely believe you guys will get urs soon IA.. when submitting the Medicals my wife and I found out that our marriage certificate is been lost n it was bcz of NVC, I went alone to the window n greeted CO.. Interview went great n just bcz if you are confident n well presented then you don't need to worry.. CO said everything is fine just send another original and you will get the visa in a month but it took three weeks..

Ceac shows issued for two days n got the call today..

My opinion is that keep forcing NVC to update you bcz they know everything wats happening in ur case.. Like its NVC who confirms the docs receipt n it's them who told my wife that ur case is in final processing.. I never used visa journey before interview but Visa journey is awesome but for the ones whose interviews are coming up or when you talk to them just be confident and stay positive and take even the unnecessary things to interview incase!!

the fingerprint was schedule for 20 april 2015 but chinese president money was more inportant than ours. i had to extend my stay for 3 days just to get the fingerprints done. on 22 april 2015 the embassy was opened and even though the date was not reschedule me and my wife still went to embassy the shuttle person kept asking is your appointment date today but me and my wife kept saying we just a call from embassy to come. he gave the ticket. my wife went to consulate and i was waiting in waiting area where the shuttle starts. i was afraid at consulate they will tell her that we will give you the appointment but wife told them that we came from karachi and its just for fingerprints. consulate took 5 hrs for fingerprints after that they told my wife you will get visa in 4 to 6 days.

today it was relaxed on ceac website it says ISSUED finally thanks to ALLAH

They called me on 11 march to submit new medical two pics n ds 260. I told the operater that we have already filed ds260 n then he checked n said yes so u only need to send pics n medical. Then on we got appointment madical on 14 match n got medical back on 21 march n then send the medical on 25 march. On 31 march my husband emails embassy for update they replied within a few hours saying that ur case is in final processing n feel free to contact us in seven to ten days. Then on 2nd April it got issued we got call from AMEX on 4 April n picked visa packet on 6 April

an update on ceac website within these days will ensure ur receipt of docs within the embassy where as you may call NVC to get more info about ur docs receipt or may email the embassy to confirm the same.

my wife second medical was sent to embassy on 24 march and embassy received it on 27 mrch. today 2 april my receied a call from embassy it was a guy asked my wife name and told her he is calling from US embassy and she needs to appear at embassy on 20 april 2015 at 10AM. the guy told her to bring cnic and my wife asked them that they received the medical or not the guy said yes. now my question is the guy never said he is calling her for oath and fingerprints he jut told her to appear at embassy. now is this is for oath and fingerprints call or second interview??? please help me out i am confused

Been a while. Quick question, I tried looking and wasn't able to find a concrete answer but generally how long does it take for the embassy to return the passport? Me and my fiance decided that we're simply done with the wait and are going to Dubai. I was born there and have my immediate family there and she has family there as well so it will be a breeze plus i'll be able to work from there (IT FTW). So, I requested her passport back on Friday. It's Wednesday and I haven't heard a peep from the embassy. We know all the negatives surrounding requesting the passport back and thought about this long and heavy but it is something we are moving forward with. So, If anyone has done so and might be able to provide me with a timeline, I'd appreciate it. All the best to all in AP and congratulations to all the ones I missed congratulating. I've been MIA lately. Work is something else these days. Plus let's not forget the MAUKA MAUKA back and forth that went on during the cricket world cup.

On a lighter note I also liken MAUKA MAUKA to AP. It fits! Cheers to all! Stay strong!

They returned me the passport for Dubai travel as well in 5 working days but they did not call me or sent me any emailed intimation for the same...I just received a call from AMEX to come and collect the passport...

From previous posts I have seen that it doesn't make much difference. I don't think they allow the spouse in the interview room. Is your wife a US Citizen? They may not allow her to enter the embassy if she is not. Someone will correct me if I am wrong.

right now it doesnt feel like at all that embassy is working fast at all, I feel like i am stuck in some dark hole and cant see no light at the end of the tunnel.

I do feel the same way that I am stuck in a dark hole of AP and seems to be never ending...we dont need updates instead we need visas to be with our loved ones...its totally a cruelty and nothing else than that...visas never take such longer time...1, 2 or 3 months are enough but years...beyond understanding...

Just pray Allah bless all and bring us all out of AP very soon

This year is very strange and slow than previous years...Last year March was very fast and full of hustle and bustle and we were listening news of updates and visa issuance but this year is quite slow and lazy...dunno whats the reason why Embassy is not working as faster as last year or have not gotten approval from USA for huge lot of visas...

VJ has got me through these past few rough months and thanx to everyone's support and guidance, my head is still sane. I will just give them what they asked for and see what they do. My husband agreed to sending the papers from there, I convinced him by saying I did all the work, I just need u to drop it off now and he thought about it for a second and said ok.

They asked for more pics only but I took more than what they asked and they were so amazed to see all that and I myself feel that on window both CO & Applicant are not convenient and interview in a room is more better to present all details with ease. At 2nd I felt like they are gonna issue visa right now coz of the way they treated me so well with lot of respect and cool charming behavior but unfortunately 18 Months passed after 2nd...and my wife came to Paki after 2 months when we saw them careless about us and spent 11 months together...she left 3 months ago and now again coming back to Paki after meeting her family...

Have more patience and you will win...But always eat chocolotes when u r tensed and recite...Long Live VJ 3 times...LOL

I have told him many times, I spent the whole morning saying that this is just a temporary thing, we wont deal with AP forever, the long term results will be the reward, to embassy we are just another case, they dont care, we just have to give them what they ask for, seriously i think, these are all excuses to delay visa, and to test the couple out and their patience level. I know I am emotionally exhuasted but I still have the will to fight, I was actually planning a trip next month to pakistan, to see hubby cuz i missed him so much and now I stuck with this. dont know what to do after i submit these documents. wait or go visit.

Sis Sarah you story seems to be our story...I was so frustrated at that moment when they called me for 2nd and demanded so many other docs and proofs and I refused and spent 1 week in a bad mood and started hating this visa process...my wife also spent 1 week to make me realize the importance of the matter and at all I did it...your hubby will do it just give him some time to sit back and understand and realize all this...dont tell him I told u all this ...LOL

plz ali brother, dont scare me, I am already holding on to hope that after this, they will issue the visa. did they take u in another room to interview u in your second interview? were they rude or just normal?

Plz send docs to ur hubby and let him send thru AMEX...AMEX is the only reliable source for docs to the Embassy...I have done such mistake of sending docs direct to Embassy and result was bad but when used AMEX they acknowledged the receipt both by AMEX & US Embassy in 2 days...save your time and be more hopeful & satisfied by using AMEX...

About my interview...1st was on window & 2nd was in a Room and they watched me all day inside the Embassy from 8 am till 5:30 PM and I was alone in Embassy that time when they called me in...LOL

Btw...we have gone thru the same like u r facing now...they asked each and every thing from me & called me for second interview...I submitted Western Union receipts, Air Tickets, 25 pages of my wife's passport having in/exit stamps, Her dubai and Paki visas showing my name as husband, 100s of pics together, Original receipt of Damas Jeweller Dubai where we bought our wedding rings from etc etc...but still after that second interview we have completed 18 months in AP...my 2nd was fantastic interview I guess that's why I am in AP... LOL

march 9 (senator inquiry reply) march 16 and 17 (automatic) , i dont get my hope up anymore like i use too, and dont know what their doing at this point in my case, their going to ask for a new medical before they do anything.
