The standard procedure for my wife was similar to what has been described. I will share my dates and some important tips.

Interview Date: 12/30 (approved, requested to pickup passport in Islamabad)

I have noticed a difference of at least a few days between Islamabad courier and other pk locations.

Status on Ceac changed to admin, while wife was at embassy. Status changed to Issued to next day and evening of same day courier service called that package is ready for pickup.

I found out on 12/30, that courier center will be open on 01/01/2015. The flight was booked for 01/02/2015 early morning.

Package picked up 01/01/2015 and flight later that night into JFK. I used Qatar Airways, I recommend this airline for JFK because it goes to Terminal 8, which is different than most other airlines which go to terminal 4 and considerably sped up the process.

My wife was out roughly within an hour of plane landing.

Agent asked for fingerprints, where is she going, and took a picture. And returned the originals which were in those documents.

I think it is helpful if you have time send a package with all necessary copies and pictures to your spouse in pk. Obtain a digital photgraph form pk spouse, and then used the US embassy website to crop it to 2x2 and then use this website http://www. epassportphoto.com/95/Free/United%20States/Passport/step1 to make 4 pictures at a time. You can print it at any local store (walmart, cvs) and this will give you more than enough copies and it will cost less than a dollar.

If flying in town, and you have Chase ultimate rewards points, you can stay in Marriott for 10,000 points/night, which is excellent deal for those points.

Alhamdulillah by grace of Allah, Visa Interview 12/30, approved, CEAC changed from A/P to Issued in one day, also got the call from courier center after one day.

Scheduled to pick up Islamabad, I noticed if you select Islamabad, passport return time is faster.

I tried multiple times to get an earlier date, they sent an email saying they don't give an earlie date.

My prayers for everyone waiting, one key principle in this journey, do your best, but place complete trust in your Raab who is incharge over everything.

Has the courier service called you to pick up the passport? Do you think it is possible to ask them to issue he visa the same day, while you are in the embassy?

Is it reasonable to ask the embassy to issue the visa the day of the interview if possible?

Dwheels, my wife's interview is Dec 30th, and her medical was done Nov 20th, is that too much a gap? Does she need a new medical?

I agree with dweels, that is a very specific email written by someone who knows your circumstances.

I think you are in a very tough situation given the other details of your case. For example, I think they will not easily let go the 15 yr age gap between you and your spouse. Especially, when it is an extremely rare occasion in Pk for anyone to marry a female older than them.

My processing site on NVC page changed from NVC to Islamabad (embassy), but I didn't notice in transit or any other status. And this morning when I called, the representative said file hadn't been shipped to embassy yet. What could this mean? Thank you

Here is a way to make calling NVC simple and easy.

1st. If you want to minimizewait time, call exactly at 7:00 am (not 7:01) Easten Standard Time, did this twice and had zero wait time.

2nd. For android users, download the app called Auto Redial, see link below. The most important part is the settings.

On the main screen set auto end call after to 9 seconds and the auto redial after to 1 seconds.

Click the + sign in upper right hand corner and click settings. Under settings select speaker on, and under advance click enable keep talking button

Phone number is NVC 603 number.

Now click the green button to dial, it will keep redialing through busy signals on its own, once it connect, double tap the Talk bubble on your screen to stop the redialing and then press 1 and wait for operator. (While phone is dialing it, I usually schedule other tasks, example eating, reading etc)

Very simple and effective.

Last scan date: AOS August 14th, IV Package: Sept 19th

Got a checklist on 10/21 to submit wife's original documents (birt certificate, marriage certificate) instead of copies (they were certified copies)

Instead of getting the original documents from overseas, I called multiple times until I spoke to a superviser. He asked some time to review the file.

It took about 1 week for him to receive the file.

And today it was reviewed by the same superviser and case completed. AOS status changed to N/A within 10 minutes of superviser confirming case complete.

All praise is to the one most High, CASE COMPLETE!!!

When is the best time to call the NVC - any numbers on that? Just got off a 75 min hold - and got hung up on when they answered...

I thought it can be either w2s or transcripts. Nvc wiki states that as well. Did you get a checklist for just submitting w2s?

Hi there! Got a CC today

Hubby didn't't send the tax transcripts...he thought w2 was enought. Anyways..good thing is our last package scanned was also reviewed (IV package on Sep 16) and we're fine with that. So hopefully the 60 days thing will be just a matter of safety, but we can tell they're slowly working with a 30 days scanned to review..prayers for that!

Nvc just worked on September one day I think

CASE COMPLETE!!! Scan date Aug 14th. We are dooone with NVC!!!

How do we find out if a package (e.g. AOS) has been accepted?

IV fee invoice and paid.

There seems to be a trend here. I think the only reasson IV invoices were delayed past 2 months was for price hike :/

I sent the IV package and forgot to make copies of the originals and didn't include any copies in the package just the originals. Is this gna be a checklist? Has anyone gotten check listed for this before?

I have a similiar question. Is it possible to send two certfied copies of each document or does it have to be a certified copy and a Photocopy?

So how exactly do I do this? How do I tell NVC that I've gotten a lawyer after USCIS shipped my case? I'm very interested. My case is still at Nebraska since Dec 2013. Thanks!

Your lawyer will submit form g28 to nvc.

Wait for NOA2, once received, call nvc as per nvc wiki until they receive it, in the mean time do you research on an attorney, and once he/she become your case representative, and both AOS and IV invoices are available, pay both print and save receipts. And proceed with rest of process.
