  1. I just got approved by USCIS. I am trying to understand the process from this point forward. I see the NVC flow chart, but it says for CR1/IR1. Is it the same for K1 visas?

Mine will be a K1. Can someone kindly give me an idea of how to learn what to do and what to expect until my fiancee gets her packets from Embassy in Manila?

    Thanks so much.

Hi we can help you at

  2. Hi! Just right in time I catch your vj post, I just finished editing my mom’s timeline and I think you will like to look at it. I am from the Philippines, my mom is till here waiting for her packet for medical & interview sched. Me & my sister is hoping that she could have march 2007 interview at the US Embassy.

worst w/CR or IR, F visa is that if you get an RFE you always have to wait for the NVC to send you back a barcoded sheet before you can send them the missing or requested documents.

    My Mom's Timeline

PETITION FOR ALIEN RELATIVES (I-130) Parent of US citizen

    California Service Center (IR5) visa

Jan 28, 2006-My sister file I-130 to CSC

    Feb 22-NOA 1

May 31-NOA 2 (CASE HAS BEEN APPROVED)

June 8-sister got NVC letter with my mom's assigned case number MNL2006664***

July 18-Received letter from NVC w/form for my mom to sign for her CHOICE OF AGENT

July 30-RFE (incorrect choice of agent) my sister fixed it anyway by calling NVC

I was incorrect, I put my mom’s name instead of my sister’s name as choice of agent

Aug 7-My sister received the I-864A (Affidavit of Support) signed & paid $70 & sent back the papers to NVC in New Hampshire

Aug 01-sister paid visa application fee of $380 to NVC (as she was my mom choice of agent)

Aug 19-Checklist of Missing Documents DS230 was not received by NVC yet

Oct 19-NVC requested mom documents to be submitted

Nov 10-Send all required documents to NVC.

Nov 21- RFE again (lack of documents) NBI Clearance from PI

2nd RFE now my sister is mad at me, I just send mom’s police clearance. It should be NBI

Dec 12-at AM Received the Barcoded Sheet from NVC for the missing document

Dec 12-at PM Send the missing document right away, NBI clearance to NVC via DHL

Current Status-waiting for the case to be completed

    PACKET IV-waiting

    INTERVIEW-waiting

I hope somebody can answer my query. Thank You

  4. They say on the list of requirements for the interview that they need proof of payment for the visas at the bank.

What does the bank give out as proof? Is it just a receipt?

    Thanks

Sorry to dig this up but just like to answer this for future reference and for the sake of others who are on the process.

well aside from the receipt. Your DS157 will be validated. The form that you got from you packet or they will give you a machine validated DS157, you fill it up and you will submit it during your embassy interview together with the (2 copies) of DS156, (1 copy) of 156k and (2 copies, 1 is the validated from the bank) of DS157.

  6. Well, finally logged in and created an account. I have found a great deal of the information useful here but I have just learned something that may jeopardize my entire case: Apparently the new legislation in the Philippines requires that the father's consent to get the K2 visa for my fiancee's' child. Now, here's the catch: the father's consent is required even though they were never married. I may have to move to the Philippines.......serioulsly.

oh what if I couldn't find him anymore, what if He doesnt feel to cooperate?

so it means He holds the future of me and my child?

Everything was under His control? GREAT....

afterall..... he wasn't suporting you & your child but still everything was in His hands.

  7. anybody knows how will uscis/nvc or embassy send packets to our spouse, i mean do they send it thru regular post office, UPS, Fed-Ex, DHL etc...

    is it a registered mail.?

any chance it might get lost?

i grew up in the philippines and i believe our mailing system is not that good.

also everytime i send letters from the states to the philippines, most of them got lost.

    thank you.

    Good luck to us.

    God Bless.

They will NEVER send it on a regular mail. I got mine via DHL!

Thanks to the politicians.

I dont think so. I haven't heard about this. what I know there is no hassle bringing a K2 to the USA especially if the child was born out of wedlock and carries her/his mother surname.

  9. Jeffk,

For some reason, only California and Vermont process K-1 petitions now. All petitions are transferred now. Yet, they still require one to file to Texas and Nebraska initially. Well, these are our tax dollars hard at work....Hopefully, they will fix that soon. No worries for you.

Is that mean that instead of sending our K1 petition to Nebraska Service Center, just send ours on Vermont or California? My petitioner is from Colorado.

if your from colorado i think colorado is vermont service center jurisdiction. it should go to VSC

  10. I am more than thankful that I've already found the man I will goin to spend the rest of my life with.. We are totally two different people who wanted to become one physically and legally soon. Without us knowing that processing K-1 visa is real confusing and tiring.

We have lots of question and we really do pray that reliable people from here will help us. We wanted to work with this carefully and pray that we will not mess up. And thank you soo much in advance. My queries are:

    1. About the downloadble forms online. They have indicated there that its only valid until Dec 31, 2006. Since the year is almost ending, do we have to wait until 2007 to have it filled and submitted? If so, would they release an updated forms early January? Right now, what we are doing is filling-up forms and gathering needed documents.

    2. In I-129F question No. 14 Part B, (my fiance is an US Army) knowing that US military can be station in different places and he (my fiance) told me that he really dunno where and when he will move to another place to be stationed.. Whats the best thing to put on that field?

    2. Is my fiance goin to enclosed the payment with the K-1 application to send at Nebraska Service Center? He is from Colorado, by the way.

  11. Hi Everybody, I am on a K1 visa and my interview is really very soon. I have all the documents I needed for the upcoming interview from my fiancée however from the Affidavit of Support I noticed that the questions 8, 9 10 He didn’t state it NONE instead He just skipped it. But yes it was signed by him & it was notatized.

8.) That the following person are dependent upon me for support: (Place an “x” in the appropriate column to indicate whether the person named is wholly or partially dependent upon you for support.

9.) That I have previously submitted affidavit(s) of support for the following person(s). If none, state none

    He didn’t put NONE

10.) That I have submitted a visa petition(s) to U.S citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) on behalf of the following person(s). If none, state none.

    He didnt put NONE

    any input would be appreciated.

thanks in advance & merry christmas

  12. She will not get a tourist VISA. You need to do a K-1 or K-3. If you can't afford to go there at least once, you won't be able to afford the whole process.

    Absolutely!

I am in the initial stages of getting a girlfriend to the US. We met on line and she and I want to proceed. I have read a lot of info on the net, but I am confused by all the information. It seems that the K-1 visa is the Fiancée Visa. But I did read that the fastest way is to for my Fiancée to apply for a tourist visa and then apply for a change of status. I could go there to meet her as required, but the expense and time away from my job to go to the Philippines would make things tougher than necessary. Besides, if she came to the US, we could spend more time together to see if how things may work out. But I also read that if the intention is to come to the US on a tourist visa, with the intent to marry, the visa will be denied.

I hope someone can help me with this confusing process.

    Thanks

    Harris

You have to send or mail that to her, her signature is very impt on the Part I the biographic data. Was the DS-230 also includes supporting documents that she need to submit together with the DS-230?

and most questions there i think its only your mom who can answers or can collect informations.
