  1. Thanks for the input... Has anyone had any experiences in Manila?

I had mine in manila. I think 2 months in advance without any medical & interview date yet. I took the seminar in PRISM somewhere in taft avenue.

Passport CFO stamp after I had the visa at Quirino Ave., South superhighway, Manila.

Never had any bad experience maybe b'cuz me and my fiance are both single and with a 13 yrs age gap only.

Just remember to bring your fiancee divorce paper, if divorce.

If his divorce 3 or 4 times bring all the the divorce papers.

If only 22 or 23 years old and below bring your parental consent letter.

I was asked for a picture of me and my fiancee, unfortunately

I didn't have any so i told them i don't have it with me.

Bring few so that you have something to show just incase and so to satisfy them.

  2. Im been more optimistic that it will be early Jan than late December, I doubt it will be one month only waiting time from NOA2 to Interview date. There is still the medical exam.

exactly that would really be impossible. in my case before my NOA 2 approval was dated August 9, 2006. The medical and Interview came up in October 2006 that My USEM interview would be Jan 8, 2007

  3. i think they're rude if they knew that your man had previous divorce. I never had such problem during my time although i think it took me 45 minutes before my name was called at the CFO (this is in Quirino south super highway) in manila.

  4. Has anyone gone past the 90 day period without any results ie. no check cashed? I'm on day 71 without a check cashed (I sent recorded and it did arrive at their center).

    What answers did you get?

The reason i'm concerned is that i spoke with an officer a few weeks ago and he claimed their rules regarding the NOA1 are suspended. They will NOT investigate after 90 days. You are STILL accountable for the application even if they process it 5 months later...ie he told me "dont you dare cancel your check after 90 days because you'll owe the US gov even if they they find it well down the line" ...........and most importantly he told me if the 90 days is up I'm tough out of luck. My only choice is to send another application ie. get back in the December line and risk that they'll cash both checks if they ever find my old application. There is no cut off like there used to be. (ie. wait 4 weeks then wait for a 30day investigation then your safe to reapply)

Thats odd! Usually this could be possible waiting for 90 days without update for NOA2 but not for NOA1

NOA1 normally can be granted after just a week, or less than a month and maximum of (1)month if you dont have RFE's.

  5. Has anyone here overstayed in the US but decided to go back to their country and filed for K1 visa and got approved.

Please let me know. I want some hope.

continuation.. We had filed for extention..

I think I have read your post from another forum. Your worries seems that you know what could be the possible outcome.

A sister of someone I knew overstayed in the U.S few years ago with a tourist visa then she went back to the Philippines voluntarily. After a year she met someone who marry and petitioned her as K3 since they got married in PI. Unfortunately during her interview last Dec 2006 she had been denied and give her back all her documents.

  6. So does this mean that even if you have a Medical Appointment, say, on December 19, 2007 and an Interview Schedule on Jan. 3, 2008, you can have a medical exam earlier than December 19? Say for example Dec. 12?

Yes  a lot of applicants did that... But I didn't do it cuz I'm too far from Manila.

    Hello Shai,

As I am looking at your post I noticed you have your CFO Seminar before your interview, how did you have it?because what i know CFO needs our Visa as a requirrement.please tell me how because i want to have my CFO before my interview too.thanks!

Yes! you can attend the CFO seminar in advance without the visa yet but they won't put the CFO stamp or sticker on your passport yet since you don't have the visa but only the Guidance and Counseling Certificate.

So you will need to go back again at the CFO office after you got your visa for the final sticker. Advantage of attending the CFO with visa already is that you don't have to go back again because after the seminar they will give instruction on where to get your passport stamp.

If you live in manila you can have it in advance without the visa yet and just go back after the passport w/visa is on hand, but if you don't, for me this is not advisable.

Others who lives in the provinces take the advance seminar after they had their medical.

For more info about the CFO visit their website at

Yes, the earlier the better. I had mine 3 weeks in advanced.

  8. Hi to all,

An inquiry about medical schedule: My appointment at St. luke will be on Dec.27 but then, I am planning to have it on Dec.4, even without my packet..Is this ok? are there any members who have tried this? what are the documents they might possibly ask from me?

Thank you so much for the continuous guidance guys!

God Bless to all of us! :)

yes you can. just have your schedule printed http://203.177.135.10/ivappointment/login.asp . call SLEC for packet pickup. also dont forget to bring a picture with you. 2x2 atleast 3 pcs. your payment of $145.(converted to peso) and your passport. you may also want to bring a copy of your NOA2. good luck :)

    Hello ryza,

You know the SLEC number to call for the packet pick-up? Thanks.

    James and Rachel

I think this is still their number at St. Lukes. i used to call this number. I had requested to just pick-up my packet instead but still it was delivered at home since the packet was on its way already.

dial (02) area code if your aint calling from manila

    and the number is 524-6083

  9. Hello guys,

So after worrying about my visa not released from the embassy yet, I finally called USEM today. The first time I called, the lady said my case is under review and i just have to wait. Then i decided to call again in the afternoon. The lady named Sophie told me that I have to do a SECOND FINGER SCAN. During the interview, I had to redo my finger scan like 4-5 times, even had to go and wash my hands. But now they tell me that I had to redo it and the rest of the documents are ok. What the hell??!?!? I'm just mad. So, I have to fly again to Manila on monday. I just hope that after this, they will release the visa right away.

Has anyone here on VJ experienced this before??? This is making me stressed out, hate it! To the rest of the November interviewees, I realized that most our visas are taking longer than usual to be issued. I wish and pray for our visas to be in our hands ASAP!

    DeeZee

Yes it happens. I have a friend who was placed on AR for almost a month, they thought she was approved right after the USEM interview. A week had passed and she didn't

recieved the visa and they finally realized that she was put on AR. A month and still no visa delivered and they dont know the reason why. So they asked help from the congressman from where her petitioner lives and after seeking help from the said congressman they got the reason why she was put on AR. Its because USEM said she had to repeat her finger scanning. What a stress to this couple because they keep on calling the USEM but they can't give answer to their query it takes a month for them to

informed the applicant that she need to go back to the USEM for the finger scanning and with the help of a congressman.

    It sucks bigtime.

  10. Can someone tell me if its possible to call and enquire at NVC if I don't have NOA2 in hand? What information do I need to talk with them?

I just got NOA2 email on Wed before I left for Thanksgiving and business trip. I will not be back home until Dec 1, but I would like to check with them before then to see if they receive anything.

Any clues or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

As what I know everytime you called NVC you always need to have your case number ready because they would never asked you for anything but your case number right after they accept your call.

  11. Hello VJrs,

We are now preparing for my budget for my Medical and K1Visa process.Anyone can tell me how much we will pay in delbros?thnx!

Yes, it varies on locations where the visa should be delivered. Think I paid P225 and I have it delivered where I live back then. (Dasmariñas, Cavite)

  12. :help::help: My finacee was denied her visa today. At her medical they asked about drug use and she said she took some kind of drug 4 years ago to get thu a rough time in her life and she was denied her visa because of it. Any thing I can do to fix this and get her to us? I have never felt so bad in my life, all my hopes and dreams are gone.

    Hi larry..

Im so sorry about this.. to tell you honestly I felt bad too when I saw this post. I will just want to share to you, what I’ve seen in the show “CITIZEN PINOY” by ATTY. MICHAEL GURFINKEL. There’s one Filipino-American whose working in the US for 10 years. He send an application for a petition of his wife. When his wife was interviewed in the USEmbassy, she admitted that she used drugs 10 years ago. At that moment, she was denied.

This Fil-AM Man, went to the show CITIZEN PINOY and personally asked Atty. Michael Gurfinkel about his case. Atty. Michael, said there’s no way to appeal since its Drug Issue.

Anyway, I don’t want you to feel more bad Larry.. Try to check some legal assistance regarding this matter.

I’m really sorry about this. :(

    P.S.

Thats exactly what i am saying since it is a Drug Issue and a country like Philippines.

Sorry to hear that but sometimes honesty won't make you any good. I just wished she never been that truthful.

I dont want to discourage you but if its really about drugs that would be hard to fix it anymore even though you tell them you have have using it 20 yrs ago.

I don't know why but thats the way it is especially in the Philippines.

  15. Hi Everyone,

I think I am almost ready to send off my petition. We are not sure of the dates for my fiancée employment history and work history. Also for several months she lived at several addresses and we don't know all of them now. How exact do we need to be on this? Will this be double checked in the Philippines? I've searched and searched but can't find the answers on here. My history in the USA is all pretty exact and not lacking any addresses, I'm just concerned about her addresses and previous jobs before the last one that lasted 2 years.

Thanks for any input! I can't wait to finally send this in, it seems like it's taken forever to get it all together!

    -jason

I doesnt need to be exactly as it is because that would really hard to remember but I would suggest that you make a copy of what she wrote in there esp for the G325a

since this forms will again be answered and submitted when she gets to the U.S for her AOS or Adjustment os Status.

I'm glad i just did spare a copy of all the forms that we had submitted back then so I don't need to re think again what answer i should put on it.

    Goodluck!
