  1. You need to call NVC to find out the "scan date". NVC will scan the AOS and IV at the same time but will not necessarily review them on the same day. Right now both IV and AOS are taking close to 30 business days.

Edit: Note it's currently taking 3-5 business days to scan packages after delivery.

Edit2: Also note if your attorney submitted packages via electronic processing (EP) then it's a different story altogether!

Thank you for your response!! My attorney sent in the mail and decided to bypass the EP.... He felt that there was too much wish wash with system yet and wanted to make sure we didn't get any delay in the system. I understand his thoughts, but after reading here it seems there have been no issues with EP!

  2. Hi all! Congrats on CCs! I am growing a little worried... It has been almost 3 weeks since my case # was generated and I still can't pay the Fees.. I have a lawyer so I don't have to fill out the DS-26. My lawyer called last Friday and they said you still have to wait, you will get the email but until then you can't do anything. I am wondering who is still waiting to be able to just even login after getting a case number and is it normal that it is taking this long?! Thanks all!

  3. I was wondering if one of you wonderful people can help ease my mind a little bit. I am at the NVC right now. Case was received on June 11th and Case # was generated on June 27th. I am still unable to go on the website and sign in. It has that saying that states "it's no longer available for processing, etc, etc" I am not worried about that saying after reading your posts... It just has said that for awhile now. My question is.. normally how long has it been taking everyone to receive the e-mail from NVC to be able to pay the fees and fill out the form online? Should I be expecting some time this week or should I already have gotten it? Thank you to all, and I wish everyone the best and most speedy luck :)

  4. Omgsh so much exciting news lately!! Congrats on all the new approvals!!!

Have you guys been approved by mail or is it showing up online as well? A lot of people have been telling me they get a notice in the mail way before it shows up online. Is that the case with you guys, too?

I was at TSC with a pd of Dec 10. I got my approval weds night a little after 8:30pm est. I got all the notifications; text and e-mail. I'm not sure what the heck they are doing over there but happy nontheless! I hope everyone before me gets their approvals soon! It's so ridiculous how out of sync they are! Good luck to everyone and now hopefully NVC steps up their game and I can be back with my loved one by October!

  5. I am Dec 10 at TSC... I don't know if I am more worried or just confused. It seems like there is movement happening at TSC which is awesome and congrats to all the new approvals! but what is concerning is that it seems that these new approvals are being sent in the mail and not getting e-mails or updates and the status online isn't changing. Is this the case for the new approvals from TSC? I am wondering if I should call and see if mine has been approved? There is literally no reason to their madness....

  6. Yea... I just got off the phone with H&R Block and the lady explained that you need to file as married and it is your choice to either file sep or jointly. The only info they will need is name, date of birth, and their social #... I am probably going to just suck up the $$ and get it done by a professional because there is no sense in trying to "figure it out" and dont want to mess it up with such a crucial year on our hands with everything.

  7. hey all, just wanted to send a little update! We recevied our NOA-1... Dec. 10. Texas Service Center. Hopefully things start to turn around because we can't live together until we have been approved! Good luck to everyone!

Also I have gone through a lawyer to help file everything and make sure nothing is missing. Hopefully this answers some questions for you all... My lawyer said that as long as you get married in a state that recognizes same sex marriage you will be fine. Federally as long as you received a bona fide marriage is one of those states that's all that matters for immigration purposes. Hope that helps!

  8. Hi guys! I am new to this forum. Just a little background about me and my partner. we are same sex NJ & Toronto. Spouse is currently living abroad and has never lived in the states, we met online. We started dating back in 2010 and got married in October of this year. We just filed our I-130 last week. Just wanted to put myself out there to relate to other people going through this as well and get advice as people seem to be further in the process. I know that there are some backlogs that are happening right now, hope that the process starts picking up for all of us cause I cant stand being without my love anymore!
