Depends what service center it goes to, anything from 3 to 33 months,  most likely around a year.

    Ok, thanks for the info.

Average 6-12 months before COVID.    Probably longer now.

After USCIS approves the I-130, it is sent to the NVC for the next set of applications and documents.  The transfer can take 2-3 months.

Interview 1-2 years after sending in the I-130 if everything is done correctly.

    Thank you.

Hi, Firstly I suggest you to file online, & you need to send separate petitions for both parents, Its quicker. and another benefit of filling online , You need not to worry about which document you should upload. After completing application online it gonna ask you which document you should upload according to your information provided. For example if your Mother had different maiden name then it gonna ask you to upload additional documents like Proof of Name change like court &  marriage certificate.

Everyone Situation is different but I tell you which documents I uploaded:

    Naturalization Certificate

    Parents Marriage Certificate

    My Birth Certificate

Mother name was different before marriage so i uploaded her Passport, marriage Certificate, National ID card ( Don't had proof of court Doc)

10th Grade school Certificate, because my birth certificate issued late so i need to upload additional doc to show that my date of birth was same.

Hope all the Information gonna help.

    Thanks alot

I used a lawyer and he said that it does really move that much slower as the applications are all scanned in not typed in as Shomer said and so the delay is only at the initial processing center anyway.  The local office doesnt know whether it is an online application or mailed in.  I have an IOE identifier just the same as the people who have filed online.  My lawyer just likes paper.  I mailed it on the 9th March and my biometrics are tomorrow April 4th and so this is around about the same timing as people who have filed online.  I think the speed is more dependent upon other things like the time it takes to get the background check back, some people can take 48 hours while others can take 90 days.  We can definitely monitor it here to see whether mine will be slower by filing vie mail than online, but it hasnt seem to be so far.  My estimated processing time is March 2019 and this is solely based on the fact that Las Vegas is only processing Feb 17 applications now, but I will update once I complete my biometrics and get any update.

Our case has been submitted completely today (5 June 2018).

My sister profile hasn't still got removed I just change her status from (ACCOMPANY) to (FOLLOW TO JOIN). After which I was able to submit civil documents.
It was simple mistake, I had I known before 6 days wouldn't have been wasted.

Thanks for the reply I hope they take 9 days to review our case also,as our priority date might get current in July Bulletin.

    PD: 3 April 2006

    Background:

So to start, we applied in January 2018, and got an interview on May 15th. We didn't get approved right away as we didn't have very much evidence at all besides the fact we've been together for a few years (no joint accounts for example we're young). We then shortly got the green card approved on May 22nd.

I am 23 and my wife is 24 (China). We both just graduated university with a bachelors and masters respectively this May.  She was on a F-1 Visa.

My mother is a joint sponsor as I had no or little income, and she makes 110k/yr.

We got very lucky with the processing of our applications. I am surprised myself how quickly the whole process was.

No lawyer used. We filed the I-130 and I-485 ourselves.

As we have known each other for 3 years, there was plenty of photo evidence. However we never really had any joint accounts as I figured it wasn't necessary at the moment. We lived together for 2 years.

Overall, it was a pretty stressful experience considering all the information on the applications and worrying if I forgot anything.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

What forms you sent in the initial stage?
