Everyone here who has recently received their card needs to make sure their dates on it are correct. There are a few (possibly a lot) coming out with the incorrect resident since date. It should be the date you entered on your CR-1 or got approved for AOS. My one has the date my ROC was approved and they gave the card a validity of 10 years + two weeks. If your dates are incorrect, you can file an I-90 online and submit a service request on your I-751 case for typographical error on your permanent residence card. Not sure how widespread this is.

I just checked and her resident since date does state the date of ROC instead of her AOS date which was on the original card. Also, I noticed it doesn't have her signature beneath her picture on the front of the card like her orig GC. Should there be a signature there?

  2. This Monday will be two weeks since USCIS received my wife's ROC petition. So far my check hasn't been cashed and I haven't received any letter from them. Do you guys know how long it takes for them to at least cash my check? My wife's GC expires 5/15/17. It would give me peace of mind if my check was cashed, at least then I know they started the process of working on the petition.

  3. My wife arrived on a k1 visa in sept of 2014 and we married in Oct (within 90 days).I filed for her AOS on January 30th (after i94 expired). She had her biometrics Appointment on March 4th. This past Friday we received a letter stating that her application was administratively closed because she is in removal or deportation proceedings. I was under the impression as long as I married within 90 days we could adjust her status within a reasonable time frame. We never received any notice she was in any removal proceeding until we received this letter. Do you guys think this is an error by the USCIS? If we were in removal/ deportation proceedings, why would they schedule us for a biometrics appointment? We have called USCIS and spoke to a their 2 officer and they are going to check with the national benefits center to confirm if we are indeed in removal/deportation and will email us with the results. Has anyone heard of this happening before?

  4. Today I received 3 e-mails from the USCIS with 3 case numbers. When I check the status one the uscis website, one receipt # states the status of being received for the i131 , the other also shows a status of received for the i765. however, the status for the last receipt number which is for the I-485 states only that they received my fingerprint fee for the I-485. It doesn't state anything in regards to receiving my actual I-485 application or that they received the other fee (I sent in one check). Below is the message I received. Is this normal?

  5. When you come to the USA, are you going to be on your spouse's insurance? If so get the shots here for free when you take your yearly physical. I believe that once you have taken the medical for the embassy, it is final and you will have to see a civil surgeon here. Like I stated previously most civil surgeons will try to make you take the exam over again so you will need to call around to find one who knows what they are talking about and will be willing to only transcribe the vaccines. There is a post in the adjustment of status forum where people stated which civil surgeons they went to that were willing to transcribe their vaccines for them without requiring a new medical. I would scour that list and find one near where you will be living. That is what I did.

  6. I am not sure if they are free under NHS as I am an american however, assuming you do not need any addition vaccines to be approved for the K1 and only need them for AOS and if you plan on going on your future spouse's insurance, you can go for a yearly physical and get all those shots for free under Obama Care aka "the affordable care act" in the USA. You would then need to see a civil surgeon and have them transcribe your vaccination record onto an I693 for a fee. The easiest thing would of been to have all shots before the medical and have it on the ds3025 since the USCIS will have this on file when you apply for AOS. However, since you are post medical exam now, you will need to have the vaccinations transcribed by a civil surgeon once you get to the states regardless of whether you have them done in England or the USA. My wife brought her ds3025 and proof of her vaccines she got in the states to a civil surgeon and paid $48 to have it transcribed. Be careful though, a lot of civil surgeons will try to convince you that you will need a whole new medical exam which is not true as long as you apply for AOS within one year of arriving. I hope this helps somewhat.

  7. I am applying for AOS for my wife who came her on her k-1 visa and am getting all my paperwork in order. I noticed on the example I-131 form under Part 3 section 4(a) regarding have I ever been issued a reentry permit or refugee travel document is blank. I'd imagine I would want to answer no there. Also, section 5 under part 3 is also blank where it asks if I want the document to be sent to the address in Part 1. I would imagine I would want to have this checked off as I want the advance parole document to be sent to my home address. Please advise. Thanks!

  8. Hello, recently I purchased a new home and need to update mymailing address on my petition to my new address. The case has already left the NVC for the consulate. I notified the NVC of my address change. Will this be enough or do I need to contact the consulate too since the NVC no longer has my petition? By the way my petition was sent to Moscow and has a status of ready as of 7/17/14. Thanks.
