Slow there in Baltimore, too? I know it's silly to be frustrated, but I feel as if this is the only thing that's keeping me in semi-limbo! I'm married, we have a beautiful daughter, I'm employed - I hate having it hanging in the back of my mind! Throughout this whole K1 Visa process, there have been so many "what ifs", I feel as if though we need something definite and concrete now!
Have you thought about extending your employment authorization card? Will it be expiring within the next couple of months? I am worried about applying for an extension and paying the fee just to have my green card come shortly after.

I called USCIS and visited the field office but they weren't much help. They just said "It is being processed, just wait etc". Frustrating to say the least!

Hi!
I am in the same boat. I submitted the I-485 in March of 2014 and received the letter at the end of June that my case may have interview waived. Since then I have heard nothing!!
-
So happy for you! Congrats!
-
Yes I'm hoping the same for Tassie!
-
Thanks!
"Passport has been received from the consular section, and is currently being processed for delivery"

Awesome! Well fingers crossed Ozgirl that it will be less painful and downhill from here
Hey PG & JW,
Are you able to track using your USTRAVELDOCS profile? After I log in, it does not provide me with any way to track my passport/visa?
Congrats again!
Ps. Thanks Ozgirl!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Mine too!

Thanks Ozgirl! Hope your new year is off to a great start!

Oh wow, that would be so frustrating!!! Thanks for the heads up!
Yes, fingers crossed for that update ASAP to state it's been issued!
-
Will do! It's like being on a bloody game show but more stressful! Have you booked your flights yet?

My status (I think from memory) went from
saying "ready" both before and after my interview to the update dated today of "administrative processing". Don't know if for me that is a good or bad sign!
What did your status say before it was "Ready"?
-
Hey PG & JW,
Thanks for the info! Just checked my status and it has been updated today too, yay! Does yours say "Administrative Processing"?

Checking my email/mailbox every 10 minutes has become an ingrained habit. Has anyone who had their K1 visa approved around Dec 24th received their visa yet?
-
Thanks so much guys!! I REALLY appreciate it. I will definitely get the express post with signature.

Additional Information:
Immigrant visa processing times vary. There may be unexpected ineligibilities that become apparent only at the time of your interview which require additional time and processing. For this reason, you should not make any irrevocable arrangements, such as purchasing non-refundable tickets, selling your home, or quitting your job, until after your immigrant visa is actually approved and issued to you.
Please ensure that the panel physician provides you with a copy of Form DS-3025, Vaccination Documentation Worksheet as part of your permanent health record. You should hand-carry this document with your sealed visa package and any other medical paperwork, which you will only receive once your visa has been issued. If you did not receive a copy of the DS-3025 Vaccination Documentation Worksheet we can provide one for you at the time of your interview

Yes I have interview coming up to and would also like to know if the express post envelope is needed. As the Sydney Consulate had not listed it in the required documents in the packet 4 email, I thought it had been phased out?
-
Thanks for your replies, I appreciate it! Yes, it is quite confusing unfortunately!

Hi Everyone,
I received my packet 3 email for my fiance K1 visa at the end of October and am currently going through the not so fun process of getting my Victoria Police check. After having them incorrectly send my application back to me due to after an error made on their end, I have been waiting for it since Fri 8th November 2013.
However, there does seem to be some confusion about whether or not to get a name check only or fingerprint check. (I got a name check only. I have written two emails to the U.S. Consulate General, Sydney and received the following reply assuring me that a police name check only is fine. I have attached both emails.
As there seems to be some confusion however, I would LOVE to hear from anyone who has submitted a police name check only as part of their packet 3 and received the a-ok and got the visa appointment set and packet 4.
Thanks heaps and good luck to everyone out there, it feels AMAZING to know other people are out there going through the same thing as me and my American fiance!

Thank you for your recent inquiry.
Note: you only need to apply for 1 Australian police certificate.
Your certificate can be based on a name check or fingerprint check.
If it’s based on a name check, it must contain all aliases previously and presently used. Failure to provide a name check certificate with all aliases may result in the consular officer refusing your application for a police certificate based on a fingerprint check.
Thank you

Subject: RE: K-1 Fiancé VisaI have been informed in the email below that in regards to the Australian police certificate "Your certificate can be based on a name check or fingerprint check."
However on the US Embassy Canberra website http://canberra.usembassy.gov/iv_faqs.html#police it states:
"What sort of police check do I need? Do I have to apply in each state?
The Australian police check must be done on the basis of a fingerprint check."
Which do I need, a fingerprint check or a name check?
Kind Regards,
Emma
