  2. I am proof that unanticpated delays can and will happen at moments when least expected. I had a good interview at Montreal and was told I would get the passport and visa in a week. That was on Feb 21 todate No Visa! from what I know I am undergoing administrative processing which is normal for Men some dont have to wait for more then a day some have to wait for weeks possibly months or even more. This could be due to anything however is more prevalent with men who have common last names. Im glad I didnt make any measure to leave my job or give a notice to my landlord just like the letter from the consulate states. You should make arrangements when you have the actual visa in your hand. Better to be safe then sorry. Goodluck I hope you dont have to face any delays and are united with your loved one soon.

My Landlord is selling the house that I'm renting and he's telling people that it will be available at the end of June (I had told him that that was when I intended to leave) ... he requests 60 days notice and I told him that my interview could be for June or July so I told him to accept my 60 days as of May 1st.

I don't want to be obligated to pay for another full month if my interview ends up being in the first part of June ... worst case scenario I guess would be to put my stuff in storage and live with my sister if the interview isn't until July. ... I could kinda handle that ... any further than mid July would make me lose my mind (I love my sister to death but living together with our children should only be a short time arrangement:))

  3. The consulate doesnt tell us anything except the famous line "Our Administrative Work isnt complete yet" however when the wife called DOS a few times sometimes they say AP sometimes Security Clearance. The very last time the lady said "Your case is under normal security checks, the initial review has not shown anything negative" however I dont think this means much except for the fact that atleast were not under any kind of weird investigation........well atleast not yet who knows go figure! This AP bussiness is really frustrating though im not sure how everyone else is doing but this thing is really getting to our nerves....the wait is terrible! Anyway goodluck to everyone on their AP or AR. I hope we start seeing approvals soon!

    FaK

Have any of you people on AP called DOS or the embassy to find out what the status is of your case?

We called twice and they said we are on name check....

    Take care all of you....

  4. Congrats hope you get your visa soon and are united with your wife. Dont fight with her its not her fault instead try to take your stress out on something constructive maybe getting back in shape for her or maybe brush up on your skillsets for the new chapter in your life. Goodluck!

  5. Looks like your husband is undergoing Administrative Processing something all men have to go thru however some are subject to a higher level of scrutiny then others. This process takes a few weeks for some and a few months or a couple of years for others. Im sure if you explore this forum youll get more information on this. Goodluck with your journey.

    Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had the same situation as us? My husband went to his interview on Monday, 4-16-2007, in AMMAN. It was originally scheduled for November 2007 but the embassy called him in March and rescheduled for April. He handed over his paperwork and passport after the interview. They said they would call him after they reviewed his paperwork, in a couple or three weeks. Gave no indication of approval or denial at this point. Anyone have any idea as to how long this may take? What is up with the security checks? Aren't the police records enough?

Thanks and hope to hear from someone soon.

  6. Welcome to the club like they said 3 weeks to several months there are ppl on this forum who have been waiting for upto 2 years. Anyway I hope your AR ends soon. Goodluck.

    FaK

After inquiring at moscow embassy again about interview date they say another 3 weeks to several months! They said it is under administrative review which is not unusual. My visa approval from NOA 2 says June 21 interview date will the deadline. They are now booking interview for June 13 and have passed our case number on line by several numbers already. What could this mean? Everything was routine up until this point. So much for being able to make plans.. How long has anyone waited for administrative review on this board and what was final outcome? will they still have interview but just take a long time to get there? -jordoc
  7. Thanks for the info Mary. This AP thing really is hard and harsh. we have called DOS and all they say is OH your case is going along just fine and blah blah blah i mean if its going along fine then why take so long....I have to hand it to you guys this AP takes a lot of patience and you guys have it....im still trying to figure out what is more important living apart for possibly years and then living together or living outside of usa but living a happy loving stress free life. I guess were going to give it a few more months and then see what happens!

  8. Way to go DOC!!! dont forget im rooting for ya!!!

hey guys i got the movement certificate it was long day i had to wait for it from 9am till 2pm then i got it i went to document it from the ministry of foreign affairs he told me the sta mp is not shown u must go back to them to ask them for another one i told him i have to drive for 1 and half hour for that he told me its okay we will be waitting for u to back i told him okay i went back to the movement certificates unit and i got another stamp and then went back to the ministry of foreign affairs and i showed the paper back to him and he said okay the paper looks nice i wish i could spet on his face loool but he felt shamed so i felt better i think he was feel may be the paper is fake so if i did not bring anew stamp that means its fake but i got one any way its now documented and ready to send to the embassy with the passport back via the DHL and i will wait for thier answer i wish theres good news as soon coz i did what i can and when i can and i bringed for them all the documents they needs looooool. wish me good luck guys.

  10. Personally I dont think theres anything normal with the whole process nothing really fits together every consulate have their own way of doing things. Every delay seems to fit into this magical mysterious word AP or AR! I wasnt given any written notice or verbal instructions about being put on AP.

I can immagine how frustrating it is because me and wife are going thru the exact process as well as many others here. All we can do is support each other and pray to God that our journey has a happy ending! Goodluck.

Does anybody know if it is normal to be placed on AP without any written notice??? My husband was verbally told that our case was placed on AP when his passport was returned to him a few days after the interview.

We have been on AP for 4 months now. I don't have to tell you that it's a very frustrating process especially when you have to deal with an Embassy that doesn't give you any information or updates no matter how many times you call or email the request...

  11. Ali all we can do is wait. I dont even live in PAK anymore....I had my interview which went great was given no pink or blue paper infact was told will get it in a week.....SURPRISE SURPRISE im still waiting!! Looks like for me its because I was born in PAK and even though I have been living overseas since 98 still have to endure AP. Goodluck for your journey and God bless us all. Praying for you too babybunny hang in there!

I am not sure what to do. I am daily reader of VJ, however, this is the first time I am writing. My wife had an interview for her K-3 on Feb 06,2007. Since then she is on AP, and embassy is not giving any timeframe that how long it can go. This waiting period is so painful. I have seen that there lot of people that they are dealing with that AP stuff. I would like to invite them as we all can share our MISERY.

    Thanks.

    Ali

  12. Nope you arent the only one! I was told id get the visa in a week and no pink slip no blue slip...just a YES youll get it in a week.......and im still waiting :) From what I have gathered this is the darkest hole of the process and all we can do is just be patient. It can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months or in some extreme cases a couple of years. God help us all and I hope a speedy conclusion to your AR. Goodluck!

    Hi everyone!

I just want to share the unexpected outcome of my interview this morning. I arrived at USEM around 430 am from Bayview Park Hotel. Everything went fine and the CO told me that my papers were organized and complete but they still need to verify some information in NSO regarding our status before we get married (if we have previous marriages) since we were both PINOY the time of our wedding coz my hubby wasn’t naturalize yet only last 2005 although he have been in the US for almost 15 years.

During my pre-screening (Filipino lady) only our pictures, emails, cards and snail mails were asked, I asked her if she needs to see my CENOMAR and my hubby’s 2006 ITR she said those are all fine…my money transfer receipts for the last 4 yrs were not even asked also the bank statement. Yeah, I pretty much covered everything that can served as a proof prior to our marriage but seems not enough knowing everything were organized and all originals and recent.

I feel wrecked after my moment wid the CO, I never expected it that I’ll be put on A/R. I answered all questions consistently & directly to the point with all my heart and gave some additional information like on the pictures (although it has captions already). Smiled even nerve wrecking. I don’t know where I came short. I saw some applicant weren’t even ready what to submit and present to them but end up having what they really wanted. I feel that my readings with all these visa things didn’t paid off …I still end up at the darker part of the journey. I was hoping to be reunited wid my honey in 2 weeks but I am disappointed. I strive harder but it didn’t work out. I insisted twice to present my CENOMAR to the Pre-screener and to the CO both refused to accept.

I am just wondering if I am just the only IR visa applicant here that went thru the same situation. Did I really screw up? How long am I going to be doomed?

I don’t wanna lose hope even I’ve been thru a lot of RFE’s (not our fault tho) coz I am almost there. Please..please enlighten me everyone. I don’t know when to cheer up now.

PS. They let me pay delbros and was given a paper wid “wait till u here from us” words. I brought a 3 kilos of proof but was't enough.

    I am in total despair.

  13. I can undertand exactly what your going thru Omoba. I make myself feel better that there are other people going thru the same process as I am. And there has to be an end to this dark hole and even though we cant see the light yet....the end is coming nearer each day. I agree with waitandwait that there is such outroar over illegal immigration however people fail to realize that if the legal process was made more fair and equitable maybe that would encourage ppl to do the right thing. I hope everyones AP gets over soon. Goodluck all!

    FaK

Thank you all for your encouraging words. You don't know how much that means

    to me.

My fiance is holding up ok, I give him frequent updates and that helps but you

can imagine how we both have our bad days.

Eyes on the prize will get us through !

  14. Seka,

Ive been following your interesting posts.....i hope you get the visa soon! by the way wut happened to those oakleys?

  15. Wow this is amazing. So much for incompetence I mean im going thru AP too and although its been a little more then a month for us, reading about cases like these really cause us a lot of concern. My wife is the petioner and we are now thinking that if this thing drags on for more then 3 or 4 months then shell just pack up and come here to Canada and wait it out. The only thing that then bothers is that when I am out of AP the consulate might want all the documents again and if she leaves her job then that might be an even bigger headache. I wonder if theres someone whose done something like this.

Hi! I was interviewed at Islamabad, Pakistan last year in May for IR-1 visa, I was approved and congratulated by the officer. I submitted my passport and received pink visa token with the courier address for my city. I was told that I will get my passport back along with the packet within 6-8 weeks.

This is April 2007 and I am still undergoing through necassry administrative processing including the name checks (petitioner, benificiary, co-sponsor) security clearances and other necassary paper work needs to be done by the embassy before they print the visa and sent out on its wayyyyyyy.

It happens with 99.9% of male applicants and even if they receive the clearance from the department of state they can always request another one until they are completely satisfied.

    Take care and good luck.

11 months now on ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING.

  16. Your not alone. My passport is also sitting in the consulate waiting for them to do something about it! Same canned responses in the email same nonsence over the phone. Unfortunately there seems to be no other option then to wait it out.

    Thanks,

    FaK

Thanks for all the advice, it is good to know others are and have been in the same predicament -I have my fingers crossed for everyone.

I have since been told a range of excuses varying from 'system delays' to 'system errors' to 'we scanned your fingerprints incorrectly and had to re-send them' (they did take them 8 times on the day and despite asking, I was told their machine was working just fine...). I swear they have an email template of the day and just use it.

I don't believe the facts here are written in stone, I just like people to have some integrity and do their job, if I couldn't manage expectations at work I wouldn't have a job for too long! I didn't necessarily 100% believe they would be true to their word but I didn't expect to chase this up and then be accused of being a liar (which the dept of state told my Fiance when he passed on the consular officer's statement that I would receive my passport back within 5 days-charming!) alongside having to cancel business trips planned for 3 weeks after my interview..I do appreciate others have been in worse situations but I am also comfortable with sharing my frustrations on VJ as few others understand the issues involved...

Thanks again and good luck to you all, wherever you are in the process

    Lauren

  17. Although there is a parking lot near the consulate however I think it would be more useful if your interview was in the morning. If you live just 20 minutes bus trip away I would thinkd youd be more mentally at ease during the wait time/interview. For the cell phone you can probably find a in the shopping district which is just 2 minutes walk from the consulate. Goodluck.

    FaK

Among the few that were living in Montreal itself, did you go to the embassy by car?

Ok I might sound stupid compare to everyone that has to deal with planes and trains to get here, but I dunno if I should take the bus or my car...

I'm afraid I wont find a place to park and freak out right before the interview...but I dont want to go take the bus without my purse either!

I know i just live 20 min away from the embassy with the bus, would probably be easy, but then no cell phone to call my fiance once im out of there.

    Dunno...

  18. Hi faal4anisa,

My wife called DOS 202 663 1225 and was able to get thru. Frankly some ppl say that DOS dont have more info then the consulate but to us they were atleast able to provide a better explanation of what the status was i.e AP/Security Checks. The consulate kept giving us canned vague responses in their email and the same kind of nonsense over the phone. Goodluck I hope you get off AP soon.

    Thanks,

    FaK

    Hi Marynmian

I remember u gave a DOS number to desperado i had the following numbers

    202-663-1225 and 202-647-8411

I try the first number but u had to keep listening to do this dial this number do this dial this number but i never heard about what to do to know about my case status and secondly i dial the other number nobody response and bell keep ringing so please tell me what the correct number to dial and what the procedure to get to the operator soon rather keep listening blah blah and no good information

Looking forward for your kind response

    thanks

  19. Hello and welcome to VJ,

    Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how their interview at the Islamabad Consulate went. I filed an I-129F and an I-130 on my husband's behalf, which both got approved and he is waiting to have his interview on May 15 2007  ? So what kind of experience did you have? When do they need the Medical exam- before the interview or on the day of the interview? Please share your experiences!!

    Thanks!!

  20. Sorry you had a bad experience however sometimes CO's act this way maybe she was having a bad day like you said. I wouldnt take her behaviour personally although it does seem to be unprofessional. The pink slip is normal and is given to a lot of people. It just means they may either be checking your documentation or doing your security clearance. There is a lot of information available on this forum for AP or for clearance. Goodluck and dont give up hope. You might want to add more information which will be helpful for all of us to give you more advise.

    Thanks,

    FaK

    Hi Every One

With all the blessings of ALAH i had an interview today at London consulate and they did'nt deny my application but they gave me a pink form which discribes that my application is suspendedand they will need '' addinational adminstrative check needed''.They guy was very nice and he aske following questions,

(A)how u met ur fiancee, which web site and when?

(B)have u ever had another passport?

©why she is not working presently(caz she is on california cash aid programme)?

(D)when u inted to tavel to US?

(E)have u visited Pakistan after comming to UK,(caz i m on student visa)?

(F)do u talk to her every day?

(G)when u met her for the first time?

(H)when she lef UK after visiting u?

(I)For how long she stayed with u?

My experience on the first window when they the chinee lady took my documents was the worse experiene of my life .I hvent met such a rude and stupid person in my life. When i were called on window one there was a chinese lady(i appologise if some one will take it wrong caz i m not a racest, caz u gu r going to decide after reading this that i m right or wrong)She didnt say hi or any thing but guess what ........she was angry with his collegue which was on nexe window closer to her.She smashed thesmall tripode which they use to take ur pic and scan it in to the pc.Then she threw pen on the wall and aksed for the finger prints. Then after checkin my docuents she told me i didnt send DS-156K,i said i did she looked at me fiercely ''NO U DIDNT'.Then she went somewhere and came back with the DS_156K forms, caz i already sent them to the embassy. Then she threw my sponsors tax returns on the glass towards me and kept only latest one. After depositing the visa fee i came bak she told me to wait.I realized that i dont have courrier slip i checked every thing then decided to go back and talk to her.I asked her i didnt have that courrier sli she said which slip,i explained again, she said (rudely)if it is important i would have given to u so wait for ur turn to be called for the interview and take ur seat......i swear to GOD i was really pissed off.I Cant imagine some one could have that much non professional apporoch.I have decided that even if they deny y application i wont let her go like that i will write a letter to the counslor and send him an email as well about that and i want some disclipinery action against her behaviour, and i will need u guys help and support caz i dont deserve tis for no reason, but at the end it worth to be calm c i just wanna be with my sweet heart.

Finally i want to know that is any body there got the same pink form about suspendd essage and what they will check.he tol me it will take 4-6 weeks and they will call me and tell me to send the passport to the embassy or will tell me about the denial(may ALLAH grant me the visa and for u guys as well).

Plz tell me that its approved or denied or what ............confussed lover

thanks for reading such a lenthy post and by the way that lady name was FING LEE..............B~~~~~~~~~~h

  21. Yes this is not uncommon, women genrally get thru admin processing much quicker then men. If you havent you may want to go thru the Pakistan consulate thread which has some information in it about admin processing, security checks etc. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=79

You can also go thru this website: http://www.usaimmigrationattorney.com/Secu...tiveReview.html

    Good Luck,

    FaK

    Hi,

Is US embassy in Islamabad putting females CR1 on administrative review also? Or is it mostly for male CR1 visa applicants? The whole US visa immigration system is utterly frustrating and ridiculous. Anybody whose wife has this issue in US embassy in Islamabad?

    Regards

  22. You can also go to this website which gives you extensive information about Security Checks, AP & AR and the proceeses involved. http://www.usvisainfo.com/pageDisplay.php?docID=100

    and http://www.usvisainfo.com/pageDisplay.php?docID=97

    Good Luck,

    FaK

Those of you going through A/P did you pay for the visa in advance? if so did the interviewer say where your papers would go after that? I am confused because my fiance got a DHL paper he payed $48 for the visa in advance from what i heard his papers go through A/P then they do more security checks then after he goes through that the visa will be sent to him. Where do they conduct the security checks? And i was confused also because on his DHL receipt it shows his delivery date on the day of his interview his passport is being sent from the Embassy to his house. So when in this time does he get the security check? I might have to contact the Embassy. I read on here a while ago after the interview all papers go to Washington DC where the background checks are done then they sent his passport with the visa after that's finished to him. Is this right does anyone know thanks in advance.
