  1. I am sure after the embassy being closed and so-on,and so-on, the phones are totally jammed.

For status updates check the CEAC website.

That's what I figured and calling from the United States it takes a few seconds to connect . I have from 1PM to 3PM to get through . I am calling the citizenship area of the embassy . Checking on our daughter's U.S. passport which was mailed on 11/25 to the embassy . Should be there and ready to be delivered by Air21 . Almost done whewwwwww can't wait LOL

I know the numbers . I just can not seem to get through on the ones I need to call . I am trying to check the status of a passport . Curious to find out if it is a phone issue or just the typhoon backing up the lines . The time it takes to call from the United States and being connected is impossible it seems .

  3. My wife has her CR-1 visa already . Our daughter's CRBA was approved on 11/21 and passport was mailed from the U.S.A on 11/25 . It should arrive in Manila by the end of the week . Then to be mailed by Air21 to my wife in her province .

My concern now is this typhoon which is a signal 1 and soon to be a signal 3 by tonight . They were advised to be ready for transport to the evacuation center in her city . If i am able to get them out to Manila could we request an emergency passport since we do have an approved CRBA ? Perhaps the passport would be in Manila by that time . At the very least I am considering to have it held in Manila . I just want to be sure they could travel with no problems .

  4. After our daughter's appointment the CO requested more documents . I gathered and mailed and they were received on 11/14 . Hoping they will approve and mail the passport to my wife soon . Just waiting for the baby now as my wife has her CR-1 already . I hear 2-3 months ? Do I need to e-mail or call them to make sure its being done ? Will I receive any notice by e-mail on the status ?

  5. We recently had our CRBA at the U.S. embassy . They gave my wife a letter requesting more documents before they could process . Here is one of the checked items .

Original proof of U.S. citizen parent's physical presence in the U.S. for 5 (five) years , two of which must be after the U.S. citizen's age of 14 and prior to the birth of the applicant to transmit citizenship (e.g current passport and old passports , ITR with W2 form ; military service records/history of assignments/DD214 , employment records with leave and earnings statement , school transcripts etc)

What is underlined is what the CO did at the time of the appointment . I figured they were suggestions rather then what they exactly were asking for . I do not have my old passport which was reported lost to the State Department when I applied for my new passport . I was never in the military . Now the employment records are part of the military records ? If not what exactly should the employment record have on it ? Leave and earning statements can anyone clarify ? I know what they are , but just seems strange to request leave which seems like a military term .

This is what I am able to provide thus far .

    W2's 2009 to 2013

    ITR 2009 to 2013

Current Passport (notarized on each page)

School transcripts hopefully I will be able to get soon . So far they are unable to find any records from high school . Something about a lot of those records from the 1980's being lost or something .

Anyone know the time to complete the CRBA once you respond to the document request ?

  6. My wife had scars on her x-ray at St. Lukes and needed the sputum . The delay was 2-3 months for the results . This was a number of years ago and when we met she went to the medical and no sputum was needed . Her x-ray was totally clear infact and the doctor was amazed over it . If possible as others have suggested do the medical early and do bring the x-rays you have with you . Delays in the journey are rough to deal with , but do try to remain positive and plan ahead such as going early to the medical . My wife was a nervous wreck going back to the medical and it was a breeze for her . Hopefully the outcome will be the same for you as well .

  7. Received request for more documents from the embassy in Manila .

Original proof of U.S. citizen parent's physical presence in the U.S. for 5 (five) years , two of which must be after the U.S. citizen's age of 14 and prior to the birth of the applicant to transmit citizenship (e.g current passport and old passports , ITR with W2 form ; military service records/history of assignments/DD214 employment records with leave and earnings statement , school transcripts etc)

What is underlined is what the CO suggested to send . I sent in my passport notarized letter stating this is my copy from my original passport . Which was not acceptable needs to be each page . OK that can be fixed easy enough . I also sent in 2009 2010 2011 and 2013 taxes 2012 and 2013 W2's and bills dating back to 2007 . This was not good enough .

I reported my old passport from when I was 15 stolen when I applied for my current passport in 2013 . I can get W2's from 2008 to 2012 to go along with each ITR . I can also get an employment record from 2001 to 2012 . What about school transcripts ? That was over 20 years ago .. would they mean more recent transcripts from college ?

Also this was on the 221g

Submit additional documentary evidence or optional DNA test

Proof of parents physical presence in the same location at the probable time of conception (e.g original or notarized copies of passports , departure /arrival records from the Philippine Bureau of Immigration , ect)

I am going to send in my passport with each page notarized . Now it is $10 per page to get this done . My banks will not notarize any printed documents such as my passport . I have my passport stamps , Phil Immigrations visa extension , and airline tickets going and leaving Manila . That should be enough .. I also sent in originally pictures of us together throughout my trip with timestamps

They also requested with no reason given a new DS-3053 original . Guess they need a new one with new documents being sent . Just my best guess ...

So depressing to go from Medical , Interview , and to be slowed down by CRBA.... Hopefully we can get these to Manila and get the passport sent quickly . Just waiting on the little one then they will be on their way home ... WooHoo

  8. Let's say our daughter's name is " Lisa Ana Kirk Jones " and I put on the DS forms just " Lisa " as first when that name should be " Lisa Ana " . This is how it appears on the forms FIRST Lisa Middle Ana Kirk LAST Jones . On her NSO birth certificate it appears " Lisa Ana " as first name .

How much of a problem will this be at the CRBA interview ? I will not be present at the interview and already filled out the DS forms with the notary . When I examine my U.S. passport the surname appears first then below is given names . With that in mind when our daughter's passport is issued it should appear to be correct . On the surname will be " Jones " on given it will read " Lisa Ana Kirk . Question really is how critical the wording is on the DS forms and if they allow it and approve the CRBA . I doubt I could redo the DS forms and send them in time . Hopefully everything will be OK the way it is .

  9. Ahh... two forms of ID and the letter. I will need to remember the two IDs. thanks

They can be scanned copies .... also you are able to hold the package at a location until you will be available to receive it .

  10. Your wife will need to leave her ID with someone at the house and write a letter stating they are authorized to receive the package. I heard that will work.

If no one will be there, arrange for it to be delivered a different day.

I spoke to them directly on the phone . We will have it delivered tomorrow . We have to send 2 forms of ID and the letter that you spoke about . Her sister will accept the delivery . Having it sent back would take too long and we need the passport for the CRBA on the 29th . Will be a nervous week , but I think it will reach her in time by LBC .

    Thanks Hank

  11. My wife is in Manila and the visa is being delivered by 2GO to her home address . She will not be there for the pick up . Will they let the package with a family member ? I am going to do an online chat at 8Am , but just wondering if anyone has had any problems like this before . We would like to get it delivered to MOA if possible . What will happen to it if no one is available to pick up at the delivery address ?

  12. Just wondering how often they will request original documents . My wife lost her original U.S. divorce decree . We have copies of it and just hoping they will not request to see the original . We have the interview and CRBA to get through . I am going to get another copy sent to my U.S. address and send it USPS . We believe it was sent to NVC with the IV documents since it was stated to send originals as well . If that was done would the embassy have that IV file in Manila ?

  13. My wife's interview is on Monday July 7th . She can't make it due to being pregnant . I emailed Manila and got a auto response that they have noted my conerns and will get back to me . I called the number to Manila , but it was not working . I just found another number to call , but they were closed on Friday . Can I call on Monday and still request to change the interview ?

  14. OK just wondering how to prepare the evidence for the CRBA . With the I-130 I used 2 hole punch with the 2 hole fastener which worked well . Will that work for being in person at the counter in U.S. embassy for CRBA ? Would you suggest to use the 2 hole punch ? I just like the neatness of it .

Right now I have it in sections from the check list with a blank piece of paper with the description of the contents for each one . The forms I was going to keep seperate . I guess in a folder with pockets , so they can do what they like with it after for thier files .

  15. Receieved an email from the embassy today . Stating they reviewed our case file and requested some documents that should be taken to the interview . My main questions is they requested a Cenomar of no marriage . Now we are CR-1 so how could we obtain that ? It would be a Cenmar of marriage . Now I am guessing this is what they meant or want to see .
