Hi. I also have this problem. I am going to fill the i-864 for my wife, however I did not file any tax returns as I lived abroad and did not work (Romania). We do have a Co-sponsor. Could you help me with some advice ? Thanks.

Thank you for your reply. So being unemployed should not be a problem is that correct? I hope that they will take into consideration my age(23) and the fact that I only had 1 job until now is because of my age and not laziness ))). Any other advice regarding the i-130 process? Thanks !

Hi everybody ! I'm currently at the beginning of my I-130 process. I received NOA1 about three weeks ago. However I like to think in advance and I'm a bit worried regarding the AOS. I am currently in Romania, as I am here with my wife, and don't want to leave to the US with her. I've been here for the last two years and I've been unemployed. In the last three years I only had one job in the US and gained somewhere between 7-8000 $.

My questions are:

1. do I need to submit the tax transcripts for the last three years?

2. how do I complete I-864 if I was unemployed?

3. do I need to write a cover letter to explain my case?

4. can anyone be my joint sponsor?
