  1. Not a bad idea Rob. We spend so much time to make sure our documentation we are sending our wife's is perfect most of us never think of an NSO issued document getting challenged. I would think to have extra copies at the time of interview will help. The only thing I don't understand is why the embassy would ask my wife to bring another one if they are going to take 4 to 6 weeks to request their own copy from manila cso???

Then again, not much about this whole process makes sense to start with. It is sad that so much fraud puts the legitimate people through this extra waiting. Oh well, a new day and we will make it.

You guys can tell me if you think this will work or not. I am ordering one copy of Lilia's birth certificate online and having it delivered directly to the USE in NSO envelope with our MNL file number on the address. Lilia will order one additional copy (other than the one she currently has) from NSO on NSO paper in unopened NSO envelope. Hopefully, the one mailed from NSO will find its way to our file prior to the interview. We will have one additional copy from NSO in unopened envelope from NSO PLUS the one she already has in her file. I will also attend the interview. These are all the measures I can think of to head off what appears to be almost automatic AR.
  2. I wanted to post regarding our AR because of an amended bc on NSO paper issued by NSO to my wife. I called and spoke with the embassy this morning and they told me my wife just needed to provide another NSO copy of her bc because the consulate officer was not happy with the copy she provided in the interview, no reason given just wasn't satisfied with it.

My wife went to the NSO office in Quezon City today and she will pick up another copy of her bc at 10am tomorrow morning. She was instructed by the consular officer to bring the new bc to the embassy at 1pm tomorrow. The part that gets me is, the embassy will still take 4 to 6 weeks to complete their internal investigation where they may request their own copy of the bc from the nso to complete their review. Embassy said once the review is completed they will release the visa to delbros for delivery. Now we are back to playing timeline games and my wife is going to live with her aunt in Makati city and wait on delivery or a letter from embassy because she beleives the visa will be released in a matter of days. She said the consulate officer (lady) was very nice and smiled and laughed with her then stuck it to us..ha

We did this by the book, paperwork was perfect, it just blew up in our face over her father's name being changed several years ago on the bc. If I had any advice I would say to include a visit during the medical to the NSO office in Quezon City to request several copies of your BC, CENOMAR and/or marriage certificate so that your wife/fiance can pull extra nso copies out if her bc or any other document is challenged. In the end, if they want to put you into AR, it is their perogative.

You can also request by web, pay with cc and have it delivered in 9 to 12 days locally according to their site.

    https://www.ecensus.com.ph/Secure/frmIndex.asp

    wish us luck,

  3. My wife's bc had been corrected and reissued by CSO a few years ago. The embassy put us in AR today and said they needed to verify her bc with NSO. They asked her to obtain a new one and wait for a letter before she can go back. Oh, and to pay delbros on her way out.

I have no idea how long we will be in AR over this but I am preparing for the worst because of this delay.

  4. There is a sticker with a few stamps with signatures from CSO indicated on it by the corrections.

My wife seems a bit more upbeat about this than I. She acted so matter a fact about it and said the consulate officer told her that her visa is approved and to go pay the delbros but that the visa would not be released for delivery until she returned to the embassy with the duplicate copy from the NSO. I guess from all the reading I have done I know it can take 4 to 6 weeks to get an NSO document. My wife is from cebu but staying with family in Makati City and is determined to stay there and go after nso for another copy of the bc.

I went ahead and paid $20 from the NSO website to have another copy couriered to her aunt's house, 3 days to process request and 9 days to deliver the document according to the receipt after submitting my request.

How are these "corrections" done on the BC? Handwritten or what? How do they know it's corrected or amended?
  5. Yes NSO security paper and all. Consulate Officer told her due to high fraud to changed birth certificates any amended birth certificates need to be verfied by requesting a copy from the NSO. I've requested online and wife is there in person now.

What kills me is it was a typo on her fathers first name Manual instead of Manuel, and her birth cert on nso had the correction stamps and seals.

Guess an amended birth certificate is an automatic AR

Were yours on NSO security paper?

garya i believe your fiance is from CDO right? i got my BC here at the NSO CDO. and of course i believe all BC coming from the NSO itself is all being done and printed with their security paper. an NSO seal on the top left side, a barcode and serial no#'s on the bottom left side, printed name and signature by the Administrator and Civil Registar on the bottom right side. (i wish i could scan it for u but my scanner wont scan if one of the ink is empty)... but if u really want to make it sure, have ur fiancee go to the NSO office (easy to reach if your from CDO), or have her call the local office and ask if all security paper are the same regardless on where u requested ur BC... i wana hear what's the final verdict too! lol

  6. Wife called, the consulate officer gave her a form and told her that since her birthcertificate has been corrected that they need another copy from NSO. Gave her instructions to report to NSO for another copy and come back to embassy. She was asked to pay delbros.

All because her father's first middle name was misspelled on her original birth certificate and was corrected with the nso several years ago.

oh well...I'm numb at this point.

I am climbing the walls nervously waiting a call from my wife. She is at the embassy doing interview today. I hope to have some good news later this evening!

All these months of waiting, paperwork, fees comes down to a 2 or 3 minute interview with a consulate officer...

  7. Hi Everyone. This is the deal- The NVC sent me a notice stating that the I129F petition will be forwarded to the Embassy in manila within a week so this means my wife should be getting her Packet 3 soon. As of now all I have paid for is the I129F Petition and the I130 Petition. My questions are as follows:

Hi Gary - congrats on the approvals and welcome to the next waiting game ha.

#1) Will my wife have to pay for anything when she receives the Packet 3 from the Embassy by the Delivery person from Delbros-If so-How Much?

no. my wife received her packet 3 (acknowlegment and checklist from embassy) about 3 weeks after the embassy received the 129f approved petition. You can call NVC to confirm delivery to the embassy.

    #2)What will Packet 3 include?

letter saying the embassy has received the petition

#3) How does she know when her Medical is suppose to be done(before or after she gets Packet 4) and where can it be done at? She lives very far away from Manila-is St. Lukes her only option?

When your wife receives Packet 4 which will have appointment letter telling her when to report to St Lukes Clinic for the 2 day medical and her visa interview date which is usually the following week.

#4)What do we have to pay for and at what stage of our Journey do we pay? I have found links that are only adding to my confusement. I just cant focus-Please Help-Please

129 - nothing yet. $100 St Lukes for medical and $100 to a local bank for visa fee

If someone could just tell me what we do(forms,fees,appointments,etc...) after Marie gets Packet 3 I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks-Gary

If you are going to use the 129f to bring your wife here, just the medical and visa fees. You will pay the AOS fees once she is here to adjust her status.

  8. Yes, I confirmed the same, the cenomar is needed for the K1 fiance. The k3 spousal needs the marriage certificate issued by NSO on their NSO paper.

every time I read something like this I have a panic attack being a week from interview ha. The wife and I are both climbing the walls, checking and rechecking paperwork.

ds156 - I have read conflicting posts regarding the completion of the address, some say to put the address you want the delbros delivered to on this form. Then you read interview post which indicate visiting the delbros window and providing a delivery address.

Question: should we go ahead and put her home address in the online ds156, generate barcode and print or put her aunt's address in Makati city where my wife will be staying after the interview to wait on visa delivery?

Question 2: Is Makati City in the province Metro Manila? Its amazing how many phils I ask what province Makati City is in and they don't know!?!?!? Of course it shouldn't surprise me since it took me all morning to find a local who knew where the phils immigration office was in Cebu city to extend my tourist visa back in June. Amazing how little people know about their own city.

    thanks in advance

We are married, so I guess we don't need this. I just called my attorney on the phone and that is what he said.
  9. I did the same in Cebu back in June when I stayed a month except the wait at the phil immigration office was a couple of hours.

You can find a list of immigration offices at this link.

    http://www.immigration.gov.ph/provincial_o...mp;subports.php

Back in April when I went to the office in Olongapo, I arrived at 8 am when they opened, there was no line, and I was in and out in 10 minutes. Make sure you have the 4000 peso fee with you when you go.

You can also get a 6 month visa at a Philippine consulate in the United States if you happen to live near one, but if you wife lives near one of the offices in the Philippines I believe that is easier.

  10. Uling, any reservations by your so or you about her flying into LAX POE? Are you nervous at all about her doing the POE interview by herself? I have talked with my wife about meeting her at LAX and having her take a direct MNL/LAX flight but she is nervous about going through immigration and customs.

What do you guys think? Anyone else have their wife/fiance travel to POE alone?

Great news, Sheriff! So when is Wilma flying over?

Jhen (Wilma) is flying out Tuesday via PAL. Tomorrow she will be going to CFO in order to get her visa stamped and to the ticketing office to pick up the plane ticket...

  11. Add us to list please MNL2006775

umm, just want to share something here, so we can have our own guesstimate :D, especially those who are still waiting just like me..

i have pm'd couple of guys in here like roundbo and ronmay, and we have compared case #s..

    roundbo's #756

    ronmay's #757

    mine's#762

roundbo was just in time. he got like a jan.30 date (congrats). so the embassy must have started with the 730's to 756's for the january interview dates. (i wonder if kirkandjenny too is included because they have like 743's).. so perhaps for the february dates, they will start with a few who are close before/after #756's, then #757's, and so on.. hopefully, we are also included for february

umm, well, just sharing :D . congrats and all the best to everyone!

    somebody can add mine too

    OK, somebody can add us:

    Name: arch & cel

    NOA2: 09-11-06

    NVC Recd: 10-02-06

    MNL Recd: 10-25-06

    Interview: XX-XX-XX

    Case Number: 2006-772xxx..

    tanx!!!!

  12. When the embassy receives K3 - they will send out letter with checklist, then packet 4 with medical and interview date. $95 is due at St Lukes for medical then $100 due for visa processing fee before interview date. She will pay these fees and keep receipts.

Both petitions have been approved-whats my next step as far as paying for the Visa-Does Marie pay for it when she goes for her interview? Thanks-Gary
  13. Good move, things really happened for my wife and I after faxing our 2 senators and local congressman. I have emails responses from the embassy to the senators and congressmen and senators. I strongly beleive there played a big part in keeping our case moving forward.

also just filed a congressional inquiry with my local congressman to speak up on behalf of my case. well see what comes of that!

thanks for reading and for your help!!!

  14. You can start calling NVC about a week after approvals to see when they receive. The k3 will get shipped out to embassy while nvc will generate AOS bill and Fee to you on the k1.

NVC can also confirm when the embassy receives the approved petition as well. I beleive I did receive a letter from nvc but it was nearly a month after and I had already called to confirm.

Since your k3 approved at the same time, it will beat the k1 to the embassy. You have a decision to make on whether to hedge your bet and pay the IV bill and AOS fee to the NVC or persue the k3 to get your spouse here. Those fees are non-refundable.

Delbros is a bit later, after your spouse completes medical and interview you are directed to pay a delbros fee for delivery of your approved visa.

NVC - For immigrant visa inquiries, call the National Visa Center at 603-334-0700, provide your case number to get update on your case.

  15. If she has the MNL case number and the NOA2, along with fee, photos, passport, she can go ahead and complete medical. Without the NOA2 or Appointment letter the guard will harass and refuse entry.

    A couple questions:

What might "Extended port of entry" mean?

We are doing practice questions for the interview and that one came up. Any ideas?

Elaine will be going to Manila on Friday her time, so the day after tomorrow, and then she will try to get into the medical exam earlier than the 27th.

...does she need to make some calls to reschedule the medical appointment? or is is first come first serve?

I think the medical is the luck of the draw. My wife had day 1 on the 15th, it was busy but she got everything done, they just told her to come back today for the results. She is complaining of long waits today just to get results.

BJZags - Was your fiancee able to complete the medical exam an vaccination the same day?

That would be a big negative sheriff Uling. Originally she thought she wasn't going to need any vaccinations which is why she thought maybe she'd be done in one day. Turns out the second-day for the vaccinations was even longer then her initial medical on the first day. And I'm not sure, but due to the "pain" she expressed, it seems like they adminster the vaccinations with cattle prods or something.

  16. Thanks for the heads up Mark. I would hate to be going to the embassy on the 29th. My wife interviews the day before on the 28th.

    Announcement

The Philippine Government has declared that December 1, 2006 (Friday) will be the official date of its regularly scheduled holiday (Bonifacio Day). The Embassy will follow this declaration and we will be closed for business on this day.

Immigrant visa applicants with interview appointments scheduled for December 1 have all been rescheduled for interviews on November 29, 2006 (Wednesday ).

For additional details, you may contact our Visa Call Center at 1-909-101-7878 (available only within the Philippines through a PLDT or Smart landline with NDD or IDD access). Its hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M., except on Philippine and American holidays.

  17. You have been a member for over a year and this is the best you can do to contribute to this forum? Do us a favor, gather up your toys and find a new sandbox to play in. I imagine its only a matter of time before an admin find this and deletes it from the forum, I hope they ban you and your ip as well.

  18. Thats great news, my wife is in Manila now, going for medical tomorrow, hopefully it will be a light day for her as well.

Must have been a slow day at St. Lukes. Jen was in and done with all her exams by 11:00 AM. She said she may even be able to complete her vaccinations today and NOT have to return for them tomorrow. Somehow I thought this was supposed to be a day-long ordeal of waiting around watching the paint dry excercise in patience. Hopefully her ease in the medical is a positive sign of things to come.
  19. Gary, congrats on your approvals. The approvals will most likely hit the NVC for processing in about 7 to 10 days. I would start calling the NVC after a week to confirm they have received. They will be able to tell you when they send your k3 to the embassy as well as when the embassy receives it. Be sure to have your case numbers ready when you call them. If your looking at which one will process faster to get your wife here, that K3 will reach embassy long before NVC gets finished up and those fees you pay to NVC are not refundable so you have a decision to make and no one knows you and your wife like you do.

NVC - For immigrant visa inquiries, call the National Visa Center at 603-334-0700

Not sure on any new support forms, I went ahead prepared and sent both to my wife just in case our K1 ever caught up.

    Good luck and Congrats!

Hey Everyone-Well-Maries I129F and the I-130 petitions were both approved on the same day (Nov.3rd). My question is this- Is there a new affidavit of support form I should be aware of- whats this EZ form I read about?. When I was about to download the I864 i noticed that it said it expired on 10/16/06 or maybe it was 11/16/06(I forget) but anyway- Could someone please tell me the affidavit of support I will need to send Marie in the Philippines. Should I send her both of them because from what i read we wont know what one is needed until she is informed of which one they will want. I would rather just send her both to be on the safe side. Im not sure if it will make a difference in the type of affidavit I send but I am also using a co-sponsor because of a 6 month lay-off last year.

I also have another question-Will the NVC send me an email telling me when they send the approved petition to the US Embassy in Manila and will the consulate in manila notify me when they send the packet to Marie. I am signed up for emails from them. Thanks ahead of time-Gary

  20. hahahahahhaha ROFL, Andy that is funny.

You could always factor in the visa delivery time waiting after interview as well! The embassy we are going through can be anywhere from 3 days for local delivery to as long as a month from what I have read on the board, unless you get put into Administrative Review that is before approval, then you might as well pack your bags and move over there.

    Great stuff...insane I tell you.
