No online update as of yet. I will leave it a month and if I don't have an update, I'll email them again 👍

Well USCIS have outdone themselves this time. I received my replacement GC in the mail this morning... And the resident since date is still incorrect 🙄
They have literally just printed out a duplicate card, with the same error.
So at this point, after a robotic, unhelpful conversation with someone at the USCIS call center, and to avoid submitting yet another long winded Service Request, I am mailing the card straight back to the Eastern Forms Center.

It's not the end of the world... But man, I'm sick of having to spend time writing detailed letters that no one apparently bothers to read, traveling hours to my nearest local office for stamps, and renewing my driver's licence every six months. It's tedious, and it's expensive! I really hope that they accept receipt of my letter (as the original recall letter stated a deadline of 20 days) and that they can fix it there. I'm going to be really annoyed if I have to go the i-90 route after all of this 😐

Plenty of information in this forum. Go back about 15-20 pages and you'll find everything you need 👍😊

Probably for the best. A few of us around that date got cards with incorrect 'Resident Since' dates. So we're having to return them... And the process is very unclear. Some have filed an i-90, which has a processing time of more than a year, others like myself, filed a Service Request online. USCIS emailed me instructions to return the card to them, with a short letter describing the issue, and that it would be expedited (whatever timeframe that will mean lol).

For those still following with the same issue - I mailed my GC and letter via courier (UPS), and they received and signed for it today... So I'll update my timeline when I get my new GC 👍 Hopefully it won't take a year! 😫

I just received an email response to my SR about the wrong Resident Since Date. The instructions say that I should mail the GC with an attached letter directly to an address in CA, and mark it to be expedited due to USCIS error. It does not mention having to complete an I-90 form. So I will be mailing my GC tomorrow and hopefully will get a corrected one soon.

I did not file any type of i-90. I did an online Service Request through the DHS website for 'Typographical Error'. The email that I received today does not state anywhere that I need to file an i-90, just that I return the Green Card to them with a covering letter describing the error, and mark it to be expedited. It does not state how long the expedited process takes - However I will come back here to update once I receive my corrected Green Card.

You may have received different instructions if you filed an i-90 for the error (my apologies, I don't have time to go back to look at your specific case or timeline to see what your situation is). Part of the i-90 process is new biometrics - I also read that the biometrics should be waived if the error was on USCIS. This is just stuff that I've read along the way of course. Maybe submitting a Service Request online, would be a good option - You may get the same response that we did, and then you could withdraw your i-90?

P.S. Always better to be legal than illegal, no matter the delays!

I'm going to see what the result of my SR is... If it's to file an I-90 (which I think it will be) then I will make an info pass appt at my local office to discuss it with someone in person. I am hoping that they say that it's okay to use this GC while waiting on the new one, but I don't want to just go ahead and knowingly use it with an error and it caused problems for applying for Citizenship.
    This is so frustrating.

Sounds like some miscommunication to me... Hopefully you'll get information soon and get it all cleared up 👍 Good luck!

Actually, there's a possibility that as a direct result of me calling to place an SR, my case was looked at and ultimately pushed for approval. There's no way for me to know for sure of course, that if I hadn't called, they may have approved it anyway. However, I literally just received an email from USCIS that states that they are responding to my SR, and that the results of the SR were as listed - We approved your case. I was already aware of this on 3/15.

So it may have made a big difference. I don't think there's anything wrong with contacting USCIS if you're out of their listed processing time 👍

There's two ways to look at it though Ozgirl... It may have extended your wait time for now, which isn't ideal, but it's also likely you'll have full Citizenship approval within the next couple of months 👍 For us that didn't file N400 yet, we're back to the bottom of the barrel for processing time. I don't think any of us could have predicted how long this process would take either way.

Hope you hear something soon! 😊❤️

I'm personally going to wait until I have the GC in hand... I don't want to risk my N400 application freezing the card production for some reason, and then having to continue carrying my passport around, and going to more info pass appts - I have to get a new driving license each time too - No thank you lol!
N400 processing times are local office dependant (so I believe). Mine is currently processing June 2017. So another wait when I do, but with much less inconvenience 👍

I was approved 3/15, received the approval letter 3/19. My letter states up to 60 days for the GC to arrive. I'm sure it varies for everyone, but it is officially up to 60 days 👍

Yes, I used the second one that was originally not recognised. I don't know if my case getting looked at was a result of the SR request, or if they were getting to it anyway... But it's worth a shot.

As you say, could be that it's a large family situation, so they need time to process e the extra paperwork... Or the N400. There doesn't seem to be any consistency with the processes. But I shouldn't worry... I think given that you have two factors that would potentially take longer than usual, it's just a waiting game. I'm sure your approval is right around the corner ❤️ Keep us posted!

Just for timelines sake for those still waiting - I was approved 3/15 (email received) and USPS shows that I should receive my approval letter from USCIS today. It's got the statue of liberty shadow, and it says it's coming from from the CSC, not the local office 👍

I just received email notification of approval! Approval date is 3/16, although the email didn't come through until this morning 3/17 for some reason.

    For those still waiting:

The email was from the DHS website, and it was the second WAC number. It says I should receive an approval letter in the mail by April 15th. The first WAC number still states "received".
On the original USCIS website, first WAC number still states "received" and second WAC number (which updated a few days ago) still states "name updated". In short, my experience is to go off the DHS site for the most up to date.

Thank you so much to everyone that has posted their experience and advice. I will leave notifications for this thread on, and will continue to contribute for those still waiting. Thank you again!
