You'll get an email from London's visa unit with a tracking link. You can then check delivery progress on the courier's website. The tracking link doesn't always work though, so you might need to copy and paste the link into your web browser.
Two days after my CEAC status changed to "Issued", I received the email around late afternoon/early evening. I was able to pick up my visa the very next day from the depot in London. If you need to call someone, it will be the depot location you chose when you paid for the courier.
Thank you, very helpful!

Hi all, how will I be notifed of when I can pick up my visa (it has been issued) from the courier depot location requested? Will I be emailed? or is it likely phone contact? Or is it up to me to phone the location?
Thank you!

Hi thanks, I did email them yesterday after the event, but no reply... I will definitey call on Monday. Thanks! Will let you guys know what happens.
Call them early Monday morning and tell them to date the original before it goes to the embassy. Being CR1, you will be done with all things immunization by the visa interview and won't need your copy for anything, unlike those who adjust status (K1).

Hi all,
Had my appointment at Knightsbridge doctors in London yesterday. I've just been looking at the documentation they gave me back, and I noticed that the vaccination document (vaccination document worksheet) has not been dated (though it has been signed)
Is this going to effect me in any way?
Thanks!

Hrm that's interesting and the first I've heard of it but it must be specific to Kingsbridge. I know I did not, and nor has any other Canadian have to, bring a police certificate to a medical. I have not heard of other countries having to do it either but it would be interesting to find out if there are others.
Mostly, however, I was correcting your other little bit of information about places lived in the last year only needing a police certificate. It is anyplace you have lived, where available, for 12 months or more, since you were 16.
Well Knightsbridge is the only one in the UK that does it, so it must be standard for UK. Wonder why we're the only ones? Interesting!

Hi NLR, for my medical they have requested my police certificate. UK citizen. Please refer to this:
http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/164203/cons-visa/iv018a_medical.pdf
Says on first page
Not quite correct on the second part I'm afraid.
You must obtain, if available, a police certificate for any country that you've lived in for 12 months or more since age 16. I have yet to hear of a police certificate being needed for a medical.
Go to the reciprocity table on the NVC website to find out how to get the police certificate for each country you require one from.

Thank you!
Congratulations on the interview date. I have added you to the spreadsheet.

Hi, are you the beneficiary? or the petitioner? If wife is beneficiary, that's not a problem, if she is petitioning for you, then she needs to be resident in the US, and have proof of how she can support you in the US. Not sure if there's a work around, but I'm sure @NLR or someone will help!

Not sure if this helps you, but: http://london.usembassy.gov/faq-visa-gen.html
I have a valid visa in an expired passport. Can I continue to use this visa to travel to the United States?If the passport containing your visa has expired, you may continue to use the valid visa provided you are traveling for the same purpose as when the visa was issued and you also carry a valid passport of the same nationality. If, however, the passport authority clipped the corners of the passport when canceling it and, in so doing, damaged the visa in any way, that visa is no longer valid and cannot be used for travel to the United States.
A change of name will not affect the validity of the visa. We recommend that when traveling, you carry a copy of the document showing the name change.
If your visa is marked 'indefinite', it can no longer be used for travel to the United States. You are required to either apply for a new visa, or if eligible, travel visa free under the Visa Waiver Program.

Fantastic! Well done!

Thanks @degreening !
Not a problem. Very good luck! You should start a timeline to keep track of your processing stats and to get a good idea of when things will be ready by: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/intro.php

1. You submit one copy of the police certificate at the NVC stage of processing. Retain another certified copy for your medical check, as you will need it there too.
2. You need the police certificate from anywhere you have lived in the past year.
Good luck!

I have my interview for November 19th! Medical on October 24th. Is it normally about 2 weeks you need to wait for the documents to be returned?
-
He is in the Philippines. Has there been a case where the wait was less than 1 month to get an interview?
60 days is the current processing time, this means they will not look at it until the 60 days are over. Unless things start speeding up at NVC you should assume it'll be the 2 months.

Ah, understood. But still needs to cover herself!

Were you his sponsor? By signing the affadavit of support I-864 you accepted legal and financial responsibility for the sponsored alien relative until they become US citizens or until they can be credited for 40 quarters of work. He has not been there long enough.... Unfortunately this puts you in a bad situation, and makes you liable to be sued by him if you don't go about this the right way. My suggestion is to go to the police regards his physical abuse. Even if you don't want him jailed, it shows you have filed a report, and that things were not great in the marriage. This could be useful to you at a later date.
I would seek advice from a lawyer, if you can afford. You are by no means accountable of anything if he is physically abusive of you.
Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, nor law professional.
-
I've never seen that before, and that is not what happened to us. It's really going to depend on the service centre processing your application. It would be great if that is what they allow you to do. Sit tight, and hope for the best!

As long as you compile your evidence, you will be absolutely fine. My wife and I had friends and family write short letters confirming our marriage and relationship, and this proved to be useful. Also keep a hold of ticket stubs from flights/cinema trips/excursions, and keep a hold of photos from times other than at your wedding to show that you are a legitimate couple. Best of luck!
Please read: http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide2
The USCIS now requires that when filing an I-130 for a spouse that you include evidence of a bona fide marriage. They list examples of acceptable evidence as:
1. Documentation showing joint ownership or property;
or 2. A lease showing joint tenancy of a common residence;
or 3. Documentation showing co-mingling of financialresources;
or 4. Birth certificate(s) of child(ren) born to you, thepetitioner, and your spouse together;
or 5. Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties havingpersonal knowledge of the bona fides of the maritalrelationship (Each affidavit must contain the full nameand address, date and place of birth of the person making the affidavit, his or her relationship to the petitioner ofbeneficiary, if any, and complete information and details explaining how the person acquired his or herknowledge of your marriage);
or 6. Any other relevant documentation to establish that thereis an ongoing marital union.Evidence of a bonafide marriage

Hi, based on experience, they will send you a letter/email to notify you that you have made the mistake... Calling them did not help for me, they simply said they wouldn't process it until the 60 days were up. They then asked me to resubmit, which they took another 60 days to review. Make sure all of the boxes are filled in, even with N/A. All the best, hope they let you through anyway despite the mistake.

Hi, I did this from the UK in September, and had absolutely no troubles. They didn't even ask. Enjoy your stay!

here you go from the info page here on VJ for your embassy.

This takes anywhere from 24 hours to a week. The cost is $30 delivered to you home or free if you pick up at a depot. SMS contact number 0870 950 1760 SMS website www.securemail.co.uk SMS contact number the latest number 0871 562 6666 SMS website is www.thedx.co.uk
Thank you, very helpful! Submitted the form earlier to have the forms sent to local DX centre.

Thank you both for your replies!
It takes them some time to print the visa so no, you won;t get it on the day. Usually about 2 weeks later.
My interview was September 2nd, they sent it September 5th, I received it September 9th (after the weekend).. so yeah, give it a week or two to show up. Good luck at the interview!
Edit: This was for K-1, but I assume processing the visa is the same no matter which type of visa.

Hi, all.
I have a simple question; do you know if I will receive my visa on the same day as the interview? Or this is something that is likely to take a while to be generated?
Thank you so much! And good luck to all of you beneficiaries and petitioners currently in the process.
Applying for Health Insurance on CR1 visa
in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America

Hi guys, just moved to California on a CR1 visa. Does anyone know when I would need my medical insurance from? I read that residents who don't apply by tomorrow will have a penalty of 2% of their household income on the next tax return. How would that apply to me, since I just moved here? And what happens with people who move to CA after this date?! Hope someone can help! Thanks!
