  1. Oh and it didn't change the amount because I guess the tax deduction is the same for single as for married filing single. I just sent in a copy of the 1040x that I sent in to the IRS. I guess it would have been better to get an actual tax transcript after the IRS had received it, but I didn't have any problems just sending a copy of the 1040x that I sent in.

  2. Ok well he went in yesterday and was there all day. They wanted him to take some kind of oath and asked him a lot of questions regarding his military experience in Cuba. Like was it part of the mandatory military service and what he did during that service, and if he had any specialized training. Then the woman told him congratulations you are approved and you can pick up your Visa on February 5th.

  3. Thanks! I will let you know how it goes.

I know how you feel. They did the same thing with our K1, in our case nothing was missing, but the police record was 5 months old and was not expired, but they requested a new one. When my fiance went back with the new clear police report they kept his passport. Then when he went back the day they told him to go back they returned his passport back and told him they will call him back. We weren't put on AP, because nothing is missing and my fiance has clear record. So we waited 2 months no phone call, finally I had to involve the congressman to get us an answer. I know they play games out there, but I hope your husband will get his visa. Also, every time my fiance went the embassy the case status date changes. But after they even they said they will return back our case to USCIS, our case status online was saying READY for the interview till recently. Wait till he tells you the result today hopefully the result will be positive. Good luck

  4. I feel so nervous and frustrated right now. My husband had his case complete on December 9 and on December 17th they sent us an interview date of January 8th. That did not leave him enough time to get his medical completed, so he went to the interview without the medical results. After the interview they gave him a 221g form that said he needed to bring in the medical. The woman interviewing wouldn't tell him if he was approved. She said approval was pending on the medical results. So January 22nd he turned in his medical results. The woman at the embassy wrote on his 221g paper January 29th and told him to return on January 29th and if he is approved he can pick up his visa. So today he went into the Embassy in Cuba super early. I have been checking the NVC status update site all day and our case is still listed as in AP. However, today the status update date has changed to today's date. It is making me crazy! I am still waiting for him to return and let me know if he was able to get his visa or if there was some other problem. The status update date has changed twice once on 1/27 and then again today, but still it is not reflecting as visa issued. This is just a rant. I had to share my struggles and frustration.

  5. Sorry I am a little confused on the whole timeline thing. I called NVC and they said that my scan date was Oct 15th and that my 60 day's would be up on Oct 15th. I can update my timeline to reflect that.

Sorry I had a typo in the first post. I called the NVC a few weeks ago and they said my 60 days was up on December 15th and my scan date was Dec 15th. Today I just called them and they say my case was completed on December 9th! I am in shock really.

Regarding the timeline, I am not given the option to enter a scan date. It only asked the date the AOS package was sent. I don't know if there is addons or something that I come use for the timeline. I notice that some people have it in their signature.

  6. Those were all a part of the initial file that I sent into with my i-130 file. I was just wanting to make sure they would be a part of the file. It is difficult for us to obtain another copy of our marriage certificate and his birth certificate because both documents are from Cuba and it is no easy process to get another copy. Thanks for the information! :)

  7. I just received notice that of my NOA2. I was reading that now my husband will be sent some documents in Cuba that he needs to bring with him to the interview. They are requesting copies of our marriage certificate, and birth certificates. I already sent all that information in our original i-130 packet. Do I need to have another copy of that to bring to the interview or will they have those documents already in our file?

  8. I am currently filling out forms for my husbands G-325A forms. My husband was born and is living in Cuba. For these documents they are asking for the city and country of his birth. On his birth certificate it says that he was born in the Municipio of Mayari and the Provincia of Holguin. What should I put for the city Mayari or Holguin? I know Cuba is the country, but I am not sure what to put for the city.

  9. I am about to complete the I-130 documents for my husbands spousal visa. I am an American citizen and my husband is a Cuban national living in Havana. I have a couple of questions. First my husband's last name has two names. I took both my husband's last names, so I now also have two last names. When I try to fill out the I-130 documents on my computer, there isn't enough space for both the last names. Should I just fill that portion in by hand? Also if I fill it in by hand, it all needs to be capitalized, is that correct? Also there are questions that don't apply to us. Should I just write N/A in those sections or should I leave them blank? Also I put my mother's address on the documents because it is possible I could move before the whole process is completed, and I don't want any notifications sent to an address that I no longer live at. Is it ok that I put my mother's address on the I-130 forms? I was assuming before the interview process I could let the USCIS know my knew address...

  10. I am an American citizen. I went to Cuba in September and I married my husband a Cuban national. I went to go get my last name changed to his last name at social security yesterday. My husband has two surnames. Which surname should I take. My husband would rather I use his second surname which is his mothers. The woman at social secuirty told me I should either use both surnames or take his fathers surname because that is the legal surname that will be recognized when he does his immigration papers. I walked over to the immigration office and that woman also suggested I take both of my husbands surnames. She told me he could change his name and take only hus mothers surname after he does his nationalization papers. Is anyone out there familiar with this type of thing? I just want to make sure there is no confusion later and that I have the name that will be best for when we file the CR1 documents.

  11. Thanks so much for everyone's response! Calygirl75 you are the first person that i have talked to that has experience with the Charter flights to Cuba. If you think they are not that bad, maybe I will try that. I live in Chicago so first i have to fly to Miami and then I can fly to Havana. If you don't mind me asking, what charter company do you usually use? One of the Charter companies I called said they could get me the A2 family visa, but I am not sure how long the visa will be good for. The Charter company I called said they only sell roundtrip tickets and those have to be used in 30 days, so I would have to pay for a round trip ticket and then buy a new ticket in havana when I am ready to go home in 3 months. Do you know if all the Charter companies make you have a round trip ticket with a 30 day limit?

  12. I am a U.S. Citizen and I am about to file the CR1 for my husband who is in Cuba. I am going to go to visit him in February and I am going ot stay with him in Cuba for 3 months. I have a couple of questions. First does anyone know what type of visa I will have to get to stay in Cuba for 3 months with my husband and how much that will cost. Some of my husbands friends told him I would have to pay as much as $150 every month to the Cuban government for my Visa. Also does it matter if I travel through Mexico and then to Cuba instead of going on a Charter flight from the U.S when we are providing the tickets to establish our relationship? I know that I can legally travel to Cuba from the U.S. now because we are married. However I am a little nervous to take a Charter flght, so I am was thinking maybe it would be easier to just travel through Mexico... The last time I went to Cuba I traveled through Mexico. Does anyone know or having any experience with this?

    Thanks!
